I like to stay at the Golden Sand Hotel. I lived there for the second time. Convenient location and the room itself on the second floor I really like. I think I will come here again.

Good location but very basic rooms”

The hotel was in a good location, we took a open tour bus to Mui Ne and were dropped off within walking distance of the hotel. It was close to restaurants and bars although was far from the main strip. We were able to walk to the Fairy Stream from the hotel (despite being told by the hotel staff that this was not possible). The rooms were not very clean and the bedding was awful. The staff kept trying to push tours and were quite rude.

Other than the location (about 40min walk to the Fairy Stream; 20min to the food court; close to all the shops) and the pleasant day-time staff there really isn't too much to this hotel. The rooms are AWFUL. Our room had a constant smell of sewage emanating from the bathroom. No fan could get rid of it, not that it would matter as the room did not have any windows (other than the one that faced into the hallway and had to keep shut), The sheets were also a terrible yellow colour which reminded me of puke and sweat...not necessarily something you want to sleep on. Along with the strange lighting, smelly bathroom and the uncomfortable bed this made a poor guest house experience. The worst we have had in our 2 month trip so far. The rooms definitely need a facelift!

A couple of nights in case of need, no more”

The rooms lack sound isolation and in most of them the windows look onto corridor. Watchout for linen - it's synthetic and very unpleasant to touch. Probably the bed has bugs in it - I left the hotel with lots of scratchy bites.

Kind staff but very dirty room ”

The room was very dirty and smell like mold, it’s not well lite and ventilated. We found cockroaches one night. One of the male staff was very kind to us, but I still wouldn’t recommend the property unless they take better care of the facilities.
