Very good! ”
I was concerned when I saw this hotel because it was only 2 reviews. But I book my hotel so last minutes before New Year trip. This hotel was cheapest and I didn’t have budget for other expensive hotels. So I booked Giorgio before my trip prior 3 days. When I arrived, the hotel was clean with king size bed. The service was nice. Location is excellent, it’s so close to Manhattans. Lots of backpacks for people who are traveling or visiting so I can hear the door keep open and close when I’m sleeping. I book a private hotel but the noisy doesn’t cause big problem. If I’m going to New York next time, I will definitely choose this hotel again.

Excellent option for NYC”
Pros: Rooms very new and clean, two blocks from metro station and two stations from Manhattan, staff very kind and efficient, excellent king size bed, great bathroom. Cons: No breakfast, common area quite poor, no possibility of early check-in or late check-out. In general, I'm so satisfied with Giorgio Hotel. The few cons aren't so important in the final evaluation. I'll definitely stay there again on my next NYC trip. Good price, good location and excellent room. I slept so well those days.

It’s Good”
It’s pretty good value for this little of money spent each night. To clear the confusion: 1. The $50 deposit is refundable if nothing is broken. 2. The air conditioner is not too loud, just a little bit. I am a light sleeper and I can’t hear any air con noise from other rooms. The room didn’t get cold during the whole night when I switched it off. If you are a male you shouldn’t feel cold at all if switching off the air con whole night. I am a female, but I don’t feel cold because I carry a small heated blanket with me wherever I travel. I stayed there on January when the snow was about 20 cm thick. However, something wrong with the corridor sound insulation. 1. I am on 6th floor but can hear people playing snooker pool on the basement floor! 2. The door of the rooms were really heavy and it’s made of steel. I can hear every doors banging when people return in the middle of the night throughout the whole building! But overall it should be quiet if you avoid Friday and Saturday night. I am a light sleeper and I don’t have trouble sleeping there on Sunday night. Choose any days other than Friday and Saturday. During my stay on Saturday night, the noise stopped after 2am. You can still sleep for a bit. 3. It says they have early check in for $50, but when I asked to purchase the early check in, the young Russian guy at the counter said no. So I had to cross the street to stay at another hotel rated hourly before checking in here. The check in is very troublesome, the staff took 15 minutes to check in just one person. And they were really lazy, like civil servants in communist countries, trying their best to stop customers from coming. Overall, the noise level is generally better than hotels at other areas of greater New York. I can not imagine I can get such a good night sleep in New York for such a low price. Wonderful!

A perfect Boutique Hotel. ”
A great New Hotel addition is Long Island City which is just 2 trains (5min) by train into Manhattan. This is a clean hotel. Owner has invested good money on decor & comfort of rooms with soft mattress and cushion pillows. Internet is fast & good. TV has all available channels. And a nice pool table for evening relax. Nothing much around this hotel except a deli. Neighborhood is not the best here too.

Good value but out of the way”
I got a private room and it was fine. Clean, modern, new, no issues, quiet. I got in late, around midnight, and I was surprised when the night staff told me there would be a $100 deposit fee that could take 5-10 business days to refund. No big deal but this was news to me as it was nowhere when I paid for the room. Long Island City is certainly a neighborhood in transition. Seems like an industrial area now trying to gentrify. Giorgio is just north of the area that has already turned the corner. A tough, gritty neighborhood for sure. But I felt fairly safe. Just a 5 minute walk to the subway and just 2 stops on the F train from Manhattan (63rd and Lexington). Nothing really in the area for food, just a few sketchy bodegas. Hotel has a small selection of soft drinks, et cet. Hotel is barebones, no frills, but cheap - I paid around $75 per night in February for a private room. Overall, good value but slightly weird location and a bit remote / sketchy neighborhood.

Cheapest But Comfortable Hostel in NYC”
NYC is expensive so I'm grateful to the Giorgio Hotel. It's located near the Queensboro Bridge (which was the cover of Woody Allen's movie "Manhanttan". About 3 blocks from the subway stn. Clean, newly refurbished. There were 2 bunks (4 beds) in my room w/a view of Manhattan. Take a walk over the Queensboro bridge into Manhattan.

Budget Hotel near Manhattan”
Giorgio Hotel is located in LIC. It is near Queensbridge Metro Station and it is perfectly suited to budget travelers that need a good room near Manhattan. In ten minutes walk also there is Queensboro Metro station which offers more connections with other metro lines. We stayed in a superior double room. The room itself has a very good bed and adequate space for a couple. Nice view also from the window. It has no breakfast but has a latin cafe in the next corner as a quick solution. The are is a little saddy , but no major issues in terms of security overall.

New, clean, friendly n near subway”
Area is growing and back view is of energy plant but the hotel is new and clean has a cool hangout area in basement floor with a pool table. Most of the staff is latin and friendly. Loved that the subway F line is literally a block and a half of away takes you straight to central NY.

Money’s Worth”
First, I payed about 75$ a night in an area where rooms are 250$ a night so I got my money’s worth. -The place is small, there’s no closet, fridge, etc -there’s a 100$ deposit you must make after you check in which is like a safety net thing, you’ll get it back if you don’t smoke in your room. I went to be a tourist in New York, so I genuinely was not in the room other than to sleep and get ready for the day. So it was great, it wasn’t super clean but it was decent. They had an alarm clock speaker thing which was super awesome! The hotel is not far from the nearest subway station. The walk is a little sketchy, but for the most part it appears to be safe. I would definitely stay here again, I’m so glad I found an inexpensive place to stay 16 minutes away from Times Square.

Affordable hotel near Manhattan region”
Pros: Value for money! I opted for a king bedroom with city view and it was as good as the photos I saw while booking it. At $65 per night, it was a great deal. Nearest subway station is just 4 mins walk, the F train takes you to midtown Manhattan directly within 10 mins. Cons: The 13th Street is itself a bit sketchy, although it's just 100 mts walk it has a shady look to it which makes you feel a bit unsafe if you're not a regular visitor.

Great value for money ”
Location was amazing, very short walk to the subway which only had one stop between the hotel and manhattan. Huge room, huge bed. Stained sheets on the first night (had to go down and get new ones) and a couple of nights later we got yellow stained sheets again - all of which were rather large and obvious so I’m not sure why they were put on in the first place. Loved everything else about it however I probably wouldn’t stay here for a long period of time again as they didn’t provide any mini fridges, kettles or anything like that and there weren’t many food places around to duck into for breakfast which became a hastle. Would be great for a couple nights stay. Overall impressed for the price.

Good for price”
The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the nearest subway station and then a 20 min ride into the middle of Manhattan. The neighbourhood can be seem slightly unsafe as it isn't well lit and there's quite a bit of vandalism present but I never encountered any issues. The rooms are modern, spacious with good AC and toilet facilities and the beds are reasonably comfy. Refreshments are available downstairs and there is a small area with a TV, table football and a pool table in the basement if you like to socialise within the hostel. If all you're looking for is a base to rest after your long days out exploring NYC, this is an ideal place.

Quality stay! Best hostel I've been to in NYC so far.”
Pros: everything is super fresh & clean, check in/check out was smooth. Met some really friendly guests & staff. Felt safe here. And all the facilities are fully functional and operating, unlike many other hostel-hotels in and around town. Heat & airco, hot water, not a bug in sight, clean sheets, towels, blankets and a modest, but functional game/tv room. Cons: location is fairly easy to access on the F train from Rockefeller Center, but the immediate area of the hotel is on the brink of disaster and a food desert. There is no kitchen area if you want to save on eating out. Maximum stay is only 14 days, so if you are here for a while, for business, contract work, job interviews, or scoping out new apts/real estate etc, this limit is not ideal.

Super convenient ”
I was in New York for four days, did not sleep much so the hostel was convenient to get to and rest for a bit before setting out again. I was in a dorm with three other girls and there were two bunk beds. It was one of the cheapest hostels I could find and fairly easy to get into central from. Clean showers, the sheets were changed every day and the staff were very accomodating! Honestly can’t complain :)

Hidden fees”
The waiting at my arrival was very long, and there was only 2 people before me. When it was finally my turn, they asked me a deposit of 50$ on my credit card (even if my reservation was already paid before my arrival!!!) AND they took a photocopy of my credit card!!!! The guy didnt even asked me before, because I would have, of course, refused. Ive been travelling for many years and they always take a photocopy of your passport, but never on the credit card! Its so easy to have a fraud after that anyone can use it with the pay pass limite now... I was angry. It just told me its the policy, Well Giorgio Hotel have to adjust that policy espacially if the reservation is ALREADY paid, and you have to let your clients know on your website of that "policy". Ortherwise the room was clean ans the girl at the office helpfull with the taxi when I had to leave in the night. I would not go back because of the misinformation.

Would stay here again”
While the location is pretty skeevy and run down, and a nightmare to get to on the F train after 11pm, Giorgio is genuinely a good, safe place to stay. They are quickly dropping in quality, however, compared to 1 year ago this same time. I can tell they are trying to spruce up their back courtyard, which is now covered in astroturf, but it is also infested with hairy caterpillars and it isn't possible to enjoy it without thousands of them raiding your clothing. The 10-day hold they place on your bank card is entirely unnecessary as there are no amenities (no minibar, restaurant or anything in the rooms like a TV, fridge, desk or chairs) that you could really damage. The staff is generally very kind, but I've witnessed and experienced them being extremely confrontational with guests once their booking expires; perhaps because of the area its in. Who knows. I'd stay here again, but not at first choice.

Two thumbs up”
Everything about this hotel is amazing except for some of the staff. Most of them are helpful but some others are dismissive and try their best to do the bare minimum. The room & bathroom is clean and comfortable, for dormitories the bathroom is inside the room so it’s convenient. The linens are soft and smells amazing. However, the room i stayed in has malfunctioning AC and it was during summer so it was pretty hot & stuffy. There was also no kettle provided to make hot drinks. Overall, highly recommended and definitely will stay here again in the future.

Exceptional”
Very clean hotel and smells good all the time. They change your towel and sheets everyday even if you are checked in at the dorm room. With own bath room. Just 5 mins away from 21 St. Queensbridge subway station. It was so easy for me to move about going to Rockefeller Center, Times Square, South Ferry Station, Brooklyn Bridge, etc. They have a common area where you can heat your food, eat, watch TV, play billiards or simply lounge. They allow baggage storage after checkout for free but I didn't try it. Best of all, the most affordable hotel given these positive points. I highly recommend this hotel.
