Nice hotel in a quite isolated place
rest, excellent breakfast, good and clean rooms
this hotel is about 22 years old. sometimes you can see that. the rooms are spacy and the breakfast is excellent. the price of the hotel is quite high and compared to what you get it is not in balance. the internet connections are poor - only free internet in lobby and restaurant and in other place you have to pay a crazy amount of money. the garden is nice and the hotel is very close to the sea and the beach

Great Value for what I paid.
Great location on the beach, nice staff, good food, great free breakfast.
There is a lot to like about the hotel. Staff, food, room size, prices, location, pool, beach etc.. The only two things that weren't great were that the room decor was dated and that they screw you on the internet charges ($30/day) - it says free wifi but it's at dialup speed and only in the lobby.

The Real Bali
Ambience, room size and fittings, on the beach, outdoor feature evenings, friendly staff, architecture
A pleasure to walk up the steep stone stairway under high, traditionally thatched bamboo pagodas into the high roofed vault of the lobby. This is how Bali is pictured but not often found today. The aesthetics continue as you are led through tiled walkways dotted with gardens, fish pools and stone carvings.Carved timber furniture, supports, pagolas all add to the traditional ambience. A tree and palm lined pool sits in the shadows of the elevated restaurant which looks out to the sea.The staff welcome you like a long lost friend and make you feel like an honoured guest in a palace. It feels like a dream ; but it isn't.

Secluded hotel with traditional look
location on the beach; room privacy; spacious; helpful staff
we spent a few days of our bali holiday in the grand balisani suites. this is an interesting hotel which is located right on the beach (albeit not a very pretty beach). they have a nice pool and grass lawn overlooking the sea to lounge around in. the rooms offer great privacy and are quite spacious and comfortable. the location is close to the semiyak nightlife and shopping though it is a bit of a cab ride. cabs are cheap so that's not too much of a problem. the inhouse dining options are also quite inexpensively priced and have a decent range of options to chose from.

Great experience for the price
Nice pool, friendly staff
I spent 4 nights there with a friend of mine and we had a great time. Location is convenient to many local shops that are accessible via a scooter. It gives you more of a real Bali experience than some of the higher end resort hotels on the island. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Room was nice, nothing over the top, but was clean and spacious. The have an onsite massage for ~$10 USD for 1hr which was great, but there are actually tons of masssage places in the area for half that price as well. Food was ok, nothing special. You have to pay for Wifi in the room, but it is free in the lobby. With that said, the wifi in the lobby is not that strong, so don't expect to stream videos, can really just read email and articles online only.

Fantastic Resort, location and awesome breakfast
Breakfast, pool area, spa treatments and surf breaks
Traveling with a 20 month old this place was great. Surf breaks lined up and down beach and allot quiter than neighbouring kuta, legion or Seminyak. The roads are not great but you can walk along the beach to everywhere. There is a great warung about 100 metres away on the beach as well. The maintinence to this place is great the gardens and fish ponds are lovely. Cleanliness is fantastic. The only thing negative I'd say is a few of the reception staff are a bit unfriendly, not rude but have a bit of a cant be bothered attitude. The rest of the place makes up for it though.

On beach but older struggling hotel
location on beach, nice pool
older hotel. probably was very nice at some point. maintenance has not been good. our bed had termites in it, leaving droppings on the floor. hotel is cutting corners (probably to cut costs): no cushions on day beds or many of the seats, no extras in room, breakfast has very little meat compared to all other palces we stayed at...etc service reasonable except for "activities" folks who pestered for us to join evening bbq/dance. result was we did not feel like doing it. grounds a little bit run down but acceptable. pool area is pleasant. beach is very nice and huge. extra bed was pretty ratty. given that there was an extra charge for it, effort could have been made to improve its condition. hotel not actually at seminyak as claimed, but more removed to the north, in next village. would not consider this a 4 star as advertized.
