Wonderful stay at Koh Samui island”
I had chosen this hotel due to many factors: positive reviews, the view, and price. It was much better when we got there because the staff was great. For a small fee, they accommodated transportation to various places during odd hours. They also have a quick laundry service.
Value for money”
We stay 3 nights there. The first day we check in late at 10.00pm the staff help us to carry all things up to the room. The family room we booked is very big and tidy. For sure next time if we visit samui again we will not miss out this hotel. We love this value for money Grand hill residense.
Excellent Sea View, nice staff”
We had a view to die for, from Jacuzzi room 505. The rooms are monstrous, bed was firm as usual through Thailand. We found that it took near 15 minutes for the hot water to get up to the 5th floor, so we would turn on the tap and go back to it later. The hotel is located back a couple hundred metres from the main road but its up upon a hill, so walking would be a challenge, however we hire a motor scooter so distance and location in a quiet area suits us. We didn't eat at the resort so can't comment on that. The staff were very helpful and their English was good. At the intersection with the main road there's a 7-11 & a local fresh food market with street food vendors. Laundry close by also.
excellent, very relaxing stay”
after spending few days of adventure under the sun twas excellent to stay in this hotel to relax. the hotel is very quiet with large rooms. i liked especially the private room terrace and their infinity pool.
Great Hotel, Friendly staff, quiet environment. ”
This hotel is totally a great value of money, the surroundings are very quiet and isolated but also close to the major attraction. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I will defiantly go back and stay again.
Very spacious, excellent acvommodation with spectacular view”
The 2 bedroom suite turned out to be a huge flat, with large living, dining space, full kitchen, huge balcony with spectacular view and even a third extra toilet. Amazing view even from the bathtub. Away from the beaches, but at hilltop, so the view. Pool lovely and clean. Breakfast is just average. The free shuttle could ve more frequent, not ending at 5 PM. Otherwise, our only regret was that we could not atay for more days.
Basic Necessities Only”
The room is spacious and airy. The bathroom is clean, nice and decently sized. The bed may be a bit lumpy for most but is comfortable. You will need to rent your own transport if you want to stay here as it is far from the beaten track. It is quiet and tranquil. Taxis cost an arm and a leg in Koh Samui and not easy to find one. My main gripe was that for 2 day and night, i complained about the useless air-conditioner and it continued to be warm or hot the whole time i was there. Also, the rooms on the 5th and 6th floors are very airy, particularly at night when you can continually hear the wind blowing through the rafters... a bit creepy and disconcerting. The view at breakfast is impressive, just the thing to start your morning. The breakfast offered is adequate and simple with some limited choices of dishes.
General cleanliness was unacceptable and whilst the view from our room was fantastic, the hotel feels run down and out of date. the Jacuzzi was broken/inefficient at filling with hot water and dirty. the beds head board was filthy and needs replacing. there were stains on the walls above the headboard and the tv had 4 working channels..... none of which were in English. the staff were friendly but out of their depth especially the senior management who seemed more interested in using their smartphones than actually doing any inspections on their rooms which would have avoided this review and our bad experience. The bed and views were great and the desk manager Ban was wonderful and helpful. I can't help thinking that they just shouldn't offer jaccuzi rooms if they can't maintain them.
honestly a great place with great service. The pool area is very small but its great view makes up for it. The AC wasn't the best but that's hit or miss in any of these hotels. The food was excellent as breakfast as well.
Thank you very much for the great review we hope to see you again next time.
Excellent Views & Great Staff”
The views from this property are superb. The hotel itself is quite a way from everything so renting a scooter from the hotel is ideal. The staff are superb. Very helpful and welcoming. In particular Annie and Catherine will do everything to make your stay comfortable. Both speak excellent English and are always ready to help if required. The hotel does attract very good clients from around the world.
Thank you very much for good review. We look forward to seeing you again in the future. your sincerely, Annie
Beautiful resort, excellent staff! ”
The pictures do not do this resort justice! It's very nice with amazing views. I was a solo traveller looking for peace and this place was perfect. Free shuttle to beach and great food! Free breakfast was very good. Highly recommend this place!
I have been to more than 300 hotels in Thailand and so I can that this hotel is "typical" Thai when it comes to maintenance and cleanliness. Several things were simply not useable (like the whirlpool in the room) or only available after request (pots and pans in the kitchen) and the overall cleanliness was poor. It smelled from the bathroom, the bedroom door made noise every few seconds (decided to fix it open) and there was dirt everywhere. But apart from the toilet seat all this was acceptable considering the low price for the huge room. You get what you pay for. The pool and the view was great.
Beautiful view, spacious rooms, but needed redecorating. On the downside, you can also include the partial wind, which sometimes is very annoying, but in contrast to the repair a little dependent on the owners of the hotel.
We love this hotel so much. The location is on the mountain, if you rent a motorcycle, transportation won't be a problem, and you got a great view, especially in the morning. At first, we only booked for one day, then we stayed here for 4 days. Great place for couples and family.
Great scenery and relaxed atmosphere ”
This hotel is a gem located on northern part of Koh Samui. If you prefer a hotel away from the hectic beach areas then this hotel meets your wishes. The rooms are big, suitable for a family with a few children. The hotel owner and his staff are very friendly and service minded doing their utmost to make you feel comfortable. Food in the restaurant is very good with a wide selection of both Thai and Western dishes, all reasonably priced. The view from the restaurant and swimming pool area over the bay is breathtaking. Although not directly located to rhe beach there is a free shuttle bus to the beach, however only three times a day. Motorbikes can be rented from the hotel reception. There are several car rental shops at close vicinity. It's worthwhile to shop around to get a good deal. The atmosphere in the hotel is very relaxed.
Great hotel very isolated ”
We stayed just one night. Found the hotel was clean and very beautiful. Great view and sunset/sunrises. Pool is very nice. Wifi is poor most servers need to be fixed so no wifi available in rooms. Ate lunch and super at hotel was good but had some issues with raw chicken and things not being cooked all the way. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
This resort is amazing. The staff are friendly and courteous, the rooms are spacious with incredible views, the pool is beautiful, I could go on and on. My wife and I are both vegan and the chef in the restaurant was more than accomodating changing up the dishes on the menu so we could eat them, the shuttle service to and from the city was great and the diving club can assist you no matter what level of experience you are. For value for money, Jamahkiri is all that and more. You will not be disappointed staying here.
Good view, big rooms, friendly staff, close to the Lomparayah Pier”
We did enjoy of our stay there. Staff is amazing friendly. We had 2 bedrooms and 3 washrooms, big terrace with a great view. It's located not on the real high hill, so the small motorbike will be just fine to drive there. It's about 5-10 min drive to Mae Nam Lomparayah pier. And the biggest benefit - no bugs. There were quite a few, but it didn't bother us.
Relaxation with superb service”
I cannot say enough good things about the hospitality here. Everyone we interacted with was exceedingly polite, helpful, and spoke excellent English. They will happily arrange any travels and tours you need without any mark-up. The pool is lovely and the beach shuttle is a really nice perk. The room was beautiful and our balcony was enormous (looks like they are not all the same size, though). Bedding was cozy and A/C was cool. The village and beach are certainly walkable. Yes, you have to pay attention to traffic, but if you're self-aware and relatively fit, you'll have no trouble at all walking down to restaurants once or twice a day. The only things I could possibly knock them on are: Food in the restaurant is a bit pricey, as it is in any hotel (though, I will give them credit for not marking-up the room service prices); and housekeeping came rather late in the day (between 4 and 5pm) when we were usually in our room and didn't want cleaning.
Damn good bargain!”
If you want a place by the beach, this isn't it. This is a place on a 'grand hill' which is near and far enough from the beach and is not touristy at all. It's secluded and well taken cared. The room is huge and very very clean. The staff is amazing and their simple breakfast was scrumptious. Just hire a bike from the hotel and roam around all over Samui. Once you're done doing that, come back to this quiet quaint hotel and have a good night's sleep before waking up and doing it all over again. I cannot praise how good the staff are. They really do push this hotel to a higher level. With what I paid for the room, this really was a damn good bargain.
