Very quiet family resort”
Nice bungalows, sunbeds available on the premises. Mostly scandinavian and elderly people or family with very small children. Very good location and beach access. Breakfast very good. Our 7yr kid really loved pool area. Friendly staff. Small and cozy place. We took beach view bungalos, because were afraid, that maybe cheaper ones are too far from beach or too noisy, but save your money, they are even more quieter. Cleaning every day. Restoran also good. We stayed for 2 days, but can easily imagine relaxing here for much longer.

Great value for money”
We stayed during December 2020 just after the second Covid outbreak in Thailand - and we were the only guests in the resort. The staff tried everything to make us feel welcome and at home. The breakfast was simple but ok - of course they cannot provide everything due to the low business. The pool seems newly renovated and was very nice and clean. Spacious room with everything you need (we stayed at Deluxe Sea View). Overall great value for money, direct location at the beautiful beach - we can surely recommend this place for a relaxing stay.

Nice place, right on the beach. The restaurant and bar was closed during our stay, but the manager and owner did their best to make our stay enjoyable. Nice pool. and garden area. Most of the restaurants and bars on Koh Lanta were shut down during our stay, but the Island is wonderful and we would definitely return.

We loved Golden Bay!”
We stayed here for 4 nights in May (low season) and scored a bargain with the price for a deluxe bungalow ($35AUD) per night including an excellent breakfast. The bungalows are simple, small but perfect for what we required. Comfy bed, window seat, air conditioner, tv, and large bathroom, and patio. They are clean and also each have an in-room safe. The resort is set away from the street, about a 3 minute walk up to the road, but they resort has a tuk tuk to drive you up if need be. The grounds are kept immaculate and the staff are lovely, always smiling and saying hello. The location is right on Klong Dao Beach which is perfect to stroll along any time of day. Also a great location to catch the sunset. We only ate in the restaurant for the breakfast buffet, which was included in the price of our stay. Lots of options and fresh ingredients. The pool was lovely and refreshing after a day of wandering the island, and finishing the 4 island snorkelling tour. Lots of sun beds and shelters. I highly recommend Golden Bay Cottage and will be back.

Wonderful and relaxing stay”
I stayed for a week at Golden Bay Cottage in November 2014 and absolutely loved it. I am glad I booked my stay through Agoda.com after reading all the reviews online about the hotel and viewing the pictures online. The rooms are absolutely clean, neat and tidy and it looks exactly like the pictures if not better. I liked the warmth and the hospitality from the hotel staffs as they attend to your every need and complaints almost immediately. In terms of location, Golden Bay Cottage is situated right on the beachfront towards the northern tip slightly away from some of the bars but yet within walking distance to the nightlife. The hotel itself has a lovely restaurant which I heard serve some of the best and reasonably priced Thai and Western dishes, though I did not try it. If you fancy a walkabout, you can walk out of the hotel premises along a stretch of road that leads you to Klongdao Road. On this stretch, you can find tons of restaurants, bakery, 7-11 convenience store, hawker food, tattoo parlour, travel agencies, etc. All within walking distance. Else, you can always flagged down a tuk tuk for a spin down north to Saladan Pier or head down south to view some of the lovely beaches there.

Koh Lanta is one of the bigger islands, but due to less traffic its easy to explore by motorbike. The hotel location is perfect with many restaurants and shops close by. The hotel grounds are really beautiful and in perfect condition. The big pool is great for a relaxed swimm or to watch the sunset. Sunsets will be memorable for your whole life, and the hotel name with Golden Bay Cottage makes now even more sense as everything sparcles like gold. For swimming there might be better beaches, but for us the stay was relaxing, comfortable and fully enjoyable. We would go there again!

Very cosy, close to town, beach and other activities, good food”
We were very satisfied with the service, location and staff. Very close to nice restaurants and beach, new towels for room and beach every day, very good breakfast (buffet), nice staff although sometimes they don't speak english very well and don't understand what we were asking for, but always helpful and honest! Great pool and atmosphere around the whole Golden Bay complex. We would definitely come back there! In general the advantages are: - cosy and clean - nice staff - good breakfast - close to restaurants and beach - everyday new room and beach towels - safety box in the room - air con in the room - bathroom in the room - nice swimming pool, not crowded - quiet area Disadvantages: - you might get bored after few days, but because of the island - good for families with children mainly (Koh Lanta)

Lovely resort with plenty of loungers, but not enough shade.”
Golden bay is located on a prime stretch of the popular Klong Dao beach. The bungalows are very nice, and well maintained. The pool is quite big, and very refreshing. The sea is rather shallow on Klong Dao, but good for families with young children. The staff were exceptional in terms of helpfulness and friendliness. Our only complaint about the resort is that finding shade I'd difficult. The sort of shades around the pool don't really work. There are loungers on the grass nearer the beach, but no umbrellas. Still, in all, I recommend the resort.

Quiet, safe and relaxing”
if we happen to be on koh lanta again, we'll definetely stay at the golden bay cottages. we fell in love with this hotel, didn't want to leave and stayed for two extra nights. the only shortcoming is that the mattress and pillows were not as comfortable, and some bedsheets had suspiciously-looking stains. the staff is very good, especially personal manager (job for short). he speaks good english and was very helpful.

Friendly hotel with good location”
we stayed at golden bay for 14 nights and enjoyed our visit very much. the best thing was the friendly staff and the location on klong dao beach. the bungalows were small but were clean. free wifi internet access is included. we needed a baby cot for our daughter which was provided without any charge. the breakfast is rather standard for a hotel of this kind and includes the mandatory egg n bacon, omelette, toast and coffee. everything was fresh and well tasting. we will most certainly visit golden bay cottages again!

Booked for 2 nights, stayed for 8”
This Was a great place to stay for us. It was near the ferry port on the North side of the island so that was a cheap taxi ride to the cottages. This location is a bit far north on Klong Dao beach but there are plenty of great places to eat nearby and you can rent a scooter from Golden Bay for 200 baht per day (24hrs). The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. Right on the beach for some nice sunsets. I would maybe travel elsewhere for lunch and dinner as there are awesome road side food places for cheaper. We didn't mind the drive down to the other beaches and to old town, they were fun adventures and I would say the scooter rental is a must as it gives you total freedom.

We booked at Golden Bay Cottage very spontaniously and arrived the same day - no problem at all, the bungalow was clean and the staff well prepared. The hotel is directly at the beach and different to other areas the beach was clean, no flotsam or trash, and perfect for long walks. Thanks to low season it was not crowded, neighter in the hotel nor at the beach. Our bungalow was very clean, room service came every day and we got new towels for the room and the pool. The bugalow and the bathroom were big and new and it wouldn't have been a problem to stay there with three people (or even more if allowed). The facilities were all clean and neat. The restaurant served good food and, if the weather is ok, you can sit directly at the beach for dinner. Breakfast was also very good: we could choose between different style of eggs like omlette or scrummbled eggs (freshly made), pancakes, toast with jam and butter, muesli or cornflaces with yoghurt/milk and fresh fruits. There was also Thai-breakfast like fried rice and noodles, but we didn't try this. For us it was the perfect place to relaxe and just enjoy ourselfes and we would recommend to everyone!

Wonderful place - all you need!”
Iv'e stayed at Golden Bay Cottage af few times and i love this place. The staff is nice and very helpful, the resort area has something few other places have, it's cozy, beautiful and not to crowded. There is a natural comfortable distance between pool, garden for sunbathing, restaurant, beach ect.. Wonderful. The restaurant has gotten better and better, their food is really good and the location right on the beach really tops it of! The rooms are nice and you get value for money. Big thumbs up to Kong, a young man who seems to run the place on a daily base. This guy has service in his blood!! Helpful, comfortable, sweet and a 6th sense for being around every time you need help and knowing when to retreat and let the costumers relax... We loved this guy! For any negatives... the wifi is not extremely fast, this was primarily an issue for the kids :) The beds are not soft, but after a night or two of getting used to it, it actually did wonders for my back.

We stayed in the Golden Bay Cottage for 5 days and felt that our rooms was amazing and comfortable. We supposed to have a superior room but we have been upgrade to view beach room and a minute's walk to the beach...amazing hotel, nice waiters, great food and perfect location.I highly recommend this place. We love Ko lanta, and we love this hotel.

Lovely Place To Chill on Koh Lanta”
Golden bay cottage hotel is a wonderful escape on a beautiful island. Just far enough away from the huddle and bustle of the main road and close enough to Saladan (50 baht pp). Booked for 1 night and stayed 3. Rooms ate spotlessly clean. Staff are lovely and very helpful. Elvis, who is always around the reception is a funny guy always bright, cheerful and joking around. Food in the restaurant is lovely. A good choice of food at breakfast. Pool area is delightfully clean and tidy, grounds well kept and the beach, which is accessed direcly from the hotel gardens is beautiful. You cannot go wrong booking this hotel. *****

Cute hotel neighbouring the Andaman sea”
I enjoyed my stay at Golden Bay Cottage. The hotel is situated very close to the beach, the service has been very nice, the cleaning staff has done a very good job and I have felt very appreciated as a guest. The pool area looks amazing, although there were some problems with the cleanliness of the pool during my stay. There is a hotel restaurant with very nice staff, which serves good food, especially traditional Thai food, but also very nice grilled skewers. Sometimes the wifi was experiencing problems, but it worked most of the time. Overall: a good stay at a wonderful place!
