Spacious Western rooms with a private outdoor hot-spring bath, peaceful nature views and a 42-inch LCD TV await at Gora Hanaougi, directly accessible via an elevator next to Sounzan Train Station. The entire hotel is non-smoking. Each air-conditioned room at Gora Hanaougi Hotel has wood floors and decking, soft lighting and a Japanese-style seating area with tatami (woven-straw) flooring. A sofa and an en suite bathroom with amenities are included. Owakudani Volcanic Valley and the Sengokuhara area are both 6 km away, and Hakone-jinja Shrine is 11 km away. Parking at the hotel is free, but a reservation is needed. Larger public hot-spring baths are also on offer, both indoors and outdoors. You can further unwind with a massage, browse the unique souvenirs on sale or use the lobby’s free Wi-Fi. Breakfast and dinner are served at the dining room and utilise fresh local, seasonal ingredients. Dinner is a traditional multi-course Kaiseki meal, and breakfast is a set Japanese menu.

Understated luxury at its finest. We had an amazing experience. ”
As soon as we arrived, I knew that this would be a wonderful experience. The staff was extremely hospitable and accommodating. The room was pristine and both private and public were lovely. I did not want to leave and could’ve spent several more days just relaxing and enjoying the nature and excellent food and service. I can’t wait to come back
I can’t say enough great things about this property. The staff were all absolutely delightful. The room had an amazing view of the mountains with a private onsen on the porch. The dinner was delicious both nights and my wife and I aren’t big fish eaters.
Exceptional Hospitality ”
Superb blend of Japanese traditional hospitality and contemporary international sensibilities. An amazing setting, beautifully appointed rooms, and serine atmosphere. The staffs’ attention and friendliness all seem so genuine while extremely polished and professional. Definitely would go back!
The service, the food, the environment as we as the hot spring is 10000% perfect
This hotel left us nice memories”
I really like Hakone for its famous hot spring and view. We love this hotel and staffs. The Suit Room is full of surprise like CD, view-seeing sofa, POLA cosmetics etc. The Kaiseki is one of the best experiences you cannot miss.
A special ryokan experience with excellent dinner and breakfast”
Great location, amazing food and service
Extraordinary! Would miss this place so much”
Very personalised service. The staffs treated us like king and queen. They were friendly and helpful. A onsen ryokan with at most 20 rooms that give u amber space to enjoy the serenity. I enjoyed the public onsen all by myself. Room was spacious with private outdoor onsen. You can enjoy urself with a variety of drinks provided, from seaweed tea to green tea, orange juice and even beer. The only downside was there was no english speaking channel. Ryokan was generous that they provide you with sets of washing and cosmetic products, separately for male and female. Dinner was delicate, fantastic and super filling. It took us 2 hours to finish all the dishes. Breakfast was not to be missed too. Must try their side moving escalator to the ropeway station. We drove there thinking that the transportation will be hard. Ended up it is just beside the ropeway station. The memory and the experience definitely worth another repeat visit.
Great Onsen Inn in Hakone”
The in-room onsen is not as big but still very nice. All the staff were very helpful and the included meals were good too.
Overpaid for a high expectations hitrk”
Lady that served us for food dinner and breakfast, dIdnt get her name though and the drivers were the only saving grace. The conceirge lady who was the only one who spoke good English was particularly rude and spoiled our whole stay. Everything that you ask her is a NO!a big NO! For a price we paid for this hotel it was definitely not worth it. We asked for a higher floor room, given a room with a view I don't think anyone could imagine. There were so many humongous spiders. Called her to ask for a change she said no. And my husband does not take beef due to religious beliefs, she said no change. Asked for a 1 hour later check out she said no.! It made me totally not feel like talking to her each time I had to step out. And the best and last part, having to settle the payment and leaving the place she still gave me a lasting impression of an attitude that I have owed her a debt to be there. Worst hotel stay ever.
An excellent hotel!!! One of the best!!”
Love the hotel so much. Highly highly recommended. You will not regret.
