Great beach hotel”
Had a great weeks stay at Goldi Sands. Room was spacious, clean and a great view looking out at the beach and pool. Plenty of sun beds with fresh towels helped us relax and unwind. Staff were all great, particularly Chandnamohan who was always cheerful and great service. Breakfast was typical Sri Lankan, continental buffet style with egg station for your omelettes etc. Snacks around the pool were good and reasonably priced. Satellite TV didn't really give you much choice and CNN and BBC World never worked, not a big issue to us. Quite a few restaurants close to hotel, so we ate out in the evenings rather than in the hotel. Also they can arrange PCR tests at the hotel for LKR 7500 prior to your departure to fly home. Overall a great stay. However please check your bill as there were several errors with it, which was disappointing after a great stay.

Outstanding service”
Loved the stay at Goldi Sands, facilities were nice, so much so that we shared the use of the hotel with many wedding celebrations. It was a treat to see the beautiful outfits. The parties did get a bit loud but they were quiet by 11PM, which we thought was reasonable. The engineering department was fabulous. They hooked up a special port in the parking facility to charge our electric vehicle. The F&B was great and the staff were eager to serve. Keep up the great work!

Not value for money”
Booked one night a standard room and was given room 206,. The room has no opening and was very claustrophobic. Asked for an extra bottle of water to be rudely reprimanded. However, food and room service is good if you manage to get them over phone.

Disappointed ”
Booked an ocean view through Agoda, hotel manager clearly said that he wants to give me the ocean view room this time but he will have to sue Agoda for “lying” in their website... PLEASE DO NOT BOOK AN OCEAN VIEW AS THE HOTEL WILL REFUSE TO PROVIDE IT ! Housekeeping staff do not care about your do not disturb tags... they will keep knocking at your door until you wake up only to ask you if you would like an early checkout!

Pleasant hotel with good food”
I booked this sensibly priced hotel in Negombo as it is close to the airport to finish our two week tour of Sri Lanka. We liked the Goldi Sands as it was clean, modern and airy in a nice setting on the beach with a pool. The staff were also pleasant and helpful. Only negative: Recommend you buy a can of mozzie spray for the room.

great value for money”
The hotel is well worth the money, especially compared to some of the other hotels we stayed at. Our room, was a cheaper room non sea view, this meant however that it was on the street with quite a lot of traffic, next time i'd pay a bit more to get a quieter room. The town itself was not one of my favorites, but it is very close to the airport so we only stayed there to catch our early morning flight the next day. Lots of tourists seem to arrive or depart from Negombo, and if you do choose to go to Negombo Goldi Sands is a good place to do it.

Beach Hotel near the airport”
We contracted with a Sri Lankan tour agency, Go Lanka Holidays, for a six day/five night tour of the country with driver and car. Both before and after our trip we stayed at the Goldi Sands Beach Hotel. It is relatively close to the airport. We took advantage of the beautiful pool both times. The included breakfast was very nice. Free Wi-Fi was available in the lobby only. The room was quite nice with a balcony view of the pool and ocean. Our only criticism was that the AC did not work well during the day. Our hall porter told us that it was because the entire building was cooled by one central unit that needed to be turned on (which he did).

Great place to relax”
The layout and facilities of this hotel make it a great place to relax in and enjoy. The ground floor lobby, restaurant and bar is open to the air. The restaurant and bar face out directly to rows of palm trees, broad beach and open ocean. You can sit in the shade of the palm trees, watch the wooden outrigger sailing boats plying the sea for fish, sip cocktails and take an occasional dip in the pool or ocean (though it's not a great swimming beach). The rooms are clean and well presented. There is a buffet dinner each night which we didn't find it to be impressive or good value, but there are lots of restaurants nearby. If in Negombo, I would certainly choose to stay again.

Nice End to an Amazing Holiday in Sri Lanka”
We enjoyed our stay here. Staff was friendly, pool was great. There are birds around the general beach area (ravens, so this is something you'd find at any hotel in Negombo. This hotel is on the outskirts of many high price and touristy places. easy walking distance so not too far, but there's also some smaller shops and family-owned restaurants. Best choice in Negombo. We were there with our 23m old daughter who loved it.

Clean hotel Close to the airport”
We stayed at Goldi Sands because it was close to the airport and had a pool and beach access. We found the beach access to be above average and the pool to be great for our daughter. The food was great and service was top notch which was great for our daughter who doesn't travel well. We will definitely be back!
