Best homestay in Hoi An”
This homestay is most probably the best you can find in Hoi An. It is so clean and the staff is incredibly helpful and so friendly. Especially Trin was a great help and gave good advices. Staying at this place feels like home! We arrived in the very early morning and they gave us a very warm welcome and offered a fresh brewed vietnamese coffee. The rooms are spacious and well equipped with everything you may need. Bicyles are for free. The homestay is perfectly located between the beaches and the old town. We will come back for sure! Thanks to the whole Golden Bell Homestay team for giving us a wonderful time in Hoi An! We highly recommend this place.

a charming hotel in all regards”
We ended up staying in Hoi An longer than anticipated (one night turned into three), and we had no problem extending our stay at this hotel. Golden Bell had so much to offer - a great, quiet location (very short distance to the city centre and Ancient Town), a comfy bed, and a yummy breakfast with fruit, pastries, and eggs. The family also has an adorable little pup named Happy. To get around the city, they offer free bikes and a moped that is super cheap to rent. We utilized both during our stay! The staff also helped us organize transportation with Motorvina to move on to Hue when it came time to leave - it was amazing! Our bags were picked up from the hotel and taken to Motorvina's office in Hue, and a moped was dropped off for us to make the famously beautiful drive to Hue. The one negative thing - we did not find out until the morning that the airport shuttle service on our night of arrival cost us 15 USD (plus $2 because our flight arrived late at night). That equals the price of another night entirely! Would have been nice to know at our time of booking, as the site simply says that airport shuttle service is included with the hotel. It kind of just felt like we were trapped into paying the high fee (although admittedly, I do not know how much a cab would have cost, so it potentially could have been a good deal). My husband and I both overall loved this hotel - great value and service is provided for what you pay. We would stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone!

Great place, good location, amazing breakfast, but...”
We have mixed feelings about our stay at the Golden Bell Homestay. Good things: Very new & clean, good location and the included "buffet" breakfast is absolutely the best we've had in Vietnam. So much variety! The pool is nice too, as well as the free bikes. However, there is one thing that we didn't appreciate and that makes us not want to go back there again, it's some of the staff members and the way they treat you. They go overboard trying to serve you. Like, too much. They asked us questions all the time, often to try to sell us stuff that the hotel provides, and when we started refusing politely their offers, their attitude towards us kind of changed. We could sense that they forced their smiles, and they would often talk in Vietnamese together in a low tone right after we talked to them, as we turned our back. During the breakfast, they want to assist you every step of the way and ask you questions during you eat. Every day, they asked us what we did yesterday and what we were planning to do that day, even though we said everyday that we had no plan. We could sense an upsell coming often, and often, they did try to sell us their cooking class, refer us to their friend's businesses and tailoring shops. All in all, it is a great place, and some of the staff members are great, such as Tam and Hoa, but the rest of the staff, we didn't like so much. They didn't respect the fact that we wanted to be left alone, not being questioned every time we saw them. Would probably not go back there.

Treated like royalty in Hoi An!”
Definitely stay at Golden Bell whether you are a couple, friends or solo traveller! Staff provided free bikes for us to roam around Hoi An, amazing breakfast buffet with fresh spreads (especially the fab peanut butter), did laundry very quickly and easily, arranged affordable transport and provided great recommendations for tours, sights and restaurants! For the same price of a lower quality hostel, Golden Bell provides a luxurious experience.

A gem of a hotel in beautiful Hoi An!”
We had a wonderful time at the Golden Bell and would highly highly recommend it to others. Our room was spacious, clean and modern and (as we ended up with a superior room) also had a balcony overlooking the garden. Staff were helpful and friendly. Complimentary bikes were available to cycle into central Hoi An or to the beach (both within ten minutesb). And breakfast was superb! Was surprised to find such a fab little hotel at such a reasonable price.

Best hotel / homestay that I stayed at in Vietnam”
Outstanding place to stay in Hoi An. Rooms were the best I had experienced in Vietnam through my North to South holiday. Rooms were far above standard. Excellent breakfast buffet and cooked eggs to your choice. It is a family run homestay and they all made me feel welcome from the first moment. I had to leave at 4:45am to catch a flight to HCMC, they organised a private car for me and it was there waiting on time ... not like my experience in Hanoi. To my surprise that he also kindly made me a take-away breakfast - club sandwich plus two nicely boiled eggs, salt & pepper, yogurt, fresh fruit plus a spoon, folk and napkin - now that really is outstanding service. They also have free bikes you can take for the day to ride around. The organic vegetable garden and An Bang beach are only a short ride away. It is 20 minutes walk from town which you do get used to and I found it quite pleasant at the start and end of the day. Believe the reviews for this homestay. Outstanding.

Good value for money - great breakfast!”
Our stay at Golden Bell Homestay was great. The room was generous and clean and the buffet style breakfast was really nice. Our AC was a bit noisy. They rent bikes for free (test them before! Some have wobbly pedals and flat tires but they have a pump at the homestay) and you'll be in the city center within 10 minutes. Nice and quiet area.

Nice place, friendly staff”
The Golden Bell is a lovely little guest house with a nice family feel. The room was comfortable, the staff helpful and the breakfasts filling. The location is a little out of town - maybe 20 minutes to walk - but bikes are available and these are good for getting around Hoi An and the surrounding areas. All in all, a very pleasant stay :)

Golden bell is a great place to stay in Hoi An. Conveniently located between town and An Bang beach. A wonderful family run business with very good rooms and a fantastic breakfast.They also have high quality bicycles that you can use no charge. The only negative with this place is that it is hard to leave

Excellent”
Golden Bell Homestay was really nice, the bed was one of comfiest we have stayed in for a while! The staff were really friendly and helpful, recommended a good tailor. The location really isn't far from town (and it's a straight line so you can't get lost!), there are also bikes to borrow! There is even a mini bar in the room (and reasonably priced).

An excellent value - a nice room for a very reasonable price”
This is my 3rd time in Hoi An so I know the area and hotel values well. Price was very reasonable, room clean and modern though a little worn, comfortable bed (many hotels in Asia have very hard beds), a decent breakfast but for the room price the breakfast was very good. The owner and his in laws, despite not speaking English, are very hospitable and helpful. Viet, the owner, used his Ipad to converse with me. On my first night he offered to join him for a beer. Unfortunately I wasn't feeling well and was disappointed I couldn't get to know him and the other guests better. The location is a bit far from the ancient town - for me not a real problem because I've already seen everything I want there - though at night there is lots of street food there. It's about 15-20 minutes by their free bikes and maybe 30+ minutes walking. But if it's your first time there, it's nice to walk or bike to see Hoi An better. A grab taxi is only about $2, a grab motorcycle 70 cents. Highly recommended!

Lovely place and friendly staff!”
My friend and I were pleasantly surprised. We thought a home stay meant that we should expect less than at a hotel, but this place was better than some of the hotels we stayed at on our travels through S.E. Asia! The building itself is modern, clean, airy. The rooms are spotless. The bathrooms are really nice. The location is good if you want to go to the beach everyday. My friend and I wanted to spend more time in the Old Town which is like a $2-3 ride and 5 minutes by car (make sure you agree on the price first). You can also borrow the cool bikes. We had the staff do two bags of laundry for us and everything came back nice. The breakfast was good. A variety of egg styles, bread, cakes, cheese, ham. The coffee was excellent and try the homemade banana bread. The owners are very nice and speak English well. They arranged our transportation to the airport and it was pretty inexpensive. They also booked us on a bus/boat tour to the nearby My San temple ruins and it only cost us $4! It was great - our guide wasn't as chatty as others, but we got to visit this wonderful sight, we got to take a cool Vietnamese boat back, and they even provided us with a simple, but tasty lunch of fried rice and one drink. It drops you off in old town Hoi An. Pretty fun! We wish you didn't have to have the key in the socket to power the room because it was so hot when we were in Vietnam. When we got back to the room we had to wait for the AC to start filling the room with cold air. This is the way a lot of hotels work in SE Asia, so we got used to it. Overall a great place to stay!!!

Loved the Golden Bell!”
This was an awesome hotel (homestay). The staff were so kind and friendly, the rooms were large and modern and they offered free bicycles for your use. We liked the location because it was a short bike ride to the beautiful An Bang beach but also only about 10 mins to Hoi An ancient town. If you want a peaceful, gorgeous room near the beach I highly recommend you stay here. You won't be disappointed!

Look No Further”
I just can't fault this place, from the time we arrived we were treated so well. The staff were all very friendly & accommodating, giving us lots of help and advice. Breakfast was plentiful and hot food was cooked to order, the building is light and airy, with beautifully appointed rooms and very comfortable beds. The location was perfect, set in a quiet side street a short walk from town and a bike ride from the beach. I would recommend the Golden Belle to anyone looking for somewhere to stay and at the price charged it is a gift.

Superb value for homestay / hotel!”
Fantastic stay! We paid about $25/night for a really nice room with a great view and an full bathroom. The hotel room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and accommodating - I got very sick on the way into Hoi Ann and the owner made me rice and tea mid day. Free bikes to use. Free breakfast (western) and coffee throughout the day. Best hotel stay of our trip so far! I really think this homestay is under-rated... Highly recommend and would stay again!

Very nice homestay!”
The staff was very helpful. They were friendly and answered any question I had. They arranged for my motor bike rental aa well as a reasonable transfer to DaNang via My Son and Marble Mountain. The location was a bit of a ways from both the beach and the Ancient City of Hoi An. Using a bike or motor bike was necessary to explore Hoi An. Just an FYI...the hotel is now charging for their bicycles...they are no longer free. When I originally booked the bicycles were free....and, I think, because of that I was able to use a bike for free during several evenings. Very clean room. The staff even put flowers by my bed stand. Nice breakfast...even prepared a box breakfast when I needed to leave early.

A perfect stay in the middle of Hoi An”
This has been my favorite stay throughout my tour of Vietnam. Very welcoming, accommodating. The location is right in between the beach and ancient town -- so you can experience both sides of Hoi An. They provide a free bike, so can easily explore the area. Definitely consider this place if you're looking for a quiet & friendly homestay :)

The services and the courtesy i received well exceeeded the price i paid. The location is properly located between the beach and the old town, easily accessible on foot/bike while you still could sleep like a baby at night because the surroundings are of a residential areas. The property is well maintained, and as it is run by the family, you just feel safe and cosy while i was staying there. This is an ideal place for me as i am always trying to steer away from lousy travellers . to be fair my overall experience with them is on par to my stays with other 4stars business hotels. Will go back if i somehow pass by hoi an again

Best room I had my entire trip!”
I loved my stay at Golden Bell. The owners were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and abundant. The room was clean, spacious, and beautiful, with a lovely little balcony. It had a fridge and wine that you could purchase. The bed was very comfortable. The location is halfway between the beach and the night market, but there wasn't much going on in the vicinity. They had free bicycle rentals!
