Excellent stay with nice bar and restaurant”
Pity I could stay only one night. Room was nice enough for a family of 4. Location was good. You could easily walk to the main shopping area (Brisbane Street Mall). Drinks at the in house bar was nice and not too expensive. Hope to stay again.
Great location ”
Rooms were a little dated and quite dusty. Rooms are big though. Parking space were well lited, something thoughtful for the guest where the night sets in early. Staff were friendly and ready to assist.
Great relaxing holiday in a quaint hotel.close to everything.
Love Launceston ”
My husband and friends had a wonderful weekend in Launceston. We stayed at the Hotel Grand Chancellor & it was fantastic. It’s located in a very central and accessible position. Close to many shops and restaurants. The staff were friendly and very knowledgeable and helpful. We enjoyed the nightly happy hour and Aldo the delicious buffet breakfast. It would have been great to have the breakfast included in the price we paid for the rooms, Our only criticism would be that as there were 4 of us (2 couples) it would be convenient for all of us to get room keys- we were issued 1 key per room. When asked it was no problem to get another one, it was just annoying to have to ask. We will definitely re-visit Launceston and the Hotel Grand Chancellor. Go Hawks!! Jo Martin
The hotel's location is very good. Right behind the hotel are several eateries. Extremely convenient. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Car park facilities were good and ample.
great location and clean. but a little old style.
Great location and affordable price for good quality”
Great location, newly renovated and refurbished. Comfy bed, nice bathroom (tiles could do with some mould remover). Overall we're very happy with the room and hotel and will stay there again next time we're in town.
Havent get enough chance to explore the hotel because we just stop for a night but overall it was great! only recommendation is to provide some complementary parking at parking area besides the hotel. Anyway, overnight park beside the road not bad either (free), just be sure to move your car/pay meter before 9am.
Great Value for money”
I have stayed here a number of times and keep coming back. The hotel is very well run. There have been and continue to be a continuous program of upgrades & improvements. Rooms are very large and well appointed. 2 Suggestions. 1 get rid of the shower over the bath & just provide a nice big Shower. 2 Make sure the mini bar is stocked with Local beer.
Great location great price”
We booked the standard king bed room. The rooms were the I renovated ones in floor 1 but totally fine for what we paid. Roma's are spacious, bed was king size and bathrooms spacious. Happy hour was a bonus $6 drinks. Only issue was we booked and paid for 2x standard king bed rooms and got 1 of these plus a twin double room
Great value, great service, great location”
In a nutshell, fabulous. We stayed the week before and was so impressed we returned and weren't disappointed. Not like one of the opposition, we usually try something new all the time, but from now on it will be GC when we require accomm in Launceston.
Great value Hotel with ecellent location”
I have stayed here a number of times and it just keeps getting better. There has been a lot of effort put into upgrading the rooms and the new modern décor is excellent. The rooms are large and very comfortable. Very quiet. A great sleeping experience
Great Location, very nice hotel”
although our room was not one of the refurbished ones, it was quite large. it was 34deg when we arrived and a nice touch by housekeeping was to place the air conditioner to high speed cooling. very refreshing. room was quiet with a large bathroom and dressing area. would definitely stay here again.
Grand vintage hotel”
Our stay was good, we enjoyed the wonderful service from the receptionist, housekeeping, and technician. All were helpful. Though there was nothing much to do out there at night, at least we got to sit around and have some drinks and oysters in the hotel bar. Breakfast was basic, not too many varieties but acceptable.
Portable airconditioner ?”
Too noisy with portable airconditioner cant sleep! What?! Hotel with portable airconditioner? Never seen one before! And you have to pay for parking $6 and the light in the room not enough too dark , tv table everything full of dust. Dont know when last cleaned. First time and last time!
Noisy air conditioner results in a poor experience ”
Pros are the central location, only a block to CBD and other areas of interest. Facilities are ok, but parking must be paid for on site. Cons, definitely the air conditioner/ cooling. Too noisy to sleep while on. Value was ok, and if not for the very hot weather and having to sleep with no cooling, value was reasonable.
Room was ok, needed better lighting and couldn't find a power point to charge our phones. Husband had to boil the kettle in the bathroom!!!! I wouldn't stay there again even though I have read good reviews on it.
Centre of Launceston”
Pro's-Rooms were well appointed and clean. Con's-you have to pay for parking.
Tired and dated. 3 star at best. ”
There are many options in Launceston that are better than this property which is well past its use by date. Old tired rooms, TV so blurry you could watch it, no proper aircon - an old portable unit that was so loud you had to choose between the noise or a cool room. Seemed to cater for bus tours where I guess ppl are least likely to complain. Did not even have an corkscrew to open a bottle of wine. Choose anywhere but here until they fix things. Parking also hopeless.
Good location, big room and clean”
Good location, big room and clean. Dinner was also great, good service.
