Best resort at a bargain!!”
After our rough transit through the border at Poi Pet, Cambodia (where we were harassed for an hour by a corrupt immigration official asking for a bribe inspite of having a valid e-visa for Cambodia), we arrived safely at the Golden Butterfly Villa, Siem Reap three and a half hours later by car. We were greeted by a very friendly, warm and caring hotel staff who help us relax our minds and win our hearts immediately after the painful experience at the Thailand Cambodia border. We were given cold wet towels to refresh ourselves and served and excellent lemon tea as a welcome drink. Both my wife and I immediately fell in love with the way the staff explained to us about the room details, the free massage services and the raisin rolls that were to follow in the next few days. We had a high floor room with access to balcony. The room was very nice, clean and airy and the bathrooms were well maintained. We stayed here for three days and experienced the superb hospitality and the food from the hotel restaurant which was excellent in quality and arrived on time as always. The free massage was so good and relaxing that we took it for the next days every evening after our tiring trek at the Angkor Wat temple complex. We would very highly recommend this hotel to everyone who visits Siem Reap. An excellent choice at a bargain for people who want the best.

Good stay, but water has copper/rust taste”
Stayed 3 nights in Golden Butterfly Villa, and next 3 nights in Golden Temple Villa. Pros: Free pick-up upon our arrival at the bus station. Driver was punctual. Provided free bicycle that we rode around the vicinity. Locks were provided as well. Staff were excellent and we were greeted by cold towel every time we reached back our hotel Tuk-tuk to angkor wat was arranged by the staff at a reasonable price, 12USD if im not wrong. 30mins free massage was provided as promised, and with massage at 3USD/hour, we went for a couple more times. Located just 10 minutes away from the Old Market and numerous night markets, the location was to die for. Cons: Shower and tap water has a very strong RUST smell. Gave our feedback to the front desk on the 2nd day, and they said that they will fix it. However, nothing changed. It was very disturbing to come out after showering, and smell of copper. It was a challenge to even brush our teeth. What's strange is that this hotel is new, compared to it's sister hotel, Golden Temple Villa. PLEASE GET IT FIXED. We stayed on the 4th floor and with no lift, we have to climb up and down. Not being lazy or anything, but this should be highlighted to people traveling with older people. Wi-fi required logging in every time. Had 1 meal at the restaurant downstairs. Food was cheap and at best average, and we waited a good 30minutes for them to arrive. In a nutshell, I wouldn't stay at this hotel again, largely because of the rust that was soooo annoying. With so many other establishments in Siem Reap offering cheap hotel rates, there would be no harm trying others.

Wonderful little hotel”
One of the best stays of our holiday. Golden Butterfly hotel is quite lovely. The staff are one of its main assets. The hotel is down a small side street, we booked the complimentary pick up from the air port and had the best tuktuk driver in Siem Reap I am sure !!. His name was Angs ( i think I have spelled it right ) he collected us from the airport and we had him for the whole of our stay. We booked a tour to Angkor Wat with the hotel, asking for Angs, and had a great time with him, Angkor Wat and then a tour round Siem Reap, he was very knowledgeable and a nice steady driver, another asset to the hotel. The staff at Golden Butterfly were lovely, very friendly and helpful. Our room was at the back, not much of a view but we hadnt come to admire the view from our room so it was fine. The room was very clean, a little small but more than adequate, the bed was very comfy. The bathroom was modern and clean. The food in the hotel was delicious, my husband said the omelette he had for breakfast along with the fresh crusty bread was one of the best he had ever had. A great hotel.

truthfully being a frequent stayer in budget hotels in the course of travelling, i rate golden butterfly villa as the best value hotel in south east asia. i am amazed at their level of service and personal touch to the guests. some of the highlights of my stay were: - greeted at entrance upon arrival. served with a refreshing welcome drink and wet towels to freshen up. a staff will explain the features of the hotel, chat up about your plans in siem reap. wet towels served at entrance personally everytime you come back from an outing too. - personally escorted up to the room by a staff, upon entrance he will explain the features of the room (dial 0 for operator, etc) - the room is amazing! neatly placed flowers all over the bed, cosy, clean! the booking comes with a free 30 mins massage which you will be escorted to a cosy and dimmed massage room with great full body massage, and free rental of bicycles. - one significant feature about this hotel would be the staffs. i often wonder how such amazing staff service could be possible in a $25 per night hotel. they are dressed in crisp traditional clothes, smiles pasted on their faces, always ready to greet with both palms, personal touch. i was especially touched when my food came late at their restaurant the night before and showed my unhappiness, and later on at night, 3 staffs came knocking on the door with a fruit basket all with palms up repeatedly apologizing with deepest sincerity & remorse on their faces.. it melted my heart. the gm apologised to me the next day too. best hotel ever in my life, i was impacted emotionally.

Perfect for travellers on budget”
Perfect! Location, value for money, services!! When we arrived in siem reap, we were picked up with a free tuktuk from the station to our hotel. When got into the hotel we were served with the freshest of refreshments and complimentary snack. We got into our room within just a few minutes. The hotel staff were very accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. The FREE one hour complimentary massage was AMAZING! On our last day, they let us stay past our checkout time and then let us stay at our room for 10hrs for FREE as our bus out of siem reap is at 11pm. I would recommend this Golden Butterfly Villa!! We enjoyed our stay at the Golden Butterfly Villa right from the moment we arrived there from the airport. Panha greeted us immediately,was very attentive and became a lovely friend. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Panha and the rest of his team. The cold towel and tea every time we returned from a day out were a great hit with everyone. Breakfasts were always great, the rooms very comfortable and clean and the location was perfect. The Golden Butterfly is only 5 minutes walk to excellent restaurants, the famous Pub Street and markets. We made use of the hotel's free bicycles and headed out to Angkor Wat 2 days in a row. The old town bikes were perfect and made our rides loads of fun, but could do with a little maintenance now and then - our only advice to a hotel that was perfect in every way. It was sad leaving Panha and all the other reception staff who made our stay in Siem Reap very memorable and enjoyable.

We had a fantastic stay at the Golden Butterfly Villa, it exceeded our expectations completely! It had been recommended to us by a friend so we knew it would be nice, and it was so much more! The staff were the friendliest we came across in our 6 week trip around Southeast Asia, they made us feel completely at home and went above and beyond for their guests. The hotel itself is beautiful with a wonderful, peaceful atmosphere; upon arriving we were given delicious welcome drinks and just in general were always treated so well! The free massage was great, really needed that after 5 weeks of travelling! The room was very nice, on the small side but it had everything you could need and was very nicely decorated, so the size didn't matter at all. Good internet connection throughout the hotel and a number of computers available to use for free which is always a bonus, especially when travelling for long periods of time! The only complaint would be that the food service is slow, it took 40 minutes for our breakfast to come one morning, meaning that we didn't have time to finish as we were being picked up for a tour of Angkor Wat, so just leave plenty of time to eat; the food itself is delicious and worth the wait! Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone, no matter your age, group size or type of trip! We will definitely be returning if we go back to Siem Reap in the future!

A huge thank you to the staff, who were nothing but accomadating and always had a smile on there face! The rooms are beautifully designed as is the foyer with a lovely little fish pond surrounding the exterior of the foyer. I booked my room at the Golden Butterfly Villa relatively late, only a day before traveling to Siem Reap. I didn't expect to find a "quality" place in such a good location. Upon arriving, I was impressed. Everyone working here were happy and ready/willing to help with whatever I needed. The room was cozy. The food offered a nice mix between western and Khmer. The location was closer to the market and night life than I had expected. My recommendation to anyone staying here: allow them to book you your trips. They assure you the best price and the drivers are very good and friendly. When I took up an "outside" driver for a trip, he took advantage of me being a "foreigner" and tacked on a "few extra dollars" while assuring me I was getting the "best price". Enjoy your stay!

The Best Budget Hotel in Siem Reap”
Our stay at Golden Butterfly Villa was very enjoyable. The rooms and facilities were great for our needs. The location was near the night market and pub street. We were very impressed with the warm hospitality of all the staff we met. Especially, Ms Dara, the front desk manager, who was excellent in all aspects. She helped us with tour advice, booking transportations, and lots of other things. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit Siem Reap, and would definitely stay at this hotel everytime we get to visit Siem Reap in future

Golden Butterfly Villa is my favorite hotel yet that I've booked through Agoda. I would recommend it to any group type traveling to Siem Reap. It's an eight-minute leisurely walk away from Pub Street, which makes it easy to get around the major dining areas and markets. The staff are extremely attentive and hospitable. The rooms are in good condition and to top it off, the hotel provided complimentary snacks when we left at 5am to watch the sunrise in Angkor Wat and also extended complimentary massage for two. Superb facilities and service for a budget hotel!

I stayed here for 7 days and this is the best hotel so far in Siem Reap. With $30, you get free airport pickup, 1 hour free massage, 1 picnic basket, free bike rental and cold towel and ice lemon tea for each time u come back to the hotel. The room and toilet is really clean.Their staffs are very friendly and very helpful. The Villa is situated near the night market and pub street where everything is within walking distance. The staff at Golden Butterfly Villa were amazing, they were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and could not do enough for the guests. I arrived 5 am Sunday morning and they were happy to check me in immediately and showed me to a lovely and very clean room. I was given coupons for free breakfast every day and a free hour massage included in the room price. The hotel was really nice and in a great location (just a 5 minute walk to pub street and the night markets). I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who was looking to stay in Siem Reap.

Great stay with no stress”
Golden Butterfly was a wonderful place to stay for our trip in Siem Reap. We got picked up at the airport, so no hustling from the TukTuk's. The hotel is very close to the old market and beer street but far away to have a peaceful sleep at night. Tons of local and international restaurants to choose from. There is a school close by that can be noisy but you should be out at the temples during the day. Savathe (please excuse the bad spelling) was the best! He was a friendly receptionist, our TukTuk driver and guide for our stay. The hotel also gives well priced set rates for tours around the temples. This is essential as the hustle from other TukTuk guys can ruin your trip entirely. All in all, Thank you Golden Butterfly for making our trip so stress free and enjoyable.

A great option for Siem Reap”
So many hotel options in Siem Reap, they can start to look the same after a while. We loved Golden Butterfly Villa, and the price (although not the cheapest option) is a great value! Pros: Perfect location close to Pub Street and Night Market, but not too close that it was noisy. Free airport pick up and 1 hour free massage for both of us! Spacious room, very clean and great water temperature and pressure. Cons: No pool, school in front of hotel can be noisy if you're getting a midday nap!

From check in to check out this hotel and the staff where exceptional. On arrival we were greeted with a cold towel, a complimentary lemon ice tea and nibbles. We received free breakfast each morning and a free 1 hour massage each. The room was very clean, well decorated, had AC and an electric fan - Everything you need. The manager, Richard was excellent and whatever you queried or wanted, nothing was ever too much trouble, he would do everything to help you to ensure you enjoyed your stay at Golden Butterfly. A brilliant manager! The staff were great too with a smile always on their faces and always there to help. They arranged a private tuk tuk driver for one of our days out and he spoke excellent English. We requested a late check out and this was accommodated no problem at a small fee of only $5. We ate a few times in the hotel restaurant and the food is very fresh and tasty. The burgers are the best in Siem Reap! Everything is very close by such as Pub street and lots of tasty restaurants and bars. Overall an excellent stay and we would highly recommend staying at the Golden Butterly.

Friendly, Cheap, and Comfortable”
I arrived in Siem Reap around 11pm, so finding the hotel was a little difficult. The streets in parts of Siem Reap are not particularly well lit. After asking directions from a few people, I found it. Check in was very quick, as they could tell I was eager to get to bed. The room was quite spacious, with a nice bathroom, balcony, and fan/ air conditioner. There was also a DVD player with 2 DVDs about Angkor Wat and the Killing Fields. Overall, the room was very cozy and comfortable. During my entire stay, the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. They helped me arrange a bus ticket for the next leg of my trip, ensured that I would have transportation to the bus terminal, and even called multiple times to confirm everything with the company just to be sure. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel had free bicycle rentals for guests. They sent me off with a bike, lock, some bottles of water, and a pleasant "ride safe and have a nice day!" After several hours of biking around Angkor Archaeological Park, I was quite exhausted, and headed back to the hotel. As soon as I walked in, the staff brought out some iced tea and a plate of plantain chips for me. I decided to stick around for lunch, and it was delicious. Check out was a breeze as well. The level of customer service was absolutely astounding, and I would certainly book there again if I return to Siem Reap.

Home away from home”
It was my sister's and my first visit to Siem Reap but Golden Butterfly Villan us feel right at home. They had a tuktuk driver fetch us from the airport at midnight (our flight was delayed by 1.5 hours). The same driver took us to the temples that we visited during our 3-day stay. Because we arrived very late the night receptionist suggested that we rest first then check-in in the morning. We booked a twin room with a balcony and were assigned to room 106. The room was tastefully decorated and had large windows that took in some of the morning sun. There were heavy curtains to screen it if you wanted to sleep in late. The hot and cold shower had strong water pressure. The bed was comfortable, the pillows were thick and fluffy, and the sheets were clean. I think their dining facility was run by Khmer Kitchen restaurant. Breakfast was filling: we usually ordered bread and scrambled eggs. Guests can help themselves to free coffee, tea, bananas. On our last day, Mr. Richard was very nice to offer us complimentary use of another room until our departure at 10pm. This way we had a place to keep our luggage and to rest and shower before we took the bus to Vietnam.

I highly recommend a Stay at the Golden Butterfly Villa. There are more lavish accommodations available in the area. And there are cheaper beds for rent. But if you are interested in getting the most out of your vacation investment, then Golden Butterfly Villa stands above the rest. Great food, Excellent massage service (you'll need it after hiking up all the temple stair cases), Close to town but not close enough to hear it. Polite and helpful staff, the list goes on. All this at a price that I couldn't match anywhere else. Three day visit”
I traveled to Cambodia from Thailand in order to have my passport stamped and used the opportunity to vist Siem Reap. We stayed here for the duration and the Golden Butterfly Villa was first class. Staff very friendly, accommodation very clean and good location. I highly recommend this place if your looking for B&B type accommodation that offers the service of any world class hotel.
