A gem of a hotel.”
After having some less than satisfactory experience with hotels in Myanmar - with one or two exceptions - we were more than pleasantly surprised by Golden Dream, which lived up to its name. Located in an old quarter of Mandalay (there is a neat old shop-style market just around the corner), Golden Dream is a newer hotel which seems almost out of place in its surroundings. From the very start, the friendly and attentive staff made every effort to make us feel welcome and taken care of. We loved the rooftop restaurant, where the breakfast, though standard fare, was adequate and fresh. The room was comfortable and impeccably clean, as was the bathroom. No hesitation in highly recommending this lovely hotel.

Beautiful rooms and good value for money”
I had a very nice stay at the Golden Dream and thought it was quite good value for money. The little breakfast buffet was so delicious I have nice flavours memories. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, as well as being nicely furnished. Mr Choo Tay (spelt phonetically) and Ms San were lovely and very helpful. The hotel isn't conveniently located in terms of shops and places to eat, but that is typical in Mandalay because there hasn't been any thought given to tourist precincts. The hotel has bicycles and scooters/motorbikes available for hire.

Excellent Staff”
This hotel was value for money for Mandalay in low season. The location is a bit off the beaten track, and like all of Mandalay, is a bit noisy, but at least the noise isn't car horns. You have to walk through a busy market to get to and from downtown and also there is a morning market directly opposite the hotel. But the hotel has double glazing which helps to cut down the noise and heat. Breakfast is great and desk staff will help you with transport for the same price as buying tickets direct from the bus company. All staff are very kind and helpful. We stayed there a total of 10 days and were sad to leave. Also, we work online and were happy with the speed of the wifi there.

Great Hotel .Busy Location ”
I enjoyed my stay here . I must say it is in a busy part of town with a local market across from the Hotel so it was a little noisy but in saying that the windows did keep the noise out . The room was clean , water pressure was excellent , also a bonus was bycycle and motorcycle hire where available at the motel for an excellent price . The breakfast was good with excellent variety and the staff where very helpful. It is a bit of out of the way for decent food with it being a decent 15 minute walk up to the restaurant area close to the railway station . In saying that tho everything is available inbthe area including modern 7 Eleven type shops . Their is also a large Pagoda very close by for some time out and to pay Homage . I enjoyed my time at this Hotel and foundnit modern , clean and very comfortable . I would recommend this Hotel to anyone wanting *middle of the road* type accommodation and I will stay again when I return to Mandalay some time soon .

Very happy with this place, owners were so kind”
One of the best hotels I've stayed at in quite a while. there was a whole team of cleaners every morning cleaning the rooms. The owners and staff in general are so kind and helpful. The breakfast is huge and sets you up for quite a large part of the day. The rooms are comfortable, good mattresses and everything is clean, which in dust filled Mandalay is a real treat.

We enjoyed our stay! The staffs were super friendly and could answer all our questions. We hired a motorbike through the hotel to escape from busy Mandalay one day, it was perfect. Though, the breakfast is not incredible.

We had a pleasant three-night stay at the Golden Dream hotel. Clean simple and spaceous rooms. Helpful and nice staff. Breakfast was ok with toast, egg, some regional food and coffee. Overall good value for few money.

Great value luxury ”
A great hotel run by friendly and very helpful staff. The rooms are extremely spacious, clean and luxurious with good private bathrooms. The breakfast buffet severed each morning is decent and can be enjoyed on the lovely roof terrace. The staff are very willing to assist in providing guidance about the surrounding area and helped us to organise our onward travel. Bicycles can be hired for 1000mmk. This is a delightful hotel and excellent value. We will be staying again!

What a deal! Very impressed with Golden Dream”
Amazing place to stay for an incredibly good price. We stayed 2 nights and were very comfortable. The bathrooms were very clean as well as the bed, TV in the room, AC, and the breakfast was great up on the roof. Only thing that could have been better was the wifi on our floor never worked and for some reason they were unable to get it reset. Had to be out of the room to use it. Inconvenient, but mothing major. Also a long ways from anything relevant though the staff was accommodating on getting taxis or buses set up.

Staff attentive and pleasant but not very useful. Told them that tv remote in my room was not working - noted, thanked but no action. Asked where to go for dinner - pointed two restaurants round the corner. There were no english menu, I did not manage even to explain that I came to eat. Coffee? was the only word they could tel me:).Booked taxi for morning, agreed price which was fare base on my Mandalay experience. Got motorbike taxi for the price o regular.

Friendly & Efficient”
I loved the fact that the hotel was located some way away from the main tourist district, close to a local market. The only disadvantage was that many of the trishaw cyclists didn't know where the hotel was, so we spent some time circling around the area to find it on each occasion that I took a trishaw to get back there. Otherwise everything was great.

Early Check-In”
We arrived at 4 am at the hotel and they let us into the room without extra charge although we only booked the one night afterwards. Breakfast is nice. Only bad thing is, that they charged us for a bottle out of the minibar that we didn't took. So next time please check beforehand. In total very nice stay.

We booked this hotel because it was one of the cheapest one and we were really happy with it! Really big rooms clean, amazing breakfast buffet on the roof top. Staff friendly! No elevator and 4 floor... just in case for people that can trouble!

This Hotel is good. The room we stayed was new and very clean. The bed was comfortable. Aircon, flat TV inside room. Breckfast was nothing special...they schuld improof! But would stay again because of the nice room.

The hotel located just in front of local market but can setup interior environment quiet and calm. The manager and his assistance mindful attention to help us. . Bike me to exchange money in the off banking hour. Breakfast on the rooftop was small set of buffet and very tasty the only thing I dont like was, there were many small birds come to pickup the food since they placed them on the open air table.

It's not really a walking distance to walk to the city but not too far with bike. Very helpful and friendly staffs, clean and confortable room. To have a room like this in this price in Myanmar, totally worth the money.

New hotel, great location”
The rooms are brand new and nice. The staff are helpful, and the location is great. The first time we stayed we booked online but the staff didn't seem to know we were coming. The second time we arrived in the middle of the night, without a reservation, and the staff were just great finding a room and telling us it was "ok to sort out the details in the morning". Unfortunately, while the Wifi works fantastically it does not connect to the internet. Breakfast (included in the price) was juice, eggs, toast, butter and jam and good coffee!

Very Comfy, Very Local, Close to Zegyo Market”
The stay was very nice. Clean and comfortable rooms. The electricity went out for a few minutes a couple times. Right in the heart of local markets, noone speaks English, but are friendly. There is a tea house right down the street and I met locals and had fun trying to communicate. Walking distance from Zegyo and Clocktower. Great breakfast and sunset on roof! They sold super cheap postcards and stamps and even mailed them for me. I arranged an overnight bus to Yangon which was the most anazing bus I ever took in Asia from ELite Business Class Bus. Love it. If you like to be in local action come here!
