Good hotel in quiet location”
Stayed for 4 nights in Dec.Room was spacious & had a balcony with lovely views of the Marina.Check in was efficient & staff were excellent. Hotel run an hourly service to Hong Kong which takes 35 mins. 10 mins walk to the Gold coast piazza where there is a selection of shops including a supermarket and restaurants (incl McDonalds) overlooking the marina. From there you can get regular buses to Kowloon & Hong Kong. Bus 61M gets you to the local train station for quick access to all areas of Hong Kong. good points, lolcation altough 30 minutes from hong kong center is ideal. lovely views over the harbour. nice swimming pool. decent sized rooms, nice lobby area and 10 minutes walk to the gold coast piazza which is a selection of shops including a supermarket and a restaurants overlooking the sea. a taxi to the hotel will cost around 25 pounds for a 30 minute journey. if there are 2 of you this works out to be a good deal compared to the nearer an hour it will take on the shuttle bus. buffet breakfast very nice, mixture of western and eastern breakfast couldnt fault it. bad points. the restaurant on site for evening meals is overpriced. 15 pounds for a very plain pizza!!! you are much better to go to the piazza. the staff are efficient but are not as friendly as in other hotels I have visited in asia. overall a good experience but not one which would guarantee me staying in this hotel when I return to hong kong.
Highly reviewed hotel for Serious RECOMMENDATION”
This top class hotel has breathtaking balcony seaviews. It has huge spacious rooms with an amazing bathroom. The friendly hotel staff made our stay at the hotel sucha a pleasure. The location was convenient and superb in so many ways almost like a secluded paradise. The surrounding restaurants and shopping strip was a walking distance away(Yay). The food at the Gold Coast Hotel was 5 star-always, especially their Chilli 'n Spice cuisine on the waterfront. The hotel is a stone throw away from the beach and was equipped with 5 star amenities like tennis courts, pools, a spa, a gym and much much more.Huge variety on Room service menu and was completly affordable. The free hotel shuttle bus made travelling to and from the hotel so easy and efficient. We spent most of our vacation in Hong Kong at This 5 star hotel and would definatly go back if/when we return to Hong Kong
One of only hotels to accept a guide dog in room”
Despite accessibility laws in Hong Kong enforcement is not mandatory so we found ourselves with few reasonable choices for accommodation with a guide dog. One place said we could leave the guide dog in the car park. absurd! At the Gold Coast Hotel we were given the most attentive and hospitable service by the staff. It was quite impressive. Otherwise the hotel was certainly up to standard: the main lobby gorgeous, the grounds beautifully maintained, the rooms-though typically small- were very clean, well furnished and quite comfortable with beautiful views from the balcony. The Gold Coast Piazza is a short walk away and has a variety of dining options with outdoor seating. Despite our short stay would certainly recommend if a luxurious indulgent tourist-friendly resort-style accommodation is what you are looking for.
Great choice, big rooms and good price”
Gold Coast Hotel is a great option if you do not want to stay in busy Hong Kong Island or Kowloon and do not mind commuting. Rooms are big and comfortable which is very rare for this price in Hong Kong. Many rooms have great sea view. It is worth investing into balcony sea view room. The hotel has a lovely garden with a pool and stays just on the beach. Staff is helpful and friendly. There is a shuttle bus going to Tsim Tsa Tsui every hour for 20K per person (40 minutes driving). You can find some good value restaurants in the local Piazza.
We love the GOLD COAST Grand Deluxe seaview room”
Top class hotel for its breathtaking seaviews from the balcony and Huge rooms,The riendly hotel staff made checking in and out a pleasure,Location was amazing, and is almost like a secluded paradise. The surrounding restaunts and shopping mall/strip was very convenient to go to( walking distance ) The food places in and around the Gold coast hotel was 5 star including Chilli n' Spice cuisine on the waterfront, Thre hotel was right on the beach and was equipped wit 5 star amenities like tennis pool spa gym and much much more Excellent food and room service Free shuttle service from Sino hotels Group. We spent most of our vacation in hong kong at this 5 star hotel.
Very nice hotel”
staying in Gold Coast Hotel. You can experience that you are in vaccation just like in a island. It is because it is no a lot of shopping mall or restaurant. But the facilities that is good enough. You can go to beach to enjoy beach walking. You can go to Sunday Piazza market if you feel boring. It has a big Supermaket- "Market Place" nearby. Also, there are a different kind of food next to Piazza. If you really want to go shopping mall, they have shuttle bus to T.S.T and it is convenient to take a taxi from hotel to Tuen Mun new town centre. It takes only 10mins by taxi only....
Another great stay at the Gold Coast!”
I am a returning guest at the Gold Coat Hotel. I have stayed there several times whilst living in Hong Kong............ my getaway place, but this was the first time I stayed there since relocating to Beijing. It had the same effect on me as always! The hotel was busy as it was Mid Autumn Festival; but going to the beach early and using rooms service, ensured the peace and relaxation I was looking for. Hotel staff was its usual friendly, helpful and efficient self. The one thing that I was a little disappointed with was that it was very hard to get an appointment at the spa as the hotel was so busy. I only managed one appointment (the only one left in the whole time I was there) I am not sure how this could be addressed? Maybe more staff working at peak times? Other than that, another fabulous stay........ highly recommended! Thank you Gold Coast!
Everything i expected and more...”
I read some other critical reviews about staff and a few other things, but i found the Gold Coast Hotel great. Start from the check-in (Carmen) - I was the only one checking in at about 6.30pm, so it was quick & pleasant - asked for a floor above the 9th for good views and was given a lovely clean King size bed room on the 15fl (no smoking floor) - asked for a late check-out - "no probs sir" an extra free hour till 1pm (so i got to watch the Melbourne Cup live in my room) ... youngest guy (i think) on the 'concierge' desk carried my bags to the room & was very helpful about the shuttle-bus service to Tsing Yi the next day (only hk$20) - wouldn't take a tip and said he was sorry he wouldn't be on duty the next day before the shuttle left to help with anything. The nightly buffet is mind-blowing - hk$500 or 25-35% discount if paid by credit card (making it hk$350) ... a bit exxy, but boy what a spread of food ! A short walk away is the Gold Coast Piazza with an array of nice restaurants with all types of cuisines avbl - great grocery store and of course 7-11. Very very happy with my stay. ALL staff very helpful (oh, my phone re-charger wouldn't work and 'housekeeping' promptly found another to lend me to recharge my phone ...) Stayed November 2013, traveled solo
Lovely hotel”
We (a couple) had a nice stay at Gold Coast; we deliberately chose it for our last 2 nights in Hong Kong as we had had a much longer stay in the city earlier in the month and thought it would be a relaxing "resort-like" end to our month-long holiday in Asia. It was the right decision. Some friends joined us on the last night for a scrumptious buffet dinner at the hotel and made it even more memorable. Our shuttle rides to and from the airport, at a reasonable cost, was shorter and took us through a more "scenic" route than routes to the city in Kowloon or Hong Kong. I would suggest it for the last nights of visits to Hong Kong.
A lovely escape”
We love the Gold Coast Hotel. We live in Hong Kong and it's a great way to escape from the intensity of the city - being on the beach and away from all the skyscrapers really does feel like being in another country. I'm not sure I would recommend it to tourists - it's a fair distance to the city centre, and you certainly wouldn't visit Hong Kong just to go to the beach, but if you're living here and need to get away then you can't do much better.
Sunday Buffet Treat”
Hong Kong Gold-coast Hotel has some great restaurants. They provide great variety and offer various types of Buffet option. Evenings have a BBQ Buffet adjacent to the pool area which always great if you are a BBQ type family. The jewel in the crown of the Gold-coast Hotel Buffet range for me is the Sunday Campaign Brunch. They also offer the same buffet alcohol free (soft drinks only) and they can accommodate large groups/parties.
Great location to relax”
This is my sixth or seventh stay at the Gold Coast Hotel. The reasons I choose this hotel for my visits are: 1) close to Hong Kong International Airport -- After a fairly long hectic flight in to HK, you do not have to take another long ride to downtown hotels. It is just a 40-45 minutes ride. 2) access to downtown Kowloon and Hong Kong is convenient -- Hotel offers bus to Tsim Sha Tsui, Subway station is in the vicinity so access to downtown areas convenient 3) relaxing environment & location -- Hotel is located right next to the beach, ocean front. Great harbor view and you can take a stroll down at the beach and at the small shopping mall next door. 4) Chinese restaurant -- In-house restaurant may not be your best choice when you visit Hong Kong, but the quality of dishes are high and the service is good. If you want to stay away from the busy metropolitan environment, you can spend a day at this Tuen Mun area.
Great hotel”
The Gold Coast Hotel is our favorite hotel in Hong Kong. Although it's location is out of the way, the beautiful surroundings make it worth the travel. It is a 5 minute walk from the beach. The hotel pool is great. Some of the rooms have a private balcony. This hotel is a great resort within the city of Hong Kong.
Very nice experience Gold Coast Hotel”
The Gold Coast hotel was really a fantastic experience for both me and my family, because it is so beautiful and the personnel so warm! We loved to stay and relax by the pool and enjoy the lovely summer weather. Also the nearby surroundings with its commercial centre was avery nice experience and so near. The TMT Plaza was also near when we wanted to go and do some more shopping. The shuttle bus between the hotel and the Kowloon city centre was very convenient. The hotelroom was very nice and big with its beautiful bathroom and seawiew. Next time I would maybe like to reserv a room with a balcony. The young cleaning lady was also very kind to us. I really hope to be able to go back to the Gold Coast. My parents who are eldery people loved the hotel, but they would have liked to to have breakfast included in the roomrate. My best regards and thank you.
Lovely beach side hotel”
Never hesitate to book this hotel for any friends and guests visiting Hong Kong. Lovely and quiet surrounding. 35 mins to TST. 10 mins to Tuen Mun town centre where you find most high street brands and all you need. Great value for those laid back travellers. Would return again.
The real relaxing Hong Kong”
Don't believe to stay in Tsim Sha Tsui or Mong kok as the city in Hong Kong. You should enjoy the real quiet, relaxing and services in Gold Coast Hotel. With the real beautiful sunshine and beach in gold coast, Yacht Club House with excellence Food and services. You can travel to Tower centre for shopping easily , but more importantly you can get nice sea food around without other overcrowded travellers.
Great location with space room”
The staff were very accommodating, professional and helpful. There was a play area for the kids which our daughter absolutely loved it. The food was a bit pricey but good quality. Near by Disneyland and walking distance from the Gold Coast Piazza that had an array of food choices. Over all it was a good experience for me and my family. Next trip to Hong Kong again i'll certainly consider to stay in this hotel again.
Gold Coast Hotel, Hong Kong ”
Great location in the Gold Coast area of Hong Kong away from the hustle and bustle of the urban city. Hotel is in a tropical water front location with great views of the river and marina. Has convenient hourly shuttle service to and from downtown Hong Kong, ferries and subway. We would return and stay there again.
Nice local getaway”
Stayed here with my wife and 2 kids around New Year's. Overall, it's a nice getaway with a good view, and I would personally rate it as a 4 star hotel. It's far from the action of Kowloon and Hong Kong Island and not too accessible to the MTR line so don't come here if you need to do lots of sight seeing and shopping! A lot of locals come to this hotel for short getaways so it felt a bit less international than the 5 star hotel we stayed at in Kowloon. However, we weren't the only foreigners there so we certainly didn't feel out of place. We were on a 10 day vacation in Hong Kong and spent the first week at a Kowloon hotel near all the action. We spent three days (including New Year's eve) at the Gold Coast hotel. The balcony view overlooking the yachts was beautiful and the balcony itself is quite big. The rooms are decent sized and clean with about 4 star fittings. The bathroom was all marble, clean and quite nice (a small step up from the room itself). The Chinese restaurant in this hotel was great - my son loves Peking duck and is very picky he gave it an enthusiastic thumbs up and wanted to eat there every day! They had a 40% off Peking duck deal + 15% off your total restaurant bill as a hotel guest so dad was happy too!! :) The New Year's Eve Gala was quite enjoyable for my family. It cost about $115/head with 2 glasses of champagne and an all you can eat buffet. The buffet included steak (tender and tasty), lobster tail (albeit they were pretty small), chinese crab cakes, peking duck, dim sum, lots of other things (fried rice, kung pao chicken, etc, etc, etc) and lots and lots of yummy western & asian deserts. There was an okay band playing that added to the fun atmosphere. Note that the Gold Coast Piazza is about a 5min walk from here and contains a few restaurants (chinese, french, mediterranean and a kebab place), a supermarket, a wine/cheese shop, 7-eleven and a small outdoor market with local sellers peddling some goods.
Beautiful resort, friendly staff and spacious room. Highly recommended!”
Traveled from San Francisco to Hong Kong and stayed at Gold Coast Hotel for one week. Was thinking to stay at Tsim Sha Tsui but I’m glad I picked Gold Coast. It’s so relaxing and the swimming pool is well maintained and huge! The view and plaza are magnificent!
