Disappointted with Extra Charges”

I was booked the room through Agoda. Location, Price per night, Cleanliness and Facilities are perfect even though it is cheap and single room. I was informed in website that I'll be check in late (7-8am) and checkout lat at 3pm. 1st disappointment: Staff was not aware on this request when I wanted to check in. 2nd disappointment: I was charged RM40 to check-out late that is at 3pm. I think it is too expensive as compared to charge per night (just RM37/night excluding tax).

Clean and quiet”

Check in was easy, staff was polite. The rooms were clean, beds very comfortable, air conditioning worked well, although a little noisy. Fairly quiet despite being along the main road through town. It would have been better of rooms had hot water kettle for guests to boil water and make own drinks. Nevertheless hotel was value for money. Will choose to stay here again.

Although location is near town but is along the main road so passing vehicles tend to be noisy. Room facilities very limited. No coffee or tea making in room. Not even hair dryer. Asked staff to lend a hair dryer also cannot provide.

Fair place to slept dead”

+ Fast WiFi + Got Qiblat indicator + Free limited parking after 5pm - No lift just stairs till 3rd floor - Old school TV with no USB - Door lock sensors wonky - No plug beside bed. Just one extra plug behind TV Recommended for travellers just resting at night since places nearby bit dead but quite noisy due to infront of main Segamat road. Day will be hectic with limted parking space due to Hotel is alongside Poslaju branch. Be warned no hotel own official receipt will be issued for online based booking. Staff also reluctant to issue for our company claim purpose. Not recommended for business traveller.

No Elevator and Unfriendly Staff”

This hotel has no elevator. I was given a room at second floor. My husband and I arrived with 2 large luggages, a hand-carried bag, a milk basket, a backpack and 2 young children (aged 2 and 5 years old). One can imagine the hassle we had to go through carrying our stuff and managing 2 young children up the stairs. The hotel staff did not bother to assist us in carrying the bags up to our room. There were only us checking in at that particular moment. The room cleanliness was average with musty smell. Bathroom design is outdated but clean. The cups, saucers, and spoons were dusty. We didn't use them at all. Outdated TV model and reception was bad. AC function was good. I will not stay in this hotel again.

There are better hotels around Segamat. This hotel used to be value for money but with time, I guess it regressed. The door and walls are wafer thin and you can hear almost every noise. The toilet stinks probably because of a leak somewhere. Hot water in the shower takes a long time to reach you. Only book this hotel as a last resort. Oh - there are two other Golden Lake hotels in town. One is beside a so-called garden and the other I can't be bothered to remember.
