Great location plus value for money. ”
Located in the middle of the town proper. It’S just 5-10 minute walk to Sabang beach. The staff were very helpful and accomodating. I was a bit disappointed at first cz breakfast was not served until 9am when I arrived so I ended up eating outside. However, the property manager apologized and offered it earlier the following morning. Overall, it was such a great experience. 7.5/10

The place is near the sabang beach which is good if you want to learn surfing. They also provide land tour if you want to visit the tourist spot in baler. The house is pretty and the house manager is friendly.

A great first time!”
The hostel is quite near the beach; so, it's really convenient. It's my first time in Baler and in this kind of hostel so I got a little bit anxious with interacting with fellow travellers as well as with the locals. What's great about this place for me is the 'tenants' and the people managing the place. They made us feel welcome and also gave tips on where to go and what to do in Baler. I'll definitely recommend this place to my friends/colleagues.

Pros 1. House looks homey. The rooms are well-ventilated 2. Has a lot of activities in store for house guests. 3. CUTIE DOGS Cons: 1. We were informed that there's late check in fee after we've already booked and paid (It was already nonrefundable already by that time) Not good for people who checks-in late (after 6) 2. There's no active staff during late hours 3. The room and the bathroom is not well-maintained. The beds provided didn't have any linens/bedsheets. The bathroom looks dirty and too small to actually bathe and do my business.

I booked and paid $191 AUD for a family room x 2 nights. Hotel? Hostel was difficult to find with tiny sign. checked in to find a shared bathroom, small room full of home made bunks, tiny window and no A/C (2000 peso extra) the whole place was tiny (good photos made it look bigger) 2 dogs on premises that dislike children. I expressed dissatisfaction and was told no refunds. I tried to negotiate my second room night pro rata for A/C and was denied. Both onsite staff and booking agent were contacted and would not do anything to try and find a resolution. Onsite staff were friendly but unhelpful. This is a low cost, backpacker style hostel. Great if you want to pay $14 a night and share a grubby bathroom with 12 other guests. First dud accommodation I have found on Agoda. I abandoned my second night and returned home rather than pay extra money for another hotel, although I could have stayed at several other places with own bathroom, A/C spacious family room for the same price.

Not what we expected.”
You can't say to the customer to pay additional 1,700 pesos for a day of stay using the AC. . In the Philippines, it costs only 200 pesos a day for electricity when you used the AC for a whole day. 1,700 pesos really?? for a night?? Also, its a good thing I did not bring my kids, why?? You got one adult half bulldog roaming freely in the house? Are you kidding me? The host's doesn't talk good English. The only good thing I can say in the place is we spent most of our time OUT. We only slept for a night.

Alfredo Salviejo, what happens?? You told us spontaneously that you are very happy and you will recommend us to your friends, and you leave us this disgusting comment... You should know that in the Philippines, especially here in Baler the electricity is very expensive. We do our best for our guests and we proposed to you an alternative solution that you have refused with a smile and by telling us it is very not a problem. You booked a room with fan, thank you to read the ad before to do a booking. For a Filippino english teacher who lives in United States at Orlando, I find you rude with people who are not from an english speaking country. Our dogs are very nice and trained. It is very coward to pick on dogs. We have this kind of comments on our dogs:"..also the home of two super cute dogs...". You said you don't have kids and now you say the opposite. Thank you to not take into account this comment full of lies. Thankfully, habitually our guests are always very nice and respectful :)

I enjoyed my stayed and at the same time I able to meet new people. The fried pork chop is perfect for me. Common area is the good spot wherein you can interact with other guest either locals or foreigners. Its almost at the center near the Sabang beach, Municipal Hall and other shop. Though their are set back life water supply and limited bath room and cr and ACU room that could possible improve in the future. But over all good for me.

It was a few minutes from the beach. Our room was next to the balcony and we spend most of the day hanging out. The breakfast wasn't much but was substantial. Ate Bebelyn was super friendly and we coursed all our questions regarding transportation through her.

Friendly staff and housemates. Big Beds. Cozy and stylish living room. A little renovation suggestion on the T & B as you cannot sit properly because it has crack in the toilet seat. Flow of water is poor so you'll take longer time taking a shower especially when someone in the kitchen is using the water and drainage is overflowing . Overall, good and very affordable for those on strict budget and solo traveler. Shout out to ate Baby and kulit bulilit Robert who were there to have a lil bit of chitchat with me while prepping to go on my surfing lesson! ;-)

Weekend Getaway”
My booking was supposed to be for group of friends, who cancelled at the last minute for various personal reasons. I was thinking of cancelling the booking but instead went ahead with the family instead. The place was more than what we actually expected and the staff were accommodating and managed all our inquiries. We were also in a nice location, walking distance to places where we want to be.

Home away from home in Baler”
Definitely a hostel that is comparable to international destinations. Nice location and staff (one woman team aka ate baby) but she has two sweet dogs Mogli and Leela. Place is artsy and comfy not to mention that the breakfast is so good. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

Bit pricey for the value”
Booked in advance, but nothing was ready as we arrived at night. Stayed at a couple dorm, and were the only ones at that room. Shared toilet was very small, dirty and hard to use. Many of the breakfast choices were unavailable (had to ask seperately for each one...), but when we finally managed to order, taste was good. Simple filipino breakfast. Stayed just for one night and moved closer to the bay.

We arrived at 7am and was told that check-in wasn’t until 2pm which is fine just like any other establishment. We return to the hostel at 2PM tired from our trip and it took them a while to bring us to our room. An hour later, one of the staff just barges in our room while the rest of us were sleeping and told us that we needed to move to a different room because they put us in the wrong room. Staff are very disorganized. Manager doesn’t know how to make decisions on her own. Obviously no sort of training whatsoever. Took the waitress 20 minutes to take a single order for one person. I’d ask her a question and she would just run away and disappear??? Lol What a waste for such a cute little place
