    “Pleasantly surprised ”

    We booked this room thinking we booked the Golden Nuggget. Initially I was very concerned but this hotel was wonderful. It’s older but has some really neat charm to it. The rooms were small but newer nightstands and beds. The mattress was very comfortable and the bathroom was adorable, older style tile but very adorable. The hotel and rooms were very clean. It’s right on the main drag of Fremont Street Experience and has FREE VALLET OR SELF PARK for customers staying at the hotel. It’s a quaint little hotel in a great location with some great perks with a great price tag! P.s. the bedroom windows open! Which is a nice feature. You can hear the party from Fremont street the hotel is in the end of the street next to the live band stand. Pink box doughnuts is right out the look aside door of the Golden Gate casino which made it really easy to grab some yummy doughnuts and coffee in the morning! We will definitely stay at the Golden Gate Hotel again.

    “Work Vacation”

    Stayed in one of the classic rooms from the earliest days in Vegas. Small (product of the era) but comfortable with a good-sized bathroom. Can be a little loud but it wasn't an issue for us. Great location and the property offers free valet parking and nightly open bar and free slot-play tickets. Those things alone make it a must!

    “Clean Comfortable stay ”

    Layout of the room is tiny, yet cozy feeling. The bathroom door only opens half way due to the toilet being there. Clean, not much counter to put stuff on, just put necessities in there. Nice shower, old school tub faucet. I had asked for quiet section and they gave the backside of the street which is 95% quiet. I was on the 2nd floor so I could hear few cars go by and some people’s chatter. I slept through it all. I kept curtains closed since it overlooks the street and people can see in. Bed was comfortable with 3 pillows. Lamps both sides of bed work, nice clock.. Very tight closet space. As clothes will lean against the iron board and iron. As with all hotels, you can always hear people walking pass your room. So if you can hear them, they probably can hear you. I can hear the people across from me when someone knocked on there door. Oh the temperature in room only has two settings, turn on for heat or close off for room temperature of current weather outside. Overall I had a good experience in this original historic hotel. Go explore it you you may find some historical artifacts! I found a hidden original fountain! If you happen to go early before check in, check with front desk and if they not busy, they may let you check in early if they are not busy.

    “Goldengate casino experience .”

    Everything was fine , but when I got there, I had too wait an hour & half for a sm[king room, because said in the invoice that I wanted a smoking room and the artistry said a smoking room, and the guy who checked me in , said there was no smoking rooms available and I had to wait until they cleaned a room. Ok but then he charged me $20 more when I was already charge for a smoking room when I booked the room. But outside of that, it was great.

    “Very good”

    There are no refrigerators in an6 of the rooms. Coffee is provided at the casino bar, but quality of coffee was poor and just luke warm! Cooling or heating fan inside duct was loud and annoying ! Otherwise rooms were clean and tidy!
