Great if you like very old Heritage hotels
Very old, big rooms, "in Scotland"
We recommend this place for people who seek unusual hotels. We had a room in the main building of Glyngarth, built by a Scotsman over a hundred years ago. Modern facilities in a very old building. Big rooms, high ceilings, wood, huge staircase. Hotel up to high standards of welcome, food and afternoon tea.

Location, room and cleanliness
Breathtaking view, location was perfect, they could improve on their service with regard to the food. Guests have to order lunch before 11 AM and dinner before 6 PM. Other than that its a fabulous place to stay.

Its not a villa - its a home stay
Rooms + Staff Service
Not a resort, a home stay it is !! However, the rooms are very comfortable and staff service is excellent. Location wise its a bit problematic in the evening because there is no restaurants in vicinity and in the hotel one needs to order by 6pm so that dinner can be served by 9pm. Any order beyond 6pm would not be taken .. weird if you plan to come in late after sightseeing and all .. you still need to order by 6pm or else go and have it out. Food was ok after all this. The travel desk seemed confused though the manager & staff were very co-operative. The room rates are on the higher side but for couples seeking some good time together and decent budget .. its an above average stay.

A heritage hotel with average ameneties
The hotel is located in peaceful area, building reflects the colonial style and the staff where always helpful.
Visited the hotel in July 2014, hotel looked good from outside...i just loved the colonial style of the building. Interiors are still having the old furnitures and antiques. But since the building works on an old wiring system - dont expect a room heater ( i felt freezing even after liting the fire place) , never faced a power failure - so dont know if they have supportive systems. Staffs where good and responded well with our requests. Breakfast was simple, but in ample quantity. We had dinner twice there, found it a bit expensive compared to outside restaurants.

sense of history, room size, staff friendliness
Rooms need some colour Really cold even when light fire - heat just goes up chimney way they do it - needs a boy scout to do it! 1 shampoo & 1 soap between 2 staying 2 nights not generous Food fair, prices cheap Website shows well stocked bar. In fact they're all empties as no license. Why don't they say BYO which to me is a +! Having no drink with meal isnt

Very pleasant and enjoyable homestay
Staff, rooms, food
Agoda had a misunderstanding with the hotel due to which we didn't get the Wooden Cottage we had booked but the Heritage room was quite nice too with a fireplace and big bathroom. The third day of our stay we got the Wooden cottage which was lovely. The staff are very friendly, especially Karthik and Darshan.

Low internet access, bathroom facility not good cause the hot water will suddenly turn into cool water during the shower under Ooty weather.

A place to rediscover India
The Food, The Location and The Staff
The hotel is a old English Villa, refurbished but the beds and the furniture are old and part of heritage. The fireplaces use dry wood, the stairs are wooden, high ceiling and beautiful long eucalyptus trees and a garden. One could feel the romance around sipping hot coffee on the old Victorian couch. The food is good and the staff are the best I have seen among many hotels I have visited. I am a frequent traveler and if anyone is interested to have a quiet romantic outing, mountains, clouds and cycling , trekking, this is the right place to go to.
