Quite and comfortable ”
We were planed to stay just one night at Glen Fall Resort at Nuwara Eliya, but when we arrived, we decided to stay one more night. The hotel has a quite and beautiful garden, we spent time in the garden reading, and having beers. Very nice place and friendly staff. The hotel facility is a bit old though. It locates by a park and walkable to the main streets. Several decent dinning places close by.

Good Value for the Money”
Friendly Staff, Good Location
we were welcomed by the owner and immediately shown to our room (despite having shown up 3 hours before check-in) rooms are old fashioned, but clean and cozy. nuwara eliya gets really cold at night and we had plenty of blankets and a heater to keep us warm. also, the shower pressure as good and the water was hot, a perfect way to end the day after being cold all day. the owner arranged for our driver to go hiking in the horton plains and to go visit the tea plantations, for a reasonable price. while not located in the centre of the restaurants/bars, etc, the hotel is a located near the lake (although does not offer lake views) and is only a 10 minute walk to many restaurants offering delicious sri lankan food. also, the breakfast at the hotel is well worth it and on the days we went hiking early, the owner had his staff prepare a breakfast to go for us. overall, a great experience.

Huge room with an outdoor restaurant. ”
Huge Room. Wooden floor. Near to some unique buildings around the hotel. A nice outdoor restaurant.
We stayed here for 1 night. The first impression about the room? its huge. The room has 3 beds, its only 2 of us so we had one bed empty. Nice hotel, really near to victoria park, and also some uniques buildings around the hotel. Some horses are just outside the hotel, which is wow-ing. You can ride the horse if you want to pay some money.

Amazing! You cannot miss it!”
All the people there are very nice!
Glenfall Resort is the place to be when you visit Nuwara Eliya. Everything there is magnificent. We had a great time there. There's a sweet little yard in front of the house. And you can see that everything there has been wonderfully decorated by the boss and staff. They are so nice! You cannot miss Glenfall Resort!

Nice cosy hotel with attentive staff”
Cosy lobby, great breakfast, nice garden
The hotel is quite well located- in between the town and lake gregory and just across the road from Victoria Park. The rooms are comfortable and they had nice fluffy blankets given the cold environment. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise. We had large portions of nice, local breakfast everyday The hotel gets a bit dark at night - they dont seem to have bright lighting, but there is cable TV and internet if you need entertainment

Uncomfortable, Awkward, Unhappy”
Quiet location set aside from the main road
We did not experience value for money at this hotel as the owners were intent on ripping us off / exploiting us at every opportunity possible and we would not recommend this hotel to you. For example, when checking out, we required a taxi to nanu oya train station. We knew very well that it would cost 500 rupees yet the hotel owners tried to charge 1000 rupees. We stated to the owners that we knew it was 500 rupees but the owner said the standard charge was 1000 rupees. We declined their offer of a taxi to the station and walked 3 minutes into town where the first taxi driver we approached took us for 500 rupees to the station. Furthermore, breakfast was not included in the room rate so we had to pay this on check out. The owners were not clear with us at check in as to how much the breakfast charge was and we were left with a hefty bill on check out. For example, a packed breakfast consisting of 2xcheese sandwiches, an orange and a small bottle of water to take to worlds . The breakfast we had in the hotel on the other morning was approximately more than 1000 per person per breakfast. We were greeted with the bill with a grin by the owners. Finally, we took a trip to worlds end and it cost 2000 rupee per person for the van. We should have enquired elsewhere for rates for this service but we felt that we could get better value elsewhere. We were greeted with the bill with a grin by the owners. Overall, we were disappointed with the owners attitude towards us, the customer, and would advise you to look elsewhere for accommodation.

Central location with old-fashioned touch”
Within walking distance to shops and park, old-fashioned atmosphere and caring staff.
Central location, within walking distance to shops, restaurants. 6 rooms only. Oue room was large and clean with colonial look. The house has the old-fashioned flair of a guesthouse from the British period. Lovely garden. Good Food.

Location, Breakfast, Friendly staff
If you are looking for a great budget hotel this is the place for you, it might be slightly lacking on finesse and the could do with a little bit more of a clean in areas but the staff were really friendly and helpful, the Sri lankan breakfast was delicious and the trips were organised smoothly.

location, food, garden
It is a good place to stay here for arranging your activities. It is just at the center of the town but very quiet place to visit. The G Lake takes about 15min walk and Vic Park is just aside. The stuff are quite nice to serve.

Very nice hotel, with reception that looks like being in living room and nice garden. Birds that have there nest inside hotel is unique! Hotel also organizes trips to Horton Plains National Park & World's End early in the morning, inclusive very nice breakfast for on the way. When there are more guests interested you can share the costs of course. Hotel is close to bus station and city centre.

Good location, comfortable rooms, cosy atmosphere”
Proximity to City Centre and to Indian Grand Hotel
we checked in late, after 9 p.m. apparently, the manager had left for the day. nevertheless, the check in process was smooth and quick. there were limited options for dinner, but the staff provided sandwiches, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, etc. breakfast was not a fancy buffet, but there was good variety available and the service was efficient. overall, we had a comfortable stay. avoidable pin pricks - some handy-man work was left unattended e.g. door lock malfunctioning, toilet roll holder broken.

Lovely hotel; centrally located to town centre”
Old English charm, friendly helpful staff, superb food & beer, centrally located for day trips
This 'old English' style hotel is located within 1km walk of the town centre & adjoining Gardens. Rooms are large & spacious with excellent beds and plenty of blankets for the chilly nights. The restaurant provides a variety of tasty meals & cold beers. An ideal location for day trips around the area as well as nearby Horton's Plains & "World's End". The staff are cheerful, polite and always helpful. The hotel also boasts and excellent collection of antiques on display.

Great location, nice decoration, really friendly staffs
This hotel is one of the best of our choices during our trip in Sri Lanka. Hotel has really nice and clean rooms. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. We were on a trip to World's End and needed to leave the hotel at 5am on one of the mornings. Hotel staffs prepared take away breakfast for us since we couldn't make it to the breakfast.

Good location, friendly staff”
Easy walking distance to attractions, cosy atmosphere.
An old guesthouse which is efficiently run by friendly helpful staff. As with many cheaper places in SL the rooms are a bit dated and faded but they do the job and there was plenty of hot water on tap which is essential in Nuwara Eliya. Nice to have breakfast in the garden, including lovely local tea, in the cool morning air.

Really quaint place with great staff”
Cool house, great food, wifi in room, piping hot shower
By far my favorite hotel on my Sri Lanka trip. The house is filled with memorabilia and is run only by 3-4 people. Some rickshaws dont know where it is but in Nuwara there is no reason to take a rickshaw. The rooms are big with independent bathrooms. The showers have 2 settings: freezing and scolding. But if you try long enough you can get it to a very hot setting which is actually really nice considering Nuwaras climate. The breakfast here is really high quality as well as the Sri Lankan lunch. Owner is very helpful and gracious. Definitely a big fan of this place.

interior designs and location
This family-run hotel is located on the south of Victorial Park. It is a very lovely hotel with beautiful interior designs. In the cabinet, the boss has collected many different art of works made in copper. The room is big, and the bed has beautiful blanket. The boss is very friendly. When we want him to help us to hire a car, he make several calls and try his best to find a car with reasonable price for us. We enjoyed ourselves very much for two nights by staying in this hotel and by visiting “Grand Hotel” nearby and Tea Factory Hotel.
