Stop over before cruise”
We had a one night stop before our cruise and the place is absolutely beautiful. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The terrace and pool area was breath taking and was a lovely spot to relax and have a bite to eat and a cocktail while we waited for our room. We will most certainly be back!!
It’s very nice hotel
Wonderful view of Barcelona ”
It was a nice experience stayed at this hotel, the front desk staff roger is the high light during stay, given the impression of welcoming, friendly as typical Spanish hospitality ,hotel got splendid view Nd the decorations are very classic would definitely like to come back stay👍
The hotel is very good, only for some strange reason they did not receive the right information from Agoda so that they were not informed about our preferences and we did not obtain the room we booked.
Best hotel ”
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel although it was short I regretted booking 2 nights... i wish i was able to extend more... Ps: it’s better to who yoy own car because the hotel is far fron the city and taxi is costly to be used daily
Amazing views and nice rooms. Unfortunately got food poisoning on the last day!”
Food poisoning from a ‘luxury establishment’ was a let down to say the least and made the trip home unbearable!
Rooms with great views”
Beautiful old hotel with incredible position above Barcelona - the views are stunning. Front of house staff very good - food and beverage disappointed. Choice, quality and delivery of food and beverage lacked style and consistency - not enough staff to deliver true five star experience. Worth a visit for the vies alone but wouldn’t rush back until food and beverage quality is improved.
Vile staff. ”
Arrived in the evening. Hotel gave our rooms away to a bigger party. Kicked out with two young kids after finally sorting a room at another hotel at half 4 in the morning.
Amazing 5 star hotel with excellent spa & gym”
Stayed her to get away just after christmas. Hotel was 5 Star throughout. With this being my 1st trip to Barcelona we left early morning & came back late evening. So didn't try any of the restaurants or breakfast at the hotel. previous review suggested breakfast was average but extremely overpriced at £28-33 euro. We took the decision to take a taxi to John Kennedy square cost about 15 Euros, where we had breakfast in one of the local bakeries before exploring the city. I would highly recommend this hotel, and budget for about £35 Euro a day return journey, but its worth it.
Over and above expectations, Staff were fantastic, I am so looking forward to returning as soon as possible. I did not want to go to bed, the views are beautiful, quite easily the best Hotel i have stayed at.
Wonderful experience for a romantic Barcelona”
We arrived to La Florida at 1 in the night after a delayed flight. First impression when u arrive in the night is marvellous, the lights of the hotel, and the decoration cannot be better. The hotel itself is not too big, what it brings it a quiet and special atmosphere. The rooms are simply perfect, with wonderful city or mountain view (both are great, so choose just according to your mood that day). The bed is big, really big, maybe even too big! The swimming pool and jacuzzi are is a also a plus: as the hotel is small you never have a crowd feeling there. I also recommend to have a dinner in the swimming pool terrace, with fantastic views of the city. I also want to recognise from here to one of the employees that stands among the rest: Lucas. He is a really nice guy which suggestion and predisposition helped us a lot during our trip. He recommended us where to have breakfast, lunch and dinner, and everything it was always perfect. Really great asset that hotel has with this man. In the cons I cannot forget one only but big problem. One wedding was taking place there one of the nights. As it was raining outside they decided to move the wedding inside of the building (logically) but when they did it the noise was insufferable. We called to the front desk and they asked us to wait till 12 in the night when they will be moving to another salon where they will continue the party; but honestly the sleep of that night was already ruined (no compensation or real apologies for that). It was a pity because despite of that I could say that was my best hotel experience in years. I'd come back but getting sure no wedding is taking place!
Excellent. Before we came to Gran Hotel La Florida we stayed in Barcelona city and it was very busy. At Gran Hotel La Florida we could finally relax. Very nice an helpfull staff.
The perfect start to our honeymoon”
We stayed here for 3 nights and it was the best start to our honeymoon we could have hoped for. The location is absolutely perfect, high in the hills with incredible views of Barcelona. The hotel itself is steeped in history, which makes it that extra special. The staff were always attentive and knew the area very well and were able to give us clear instructions on how to walk to the next town to take in the views. The hotel itself was perfect, as soon as you walk in you felt relaxed. The smell of the front reception desk was amazing! Loved the lounge area, pool, gym and spa areas as well. The only issue we had was with a smell of sweats coming up from the shower area after we'd shower. This went soon after, but it put a dampener on our stay. we are for the first night and the food was great, so was the breakfast, especially when you see the view as you eat. Overall an excellent experience and we are looking to come back again soon!
great stay ”
Perfect stay at the hotel, great staff, you need to plan for your stay, with transportation. If you stay for a long time you need to utilize the metro as it could get quite expensive for taxi rides. Restaurants at the hotel are quite nice and swimming pool is one of the best. Overall highly recommended. Just ensure you reserve a suite
relaxing, quiet, rejuvenating”
Great for dinner and maybe 1 night but not more”
Unfortunately the website and some reviews make it seem like this is a good hotel for a few days or even a week but my wife and I found out that after 1 night it's extremely boring, the food at the bar is terrible, the "spa" is not really a spa (it's just two rooms where they give massages on-demand), the hot tub is luke-warm, and the pool is quite cold. It seems a lot of the hotel is breaking down and in disrepair although they do try to hide it well. The staff were very nice up until we asked to leave early they said it was fully up to the hotel and that they had already told the hotel manager that, so we didn't appreciate being lied to. I do understand that they seem to be hurting for money but a place that tries hard to be five stars really shouldn't treat their guests the way we ended up being treated. We ended up leaving early as the hotel is very, very, very far away from the best parts of Barcelona and staying at this hotel was literally ruining our vacation. The gourmet restaurant was great the first night but booked all other nights and the food at the bar is the same for lunch and dinner and not very good... so after eating it for lunch and then again for dinner again (and being told there was nothing else for miles) it was time to get out of there. This place is great for dinner (great food as long as you eat at the main restaurant, great views) and maybe for one night stay. I highly recommend, however, not staying at this hotel and instead just visiting one night for dinner. There are amazing four and five star hotels in Barcelona and surrounding the Gothic District that would provide a much better experience.
Great location but not 5 stars servic”
they did Not receve the requirements we sent with the ablecation . they do not ofer Free to drink in the room no rome service at night Few staff but hhey are nice
Great Hotel with Great Service”
The hotel was just fantastic and I really recommend it for all travelers the staff were really nice and helpful and they are always smiling serving you to the best, the view was just amazing , it was my first time in barclona and for sure i will come back to the same hotel
excellent view, expensive and long wait to checkin”
came to the hotel to check in at 1030. was told that check in is only at 3pm . if lucky 1pm came back at 3pm room still not ready . had others waiting. after 30 mins we were still the only ones waiting. finally at 345pm our room was available. there is wifi but reception was poor from our room. our room didn't have the city and sea view. we had two windows . the small one had the corner of the city. the big window next to our bed had some hill and valley views which was OK except since we had the 2nd floor given everyone from the car park main entrance , busses and pedestrians can see fit into our bedroom.: ( so we had to close the blinds . somehow felt like we were given the least popular room. we could've tried to see if we can change but didn't bother since it was our last day of our holiday. there's no hot water maker for coffee /tea for a 5 star hotel.
