Comfortable hotel with great food.”
This was my second time to stay at Goldfinch Mangalore. I was not able to book through Agoda for my first nite, so I had to book direct and it cost me twice as much as I paid through Agoda. The staff are very helpful and attentive. The health club was all but non existent, although I understand they are building one on the roof level. The free breakfast was nothing special, but very adequate. The Kabob Restaurant is rated the #1 restaurant in Mangalore, and after eating there, I can understand why.
it's a business hotel first and a local meeting point close behind. as we were tourists heading south on the train and breaking the journey to try out mangalore, it would be unfair of us to compare with a tourist hotel. neither the hotel nor mangalore offers the foreign tourist very much, and the lack of a bar/lounge is indeed a visible omission even i guess for an indian business person let alone a tourist. the two restaurants were very good and especially the kebab one on i think floor 4. the rooms and hotel were spotless and staff polite and efficient.
The Goldfich was a sanctuary away from the bustle of the streets, when you walk in you are greeted by the doorman into the newly paved entrance and shining lobby, the rooms are chilled, clean and very comfortable memory foam mattress, i liked the fact you can shower after a hard day at work, get the elevator down 2 floors to the really cool bar cafe mojo where many locals and guests mingle, the clientele are all well to do and fun young people with excellent dj and smoking area, then we would go to the restaurant in the hotel which offered unlimited kebabs of all meats and veg, then the buffet delicious curries and freshly cooked, great desert selection also. The whole 5 day experience was great. this is a new concept and it really works well for me. Good job Goldfinch !
Great service and nice room ”
Goldfinch is a great hotel that more than met my expectations. The service are good and responsive to my needs. They had good choices of restaurants inside the hotel with great choices in the menu. Very clean with regular housekeeping services. Some nice shops are also very near the hotel.
Lavish hotel with decent service”
The place is great especially since Agoda gives a great price for it. Worth the money in every way although a pool could've been the icing on the cake. Everything else is made with a lot of thought and care including the interiors, in-room facilities and other amenities. It would be a treat to the eyes of any traveller. The breakfast spread was good but could've been better, although it's a little difficult to ask for more than what is provided as complimentary. Overall a wonderful experience and made my stay in mangalore relaxing and problem-free.

Offer was excellent first of all, Very cheaper price for an excellent stay and a very good and clean property. Gold finch is One of the best hotels in mangalore. Purely value for money with Agoda.

We stayed here for the first time in Mangalore. We had a good experience based on: 1) Nice clean and comfortable rooms 2) Central location in Mangalore 3) Very courteous and helpful staff 4) Superb breakfast buffet It would be nice if the hotel management could make the check-in and check-out times a little more flexible.

We had selected this hotel from trip Advisor, by reading reviews. Hotel is worth the money spent. Hotel scores well on all points cleanliness, staff, facilities & especially food. We would visit to this hotel next time when we go to Mangalore.
Almost there, but not quite”
this hotel has potential, but needs a bit of smoothing out in some areas. check in was ok, though i had to finally explain why i physically needed a queen bed instead of twin beds. even though i had a reservation, and arrived at 2pm, i had to wait another 45 min for the room to be ready. the hotel is one of only 3 hotels in mangalore in this class range. there are only 2 lifts, and are very slow, though many people come for the restaurant alone, which is 3 floors up from the lobby. there was usually a wait for the lifts at meal times. rooms were comfortable enough, though small. free fast wifi made up for some of it's weaker points

Stayed in both the superior and the executive suite ... Got an awesome deal for the executive suite through agoda and have to say its one of the best rooms I have stayed in .. Beautiful decor and lighting ... Highly recommend this hotel for all reasons ... Location, service, rooms and even the popular kebab studio is in this hotel , so even for food you are in the right place ...

I think this is a really good value for money hotel. The rooms are kept very tidy and spacious. The staff were extremely friendly and obliging. The food in the restaurants was also great. Some improvement to the gym would be great for individuals like me who generally look for a gym in hotels that I stay. Overall it has been a good experience.

stay was most inconvenient and tiresom”
very inconvenienced. due to the 24hr check in system, we had to wait for 2.5 hrs after a long and tiring overnight bus ride to be checked in despite having a confirmed booking and despite reconfirming our booking and early arrival night prior to arrival. the air conditioning system does not work at all. there is a pub just below our room and our entire room was vibrating due to the sound, if a heart patient had to stay there i wonder how. in other words the music was so loud that we neednt have to go to the pub we could have danced in our room itself. the breakfast buffet was fantastic. but service was very slow and they would start clearing up or not refil from 930 am onwards itself. hygiene level of the rooms especially the toilet is very very very poor. toilet linen needs total revamping overall cleanliness is very poor and most unsatisfactory and unexpected from the standard of a reputed hotel like goldfinch. not recommended until they renovate.
We booked this hotel based on the previous reviews and the fact that it called itself a boutique hotel, not a large one. What a disappointment it proved to be! After being moved to three rooms on check in (the first being old and dirty, the second a smoking room and the third, on the seventh floor being a more modern version) I can safely say that what they advertise is not what is delivered. All rooms face the road and it is a major one. There is no sound proofing as there are two windows that open, thus creating a way for noise to enter. The bed was comfortable though as were the pillows. We ate at their 'premium' restaurant and found the food passable but the head waiter a rude and beligerant person ( as he decided to argue the ingredients of drink that we had ordered and returned as it wasn't made correctly, twice). Breakfast was also acceptable with special mention to the chefs making the omlettes and dosa. Mangalore is not an attractive city and this is not an attractive hotel.

good hotel with not so good locality”
i stayed in this hotel for the first time and found it to be as good as it was shown in the internet.food in the hotel was good.service was timely and the food price was reasonable.only thing which i found was lacking was the knowledge of billing procedures.though i have paid the charges through agoda they swiped my card for full amount and when asked they were ignorant of the procedure.
