Well worth the 10 minute walk !! (or use the FREE shuttle bus service)”
Don't pay double if not more than treble the cost of a hotel room on the Las Vegas strip..!!! We have stayed here twice now, No it's not as modern as the Bellagio or the Venetian, No it's not directly on the strip (but is within a 10 minute walk or use the FREE shuttle bus service), No it's not full of young rowdy hen or bachelor parties, However, it's also not double or triple the price to stay here, Yes it's nice and quiet, Yes everyone is friendly, Yes they have a 24 hour TGI Friday's, Yes they have an all you can eat buffet 3 times a day ( Breakfast only $9.99 plus tax each) COMPARED TO $25 TO $40 each on the strip.....come on people, it's a perfect base and relaxing hotel with the costs or the hassle of being so close to the strip.
Not a bad place”
The Gold Coast, like most Vegas hotel/resorts, has some positives, and some negatives. Positives: reasonable price, good location, sufficient in house restaurants, pool/hot tub areas was nice, comped drinks, in house liquor & gift shop, cheap drinks (at center bar), friendly staff, decent selection of slots and gaming tables. Negatives: the casino floor is a bit smokier than other casinos, older hotel with dated carpeting, sometimes slow cocktail waitresses, only 3 of 4 elevators working with one day only one working (but they fixed the others quickly), layout is not the best, but no worse than other Vegas hotels. Basically, you get what you pay for with the Gold Coast. You can sit at the bar and slow play blackjack and drink for free all day. Weather was perfect when we were there, and laid by the pool for a couple hours every day, which was great. No poolside service, but a short walk into to the casino and you can order your own drinks. Smokes are $11.50/pack.
Are you bowling?”
Came for the Masters bowling tournament so wanted something easy and close. Bowling alley was great as was the whole venue. Gold Coast is close enough to the strip where you can have a good time. Table games and slots were good. Still has that rare 70's casino feel so take it for what it's worth. Room was enough but I would probably stay elsewhere if I go back to Vegas. Staff were all good. No complaints.
Great resort to stay in Vegas”
The room and toilet was quite big with nice amenities. The casino was big and good too. Server restaurants inside the resort, like TGI's, famous Chinese restaurant, etc etc. Their buffet was good as well. Their staff and service was excellent during my stay. The strip is about 15 minutes walk , but shuttle is available to and fro from the hotel though. Overall it's an excellent place to stay. Value for money.
good hotel but...”
Room was very good, large and clean. Internet not very fast. Easy connection to Rio Casino. Location is a little issue if you plan to visit and explore Vegas. Shuttle often fully booked and long walking distance to the Strip (at least 45 minutes). Pool and Fitness Gym small as well.
good value hotel just nearby the Strip”
The room and in room facilities are fantastic. Clean, large and comfortable (low noise and no disturbances since the bedroom is not directly connected to the exit door to the corridor. There is a shuttle bus service between the hotel to the high roller (The LiNQ) place, thus saving on transport to the Strip if one is looking for a place out of the Strip for staying. Acceptable resort fee as we don't really want the gym and pool access (of which most hotels at the Strip will charge you as part of the resort fee). We stay for one night before moving to the Strip for different experience anyway, but would like to stay at Gold Coast for longer period in future if we ever visit again.
Very good”
We have stayed at the gold coast several times in the past few years. I like the ease of getting to the Gold Coast and the abundance of parking. The only negative thing I could think of was not putting the total cost of the room on the online booking page. Its like trying to trick the customer into a lower rate and not mentioning the resort fee until later. I knew it was coming but I would like to see the "TRUE" cost of the room up front.
Excellent”
There are three things that are keeping Gold Coast from getting 5 stars across the board. The rooms don't come with a fridge, microwave nor extra blanket and the staff may or may not provide you with one when asked which I encountered on my most recent visit. It made our stay a little less pleasant.
You get what you pay for”
For the price of a hotel, compared to those on the Vegas strip, it's a nice hotel to stay at. They have a good coffee shop in the lobby, there's a TGI Fridays, and more. Gym was half decent, pool was nice, nothing to craze about. The cleaning service kept coming in at the wrong time when we were changing or still in bed. This could have been bad timing is all. Cleanliness is subpar. Complimentary coffee was below subpar. Overall I give it a 3.25/5 start review soley because there was a gym, a bed to sleep in and some great coffee in the lobby.
agoda ripped off my money and left me stranded in a foreign country with no place to stay”
I had trouble with the agoda website and had to refresh the screen. When it loadd it has all my info still entered in the equired feilds. So I paid and made the reservation. When I come to check in on the 19 the date was for July the 17 not the 19. So I called the phone number and basically the operator told me it was my error and he would not change the date to the 19 and he would be keeping themoney I paid as well and not helping me. Gold Coast told me they did not charge Agoda for my missed night and they ooked me a room at a discount rate but I ended paying double the price and still missed out on the money I paid Agoda for the room. So gold Coast good and agoda bad..
Pros and Cons”
Had a huge issue with check in forced to wait 2 hours at Midnight until 2 am after driving from California. Need better training of front desk. Given a free night and an upgrade to a Hot Tub in the room theme suite and was very impressed with the manager the next day. Great customer service by management, huge fail by the woman who was checking us in (about 20 other people had the same problem that night.) Need to update your check in system/ policies. Good room and bed in the heart of Old Las Vegas
Great Htel for the money.........perfect location!”
I have been here before ,this is the best Hotel for your buck,Nice rooms,Clean, never a problem I do always ask for a small frig.so I can have some snack and cool drinks always on hand. The price is $15.00 for the stay one day or a week is just $15. but they always comp. FREE great. You are Across the Palms Hotel ,shop and movies theater ,Plus a Sonic Burger around the corner..Try it For me is great..
Worth it! ”
The hotel was great. We had two rooms. Both were very clean and good space. The staff was really nice! The location was close to everything on the strip and wasn’t crowded. I would stay here again.
Excellent”
Not so far from the strip, which we liked. Very friendly staff! They have Fridays and subway inside the hotel which was great! We had dinner and walked right up to our room. Room was really clean, nice view Also.
Nice. Basic. Resort hotel in downtown Vegas ”
It’s an older hotel but with upgraded amenities. You can find great deals off-peak. Walking distance to Chinatown. Quiet area and a bit far from the strip. Decent pool and jacuzzi a well as a smaller gym but with all workout necessities.
Enjoyed the stay”
Stay was good. The room was basic, but worked fine for our needs. Free parking was nice. Located right next to the highway and just a little bit off the strip, enough to dodge traffic most of the time. Construction on flamingo rd at the time of posting, didn't hinder getting in and out of the casino at all. All in all, was a good stay!
Fantastic value for money!!”
Pros Good value for money Fabulous Chinese restuarant Free shuttle Helpful staff Pool and jacuzzi Cons Little bit away from the main strip but can walk in 20mins and also free shuttle
Great value”
Very good value for money.nice off strip hotel.there is a free shuttle which takes you to the strip.rooms are nice.good choice of places to eat within the hotel.would stay here again
Ever increasing resort fees!!!”
A great hotel off The Strip with mostly everything you need apart from a poor selection of eateries and an ever increasing rip off of "resort fees "! At least, unlike many others, they do not charge additional for car parking..........YET!
Exceptional”
