Great hotel and neat room but not so pleasant service ”
Golden Lake Hotel is the only 5-star hotel in Kinmen; so, it really looks fancy and fabulous. I really thought so does the service! However, I remember there’s one night when I ran out of the shampoo which they only offer one tiny bottle a day! Then I called the front desk asking one more. Their response gave me a hard time: “I’m sorry but the toiletries we offer a day are fixed; that is, no more extra supply. If you need some more, you can go to the duty free stores right next to the hotel.” Then the receptionist on the phone just hung up. I was like.. really? Just a bottle of shampoo? Is that so much of a big deal? Anyway, the hotel itself truly is second to none in Kinmen; yet, the service is less than what I expected from its 5-star level.

Great hotel for the price. The superior twin room.was very spacious and comfortable, and service was excellent. The breakfast was a serious letdown though. A huge spread, and fine dining room, but the hot food was mostly cold and carelessly cooked, and indifferent quality.

The hotel is wonderful, the best on the island. That said, the hotel understands its market position and charges a disproportionate price. As long as you're comfortable paying an inflated premium, the hotel is lovely.

Attentive staff with comfortable room.”
Great service with attentive staff. I missed my breakfast as they close at 930am but staff was nice enough to look for some bread and coffee for me. Hotel is also connected to a duty free shopping mall but visitors must be aware that they will only allow you to pick up your most of your shopping at the Ferry Terminal for visitors returning / going to Xiamen. For the rest it will be pick up from their domestic airport. It is important however

Not a full fledge hotel ”
Their room service ends at 11pm sharp due to their system control. Staff who attended to the two issues I raised (where the room service request was one of them) were not forthcoming enough in offering solutions (e.g. If system is closed at 11pm, staff can offer packaged snacks offered on the menu as alternative, and have the bill charged the next day when system is up). Given that all shops close early around the hotel, guests are even more dependent on the hotel for facilities, which unfortunately Everrich did not see it.

Not bad, but the service can be improved.”
The facility was new, room was pretty neat! But the pool boy at the swimming pool basically doing nothing when we were in there, he wasn't even watching us and the baby, just stayed at the in-door lobby. Also, the service at the breakfast buffet can also be improved, staffs were serving the meal without any smile on their faces... They looked tired and unwilling to serve.
