Las Vegas Golden Nugget Review”

The hotel is great. It is right on the Fremont Experience. The new waterslide through the shark tank is awesome.
Still some construction going on.

We were at the Golden Nugget for a reunion and thouroughly enjoyed it. The hotel room we were given was very nice and at a reasonable price. When we walked through the pool area we were amazed with private cabanas, waterfalls and even a waterslide through a giant aquarium filled with ocean fish. The casino is very beautiful and not overly smoky. When you walk out the front doors of the casino you are right on Fremont Street. What an experience that was, sounds and lights everywhere and even a Knight Rider Car show. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone who wishes to stay downtown Las Vegas.

Downtown Gem!”

Beautiful pool, friendly, helpful staff, (for the most part), Noodle House Restaurant was awesome.
Constantly being approached by time-share salespeople, Gordie Brown video bombardment, having to pay extra for everything from internet to USA Today, to the fitness center.

The Golden Nugget was a unique experience for our group. Previously we had all stayed in Strip hotels, and as I expected, Fremont Street and the Golden Nugget were laid back and perfect for us. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The front desk staff, bellman, and housekeepers were all very friendly and helpful. The Noodle House restaurant had some of the best Asian food my family has had, including the sushi. I was a bit put off by the charges for things that at other hotels in other cities were complimentary. Such as USA Today, use of the hotel fitness center, and internet service. In this economy, it seems a daily newspaper could have been included. Perhaps with the cost of my $8 Bloody Mary! I would also suggest that the hotel is actually sending their guests screaming in terror at the thought of sitting through the Gordie Brown Show. After 5 days at the Golden Nugget, riding the elevators with the continuous video loop of Gordie highlights, his show was the last thing our family wanted to see. Mostly though, we would highly recommend the Golden Nugget to our friends!

Excellent hotel with great gaming and night life”

Food was outstanding at sit down restaurants. Great gaming and bards.

We had an excellent stay at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino. Food was outstanding at the sit down and Habachi restaurant. Make sure to ask for Kong!! He is a riot. Excellent activities and night life at the hotel and on Fremont street. Our room was actually quite dated. AC was very loud and didn't work well. Our bathtub was also rusty, moldy, and wouldn't drain. Definitely not what I would have expected having paid for an "upgrade" in the Carson Tower.

Greats all around”

This was my first time, and my family's first time staying the Golden Nugget. The staff was helpful at check in, the room was basic but met our needs completely. We ate at the buffet twice, once for lunch and once for breakfast, and the food and the selections were excellent. The pool area was the highlight. There is an aquarium that you can swim up to and look in, and there is a slide that goes through the aquarium. We ordered snacks and drinks and they brought him right to our loungers and you can also play some of the card games at the pool area. The hotel is on Fremont Street. There are plenty of things to look at and do there. We were there on a Tuesday and Wednesday night, so not too many weirdos were out, but still enough to have good people watching. 5 stars all around for this place.

great hotel, beautiful room, fantastic service”

the hotel sells itself

I have stayed at the golden nugget many times before, however, this time I loved the changes that were made. The entire hotel and casino in my opinion became totally first class over and beyond the surrounding hotels and even better than alot of hotels on the strip. Some of the hotels on the strip are now showing their wear and soon need to do some re-modeling as you did with the golden nugget. I guess now you have the up-town class with the down-town flavor. The service were always great in my opinion and also got even better. When i checked in, the desk personel were busy with other costomers. The hotel manager actually came over to help and took me over to the prioty desk who were't busy at the tlme and expedited my check in. That I thought was doing alittle extra and using alot of sense.

excellent location in downtown next to Fremont Street, great dining, 15 minutes to the airport, no resort fees

if you want a no frills reasonably priced non smoking hotel area that is located within ready access to major highways for trips to the strip, then this is the place for you. in addition to the excellent restaurants and proximity to the fremont street extravaganza this hotel offers a large swimming with a water slide tube that safely runs through a shark tank. if you want to hit the night life of the strip you are just about ten minutes away by car or taxi. oh, and by the way, the hotel offers just about all of the typical gaming options las vegas is noted for.

Happy Hawaiian”

Friendly valet, easy check-in with knowledgable staff and comfortable rooms at a great price!

I'm a worried wart when it comes to booking hotels; my home for the week needs to be clean, comfy and the water pressure in the shower can't be a trickle (with my long hair it'd take forever to wash!). All my worries faded staying at the Golden Nugget: check-in was a breeze with no hiccups and my requests were accommodated, the hotel is really clean (I witnessed the hotel staff cleaning nightly) and most hotel staff are friendly. I cabbed it during my entire stay & it was easy to signal a driver from the valet area. One night the doorman made a recommendation on a luxury limo company & I stuck to that driver for the rest of my stay. WHEN I come back, Golden Nugget will be my hotel of choice!

Golden Nugget & Casino Las Vegas”

Modern decor and amenities
Minor issues with the room

Our stay at the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino was good. The decor and facilites of the hotel were nice. The center piece of the hotel is its swimming pool and large aquarium that holds sharks other giant fish. There is a decent buffet restaurant within the hotel and the hotel is located on Fremont Street where all the Downtown action is. Minor issues with the room were cigarette smell from the air conditioner in what was supposed to be a non-smoking room; mold in the bathroom; half-used lotion bottle; excessive wait for parking elevators.

pool, buffet, location

we stayed a few nights at another hotel downtown and then moved to the golden nugget for two extra nights. the pool looked really great but was very busy with lots of children so we didn't take much advantage of it. the champagne brunch at the buffet was good for the price. the other restaurants in the hotel were also good. the location is great right on freemont street, really close to lots of entertainment and dining options.

first time to stay downtown, it was great.”

clean, friendly staff

First of all let me say, I have been to Vegas 15-20 times but never stayed downtown. We come out every first weekend of December with a group of contractors and this year it was suggested we stay downtown. I was against it but went along with the group. We decided on the Nugget and couldn't be happier. I will definately be staying there on all of my future trips. It was inviting from the time we checked in on Friday morning. That was the first pleasant surprise, we were able to check in in the morning and not have to wait till later in the afternoon. Now maybe this wouldn't be possible if there were more things going on some other visit but it sure was nice. The rooms were spacious and more importantly, very clean. I also like the multiple choices of places throughout the casino to grab a snack or cup of coffee. I felt the blackjack dealers I encountered were very friendly and when I placed football bets in the sports book, the staff handed me some complimentary drink tickets which is huge. Overall it was a great experience and as I said earlier, I will be staying there in the future.

Quality, price, location

We have stayed at several hotels in Vegas, mainly on the strip, and just discovered the Golden Nugget. Now this hotel is at the top of our lodging list for our frequent Vegas visits. It's a great place, not too big and crowded in a perfect location for fun and very customer friendly. Thank you!

The Golden Nugget is golden fun!”

Convenient to downtown Las Vegas, many fun areas, comfortable room

The room was clean, decorated for relaxing, very comfortable. We especially enjoyed our dinner at Lillies Asian Cuisine Restaurant. Loved the appetizer platter, and we were served beautifully by a Chinese man who spent time chatting with us. We enjoyed it so much, we went back again the following night! Tne casino was full of many different areas to truly have fun, in addition to being open to the street that has a huge cover with video presentations and is open to strolling to take in the sidewalk entertainers and music. Best hotel in downtown Las Vegas!

Great Hotel, staff, location, and services”

Clean rooms, great staff, lots of attention to your needs.

This is our second stay at the Golden Nugget and we will be back again. The rooms are clean, the hotel is clean, the staff extremely attentive and polite plus Freemont St. is a blast. The Nugget offers everything the so called upscale hotels on the strip do at a much more reasonable price along with all the appropriate or same trimmings. If you want to go to the strip it is a 10 minute drive or 20 minute bus ride. We had such a good time in our four days there we never went up to the strip. Bravo you guys do it right.

pool, slide, convenient

It was relaxing, and the pool was nice for kids. It's not an extremely large pool, but it does have a cool water slide that goes through a shark tank. Younger kids would really enjoy it. It was nice to be away from the busy section of the Strip, but is just a brief car trip from the newer casinos. Traffic was very light around the golden nugget and the parking was convenient. The room was comfortable and had a large TV. It was clean and is right on the Fremont Street Experience.

Vegas Wedding”

Very nice hotel on Fremont. Staff was very nice all around. Check-in/check-out process was super slow and needed more people manning the counters. Aside from that, everything was wonderful. We were upgraded to a suite in the Rush Tower, and all the room amenities were fantastic. Restaurants were pretty good, although Red Sushi wasn't the best sushi place we've been to. Gambling was fun, but we aren't much of gamblers so we can't say too much! Wedding Chapel and organization was great! Our friends (the wedding couple) were upgraded to an amazing 2-floor honeymoon Suite in the Spa Tower that was FANTASTIC! Location on Fremont was perfect and near everything. Overall fantastic first time in Vegas!!

Chart House Restuarant was GREAT, Location to Fremont Experience GREAT, Casino was not filled with cigarette smoke - Good

Good I will stay there again and possibly each time I visit from this point forward. I would hope there would be an "express" check in line to eliminate the considerable wait in line to check in. The "deuce" was very convenient for me to travel from the Golden Nugget to the strip. Did not have to move my car but twice to go to the gym and have dinner with fraternity members in the community of Vegas.

Old Favourit and still a good choice”

Affordable, everything you need under one roof!
long queues at check-in, crowded pool area

The Golden Nugget is good value for money. For one night in the old town area of Vegas you can't go wrong. There are good eating options from buffet to Starbucks to Cantonese. It's nice to be able to walk out the door onto traffic free Fremont street. We arrived at approx 4pm and the check-in queue was long, we waited at least 30mins. Lilies the Cantonese restaurant we ate in was very good. The breakfast buffet is cheap but don't expect good food. There is a lot of food but the quality isn't great - I guess you get what you pay for.
