It is very well located with all amenities you need within walking distance. It is also very clean and trendy and the staff are friendly and willing to help.

Excellent value for hostel”
Stayed 3 nights here, overall is clean and neat. Location is bit off the fancy touristy area but I had the chance to experience the real (local) Bangkok at night. It is near to Ran Jay Fai, Thipsamai, Wat Saket, and other good stuff. Walking to MRT station isn't too far, Sam Yod is about 10 minutes walk distance and Phanfa Pier is about 7 minutes.

Great location away from the chaos of Khao San Rd but close enough to enjoy all the temples and usual tourists attractions. The room was spacious, confortable and clean, same for the shared facilities. The staff was helpful and kind. Highly recommend!

If you stay in this hostel, must visit Wat Saket at night, you may have the great night view of the whole Bangkok city. Furthermore, must try the pat thai @ Pad Thai Thip Samai

The fact that shared bathroom is the only option for the stay was not written in their profile. However, we were impressed by the consistent cleanliness of the facilities especially the comfort room. The place is a bit hard to find and a bit far from the center. We spent a lot for grab services. But overall, we had a good stay.

Clean, comfortable hostel close to tourist sites”
My stay at Golden Mountain Hostel was great. The beds are very comfortable and you have a curtain to close off your bed space for privacy. The hostel is cleaned every day and seems to remain clean throughout the day. There is a smoking/eating room that looks out onto one of the canals (it's not a nice view, but it's interesting). There is a space on the second floor for socializing and there were pretty cool people to meet. The one little inconvenience is the location. Walking 10-15 minutes will get you to Khao San Road or numerous temples on the river. However, there aren't many restaurants nearby. There is a 7-Eleven a few minutes away though. If you do not want to do the touristy, backpacker thing, don't stay here because everything else is closer to the center (malls, the BTS, the downtown area, etc.). Also, it was really difficult trying to explain where the hostel is. The best thing to do is tell taxi/tuk-tuk drivers that the hostel is near Golden Mountain in Katsumet, and then give them specific directions when you get close. Overall, pretty great place.

An absolute gem”
I had the pleasure of staying at Golden Mountain Hostel after a few nights at a dingy hotel on Khao San Road. I was absolutely floored with the standard of amenities at this place. The lobby, the beds, the rooms, the bathrooms, the showers, everything was exquisite. I'e never, ever, stayed at a hostel so nice. It was so nice, I could bring my mother, no, my grandmother there, and she would be comfortable! I will definitely be back!

Exceptional”
It has really very comfortable beds and very clean cold rooms. Just about 200 meters to golden Mount Temple and just about 1.6 Km of the Royal Palace, Khaosan Road, Temple of the Emerald Buddha. At the back road of the hostel is the famous Pad Thai Restaurant in Bangkok and some cheap Hawker/Food Stalls. Can you have at least free coffee.

1.Located right next to Golden Mountain Temple, best view of Bangkok!! Besides, nice food vendors are all along the alley, not even have to mention 7-11s. So no need to worry about what to eat for breakfast. 2.The air conditioner! Strong enough to forget about the unbearable heat. 3.The bathroom is clean, so clean! The bed is soft with a curtain on it, so privacy should be given. 4.Khao San Road is in walking distance. Cab drivers are almost never willing to ride you by meters, but from my experiences, 100 Bhats is enough to take you everywhere! Besides, you can also try the unique waterway, experiencing the daily lift of local people. I took the boat to see coldplay concert, and it's only 10 Bhats.

The hostel is very stylish and spotlessly clean. It is a good central location - not quite as close to some of the major attractions (Palace, Wat Pho etc) as you would be if you stayed in the Khaosan Rd area, but more centrally located for things like the Jim Thompson house, Chinatown, shopping malls etc. There isn't a huge choice of restaurants right outside your front door (like there is in Khaosan Rd), but we found that on the road parallel to our road (Maha Chai Rd) there was a great choice of restaurants, including what's meant to be the best Pad Thai in Bangkok at Thipsami restaurant! We had a private double room which was lovely and spacious and very clean and comfortable. Biggest downside was that most of the staff speak next to no English so interactions were difficult and they weren't able to give us recommendations or really answer our questions.

Golden Mountain Hostel is a great place to stay!”
I loved this hostel for many reasons. One huge thing for me was that they safely stored my luggage while I traveled in Thailand for nearly two months. I had total peace of mind that my things would be safe when I returned, and they were. The hostel is kept immaculately clean and it's well located near Khao San Road (about a 10 minute walk) but away from all the crowds and noise. At night the street it's located on is blissfully quiet with a majestic view of The Golden Mount Temple all lit up. The hostel feels more like a home than a hostel and offers a quiet, safe and relaxing environment. All in all a nice place to stay that is excellent value for the money.
