A great second honeymoon!”
We had a rare night without our daughter, and chose the Grand as our base for a romantic 24 hours in Toronto. It was wonderful! We were able to safely check our bags before our official check-in time, and we were granted early access to the rooftop hot tubs. The room had our requested king bed, and it was bigger than most hotel rooms in the price range. After enjoying a late-afternoon prosecco via room service and a soak in the rooftop tub, we were within walking distance to the best restaurants and dance clubs...all in all, everything we wanted with no hassle! Thank you, Grand!
Great hotel, great value. A little too much to the west but still walk-able/bike, etc to everything”
The hotel looks like an old hotel that has been refurbished. The room was very clean and functional, on a high floor with a good view of the street/city. Facilities were great, breakfast was good (toward basic). Location: a little far to the west of the city but still very much able to walk to all attractions. Rental bike station right in front of the hotel made it easy to just pick one up and go also. Staff was very helpful. Def will go back to this hotel if I go to Toronto again.
Day in the City before University starts again!”
We booked a double room and were randomly upgraded to a two bedroom suite...it was beautiful! Hot tubs on the rooftop were so much fun. The only down side was the room information booklet said the breakfast buffet, which is included in your stay, was open till 11:00 a.m. on weekends...Saturday morning at 10:40 a.m. they were cleaning up the buffet and wouldn’t let us eat saying it ended at 10:30...when I said that’s not what your booklet in the room said, they wouldn’t budge. Love the location...love the hotel and staff.
We were exceptionally pleased with the room, the service, the location and especially the price for a downtown Toronto hotel. Highly recommend and will definitely stay there again.
Exquisite spot for a friends reunion”
We had a lovely overnight with friends here at the hotel. The facilities are beautiful especially the rooftop hot tub. We soaked under the stars watching music videos on a large screen. Dining outside for our breakfast was like being in an Italian Piazza surrounded by trees and the outdoor fountain. Our upgraded suite with 2 rooms was so spacious for the 4 of us. Absolutely lovely place.
Great hotel,excellent position”
Some reviews I read criticized the area. So glad I ignored them. Nice quiet area only a five minute walk to the main shopping centre. Also walking distance to the food market which was great. Friendly staff with complementary town car. Chocolate strawberries were a nice touch for my wife's birthday. The room was a nice design although not overly large. The included breakfast was above average. The best part of the hotel was the two-storey room with indoor pool (warm) & spa. Also the two rooftop spas were amazing To relax there at night after a long days sightseeing & watch a huge projection screen was sooo good. An added bonus was that the pool & spas were open till late at night, unlike many hotels.Highly recommended!
Immaculate & Beautiful Facility”
Immaculate is every aspect. Pool and 3 hot tubs are wonderful. Staff great. View from rooftop phenomenal . Only con is that like every older neighborhood, low income and their support systems have moved in. About Five Salvation Army buildings are located between hotel and heart of business district. My 20 something daughter and I walked everywhere and did not experience any problems. Doorman offered to call a taxi every time we exited building. They are also there to guard the door as you enter. They helped with our luggage. Great experience. Don’t let this discourage your stay. I would go back in a heartbeat. The facility is gorgeous.
Great Hotel in Toronto ”
The hotel is very good located for walking in downtown and to the best sightseeings. Our room was perfect, everything very clean, stuff friendly and very helpfully. The roof terrace perfect for a rest after sightseeing, the restaurant on the groundfloor very nice. American breakfast buffet, all fresh and enough. Very good fitness center and the inside pool big enough for swimming, all facilities very clean and comfortable- I would stay again in this hotel
Good Value Close to Everything ”
The Grand has kovely staff and common areas. The rooms are small but beautifully appointed and comfortable; clean and although older, well designed. The mattresses were not great, but everything I requested was granted. The complementary breakfast was fantastic in both variety & quality. The outdoor conservatory and patio are beautiful. Dinner at Citrus was truly excellent with a surprising and creative chef.
Great, location, friendly staff”
We enjoyed staying in this hotel even it it was overpriced. Great location at the heart of downtown Toronto. Spacious and clean rooms even if the bathroom is tiny and very close to the bed. The staff is helpful and friendly.
Enjoyed our stay”
Very attentive friendly staff. Facility’s were nice. The hot tubes on the roof could use a little cleaning between swimmers (floating stuff). Breakfast was awesome with a huge variety. The area is a little sketchy but we are seasoned travellers so not a big deal considering the hotel was great and in good walking distance to st lawerence market and distillery district
Hospitality at its finest!”
I have always said hospitality can not be taught, you either have it or you don't. At The Grand everyone I encountered had it! Highly recommend this hotel.
Lovely lovely hotel”
How a nice hotel, so close to downtown Toronto, easy to take bus and subway, 505 street car just at the hotel's corner. In a word, it is lovely place to stay and enjoy your holiday there. Quite friendly service. Recommend to visit again and again.
Decent hotel with a nice basement pool and nice breakfast buffet”
Decent hotel on the edge of downtown Toronto. The area is a little seedy and feels unsafe at night, especially if you are unfamiliar with the area. Your best best is to call an uber or lyft if you go out in the evening. We enjoyed the generous breakfast buffet and the pool in the basement was nice. Rooms are nicely furnished and we had a jacuzzi tub in ours.
Always a pleasure to stay at the Grand”
We frequently stay at the Grand although the first time we booked through agoda and saved a little more than booking through the hotel directly. The hotel now charges for parking but overall it is a great place to stay and enjoy breakfast in a lovely dining room.
Tiny details could make it even better”
This is list of real minor nit picky observations - only meant to help them make the place perfect - not just fantastic! 1) The pool should be open later 2) There should be a sign on the change room door that indicates the sauna is in there. 3) The roof top hot tub is great - keep it going - but try to figure out a way to make the deck less slippery - it's a little dangerous - google "heated mat". 4) Pillows are too thick - they strain your neck 5) We booked a room for 4 people but got only two sets of slippers and robes. 6) Mens Change rooms shower taps need some work - one set did not work, the other difficult to adjust.
Hotel is fairly clean and hospitable. Arrived late at night and got to our room and there was an inconvenient smell. The night management staff responded promptly and upgraded us to a much better room to make up for the inconvenience. Very well organized and will definitely come again! Thank you for the great experience to Aliona and Rob at the front desk!
Superb classic hotel. Had a great day/night there. However 2 call outs. - aircon in room (1405) made loud whistling noise all night. Made it difficult to sleep. - staff clearing up after breakfast were dragging tables around, creating a LOT of noise which reverberated through the lobby detracting from the experience of the guests. Regards, Oliver
My husband and I stayed at this hotel. We were greeted by friendly staff and the hotel staff went above and beyond to meet our needs. We requested a high floor with a king bed which was fulfilled. The location was perfect as well! We parked our vehicle at the hotel and explored the city by foot.
Got a great deal on the hotel, lovely place with great staff.
