Wonderful, truly "grand" hotel. Great location by the sea front promenade of Sestri. Used to be a grand villa (of "Brignole", as in the station in Genoa of the same name). Generously-sized room (for Italy), great breakfast, "light touch' personnel who are respectfully eager to please. Thoroughly recommended!

Very grand ”
We stayed here for a few days with our two month old daughter and overall really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is definitely grand and although decorated in a traditional style is is clean and not stuffy. The staff were lovely and the location is amazing. The only issue we had was that there was a bit of mould in the shower but once we told the reception they did try to clean it. Overall would recommend a stay.

Comfortable hotel with excellent organic breakfast”
Comfortable hotel with excellent breakfast. Many of the furnishings and decoration were from the early 20th century, giving the hotel a very different feel from clinically clean in appearance but soulless modern hotels. For lovers of organic food, almost all of the breakfast buffet was organic, with a variety of breads, cakes, pastries, hot and cold drinks, cereals and cooked breakfast. A couple of minor criticisms: there is no kettle in the bedroom and only a small filled minibar fridge, which are unhelpful if you like to have a bedtime/morning drink in your room or you want to prepare the night before for a picnic lunch.

Solo Traveller”
Look no further. Lovely hotel in a great location. Easy walk from the train station and right in the heart of Sestri. Good breakfast. Nice pool area and quiet front bar for an evening drink. The best thing about the hotel however was the staff. All were helpful, friendly and efficient even when the hotel was full. A special mention to Vincenzo who was on night shift. Hope you get to New Orleans.

The best hotel in Sestri Levante”
The Villa Balbi is a beautiful and very well run hotel and we will certainly stay there again. The only minor crticisms I would make is that a lot of the pastries and cakes offered for breakfast were stale. It would also be nice to have somewhere to shower and change on the day you leave. The changing rooms by the pool were very cramped and only had cold showers.

My contract with Balbi was for an air conditioned room for 4 nights, on not ONE of the nights stay ”
On not ONE night out of the 4 did the hotel provide as per contract! I complained daily had a room change, but NO SATISFACTORY SOLUTION WAS FOUND!!!on check out I was told that due to the fact I had prepaid “nothing” could be done. At no point did Managment contact me , a junior member of reception staff conveyed the “no solution “ message to me. I expect compensation for a most uncomfortable 4 nights.

Stunning”
We were lucky enough to get a room in the main house with a large private balcony overlooking the harbour. I can not be bothered with trendy modern hotels with stuff like "mood lighting" The Villa Balbi is beautiful, pure class. The staff were cautious and relaxed.....perfect.

Très bon hôtel. Par contre, passablement énervant que la piscine ne soit pas plus contrôlée. Des gens de bonne education se ruent sur les transats en déposant leurs affaires dessus, et puis partent manger et se promener. Resultats plus de la moitié des transats sont vides mais pas accessible. L'hôtel bénéficie aussi d'une plage privée, mais il faut réserver aussi à l'avance. Nous n'avons donc pas eu de place.

Villa Balbi est une Villa de maître typiquement italienne avec le charme des palais italiens. Notre hébergement a grandement contribué au succès de notre séjour en famille dans cette charmante ville de Sestri Levante. Un service exceptionnel, notamment au bar et au restaurant. Un petit déjeuner délicieux servi dans un jardin plein de charme. Il fait bon vivre à la Villa Balbi !
