Good Value for the Money”
we were welcomed by the owner and immediately shown to our room (despite having shown up 3 hours before check-in) rooms are old fashioned, but clean and cozy. nuwara eliya gets really cold at night and we had plenty of blankets and a heater to keep us warm. also, the shower pressure as good and the water was hot, a perfect way to end the day after being cold all day. the owner arranged for our driver to go hiking in the horton plains and to go visit the tea plantations, for a reasonable price. while not located in the centre of the restaurants/bars, etc, the hotel is a located near the lake (although does not offer lake views) and is only a 10 minute walk to many restaurants offering delicious sri lankan food. also, the breakfast at the hotel is well worth it and on the days we went hiking early, the owner had his staff prepare a breakfast to go for us. overall, a great experience.

Excellant hotel, staff second to none!”
having stayed in nuwara eliya many times and staying at one of the big three hotels there each time, due to prices and bad service at those i chose to stay at the glenfall resort. the service was fantastic from all the staff and the owners are two of the nicest people i have ever met. my stay was so comfortable and very enjoyable. i would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to everyone. thanks for the wonderful relaxing stay, i will definitely be back!!

Quite and comfortable ”
We were planed to stay just one night at Glen Fall Resort at Nuwara Eliya, but when we arrived, we decided to stay one more night. The hotel has a quite and beautiful garden, we spent time in the garden reading, and having beers. Very nice place and friendly staff. The hotel facility is a bit old though. It locates by a park and walkable to the main streets. Several decent dinning places close by.

Amazing! You cannot miss it!”
Glenfall Resort is the place to be when you visit Nuwara Eliya. Everything there is magnificent. We had a great time there. There's a sweet little yard in front of the house. And you can see that everything there has been wonderfully decorated by the boss and staff. They are so nice! You cannot miss Glenfall Resort!

Really quaint place with great staff”
By far my favorite hotel on my Sri Lanka trip. The house is filled with memorabilia and is run only by 3-4 people. Some rickshaws dont know where it is but in Nuwara there is no reason to take a rickshaw. The rooms are big with independent bathrooms. The showers have 2 settings: freezing and scolding. But if you try long enough you can get it to a very hot setting which is actually really nice considering Nuwaras climate. The breakfast here is really high quality as well as the Sri Lankan lunch. Owner is very helpful and gracious. Definitely a big fan of this place.

Good location, friendly staff”
An old guesthouse which is efficiently run by friendly helpful staff. As with many cheaper places in SL the rooms are a bit dated and faded but they do the job and there was plenty of hot water on tap which is essential in Nuwara Eliya. Nice to have breakfast in the garden, including lovely local tea, in the cool morning air.

It is a very lovely hotel with beautiful interior designs. In the cabinet, the boss has collected many different art of works made in copper. The room is big, and the bed has beautiful blanket. The boss is very friendly. When we want him to help us to hire a car, he make several calls and try his best to find a car with reasonable price for us. We enjoyed ourselves very much for two nights by staying in this hotel and by visiting “Grand Hotel” nearby and Tea Factory Hotel.

large room with classical look”
stay for a night at this hotel in nuwara eliya. room is very large and comfortable. hotel gives us the homely feel. staffs are helpful and warm. i hang around the lounge area and enjoyed good time chatting with the staffs. the town centre is about 5 mins away by car. garden another mins away. convenient.

Colonial atmosphere but without hot water ”
we stayed at the hotel for three nights and it was only on our departure day when hot water issue was resolved. nuwara eliya being a cold place requires priority for hot water which we think management did not pay attention in time despite repeated complaints.breakfast was good but quality of other ordered food is not admirable. tea making and drinking water facility is not available in the room.

Nice location very near to Victoria Park and Town”
Our stay at the Glenfall resort was during the Sri Lankan new year so Nuwara Eliya was very busy giving us the opportunity to see lots of local celebrations. The location is great within walking distance of almost everything, the staff were very friendly and helpful, enjoyed the breakfast. The beds were clean, the whole room could do will a total redecoration as the furniture is very old and damaged. As for the bathroom there is a urgent requirement for an extractor fan, the bathroom smells of mould not a pleasant experience, the ceiling is mouldy and the window frames are rotting as its so damp. Its very overpriced in my eyes.

The resort is walking distance from the city center and also to Lake Gregory. The staff packed breakfast for us as we left early to Horton Plains. Nice and comfortable room.

outdated hotel on a good location”
On arrival, we were appointed a room without (strange enough) cold water. Which lead to a steaming hot shower. Staff apologizied immediately and offered another room. Must be said, this service was great, but all rooms look outdated and a bit crappy. Same can be said on the breakfast, which just did not meet our expectations. On the day we woke up early to do the horton plains trip, they arranged a foodbox for breakfast for us, which was sweet. Humidity was a big problem for this hotel (wet clothes wouldnt dry up). Cjances are this is the case for many or all hotels in Nuwara Eliya.

Nice hotel with big room and friendly staff!”
Very nice hotel, with reception that looks like being in living room and nice garden. Birds that have there nest inside hotel is unique! Hotel also organizes trips to Horton Plains National Park & World's End early in the morning, inclusive very nice breakfast for on the way. When there are more guests interested you can share the costs of course. Hotel is close to bus station and city centre.

Lovely hotel; centrally located to town centre”
This 'old English' style hotel is located within 1km walk of the town centre & adjoining Gardens. Rooms are large & spacious with excellent beds and plenty of blankets for the chilly nights. The restaurant provides a variety of tasty meals & cold beers. An ideal location for day trips around the area as well as nearby Horton's Plains & "World's End". The staff are cheerful, polite and always helpful. The hotel also boasts and excellent collection of antiques on display.

Comfortable bed”
We had two nights here, the room was very cold and damp and due to a cyclone we had no electricity for most of our stay. The generator was only put on around 6pm on our second day and so we spent the time in our room huddled around a candle. The bed was comfortable though and they did provide extra blankets to try to keep us warm. The bathroom was basic, we had hot water on our last morning only, again due to electricity issues. We were told by the manager that the electric outage was across the region, however we have since spoken to numerous other travellers who were in Nuwara Eliya at the same time as us and they had had no power cut at all. The staff were friendly enough but were a little pushy in getting us to use to hotel's dining facilities. Our time here was pretty miserable due in part to the weather but also due to the basic standard of this hotel.

Good for a Budget stay”
Since this is a budget hotel, initially I had a doubt on the hotel/room maintenance, staff etc. But, all good during the stay. Nice hospitality. Food is good (prices are little bit higher)....Breakfast of your choice (taste is good)...Free Wi-fi (but slow connection)...good response for any service request...walkable distance from City Centre/Market. Overall, it’s OK/Good for a Budget stay.

Lovely hotel with friendly staffs”
This hotel is one of the best of our choices during our trip in Sri Lanka. Hotel has really nice and clean rooms. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. We were on a trip to World's End and needed to leave the hotel at 5am on one of the mornings. Hotel staffs prepared take away breakfast for us since we couldn't make it to the breakfast.

Good location and friendly staff”
Not much to say, a good room, reasonably clean and friendly staff. Close to city center. Even though we were there during the Christmas holidays it wasn't even close to as cold as people are saying. But maybe that is because we're from Sweden and Canada respectively.
