Exceptional”

In Hyatt Regency Suzhou, there is a very strict guy who works inside the man's locker room & swimming pool. He does his job very well. He does never let the people who don't follow the duty of the guests: "after the shower, with the slipper, wearing the swimming cap"- simple global manner whoever uses the swimming pool pf the hotel. The swimming pool is very clean. I enjoyed it and I really appreciate his effort. But GrandHyatt Shanghai in Pudong nobody bans the guests who come into the pool without a shower, without swimming cap, wearing outdoor shoes. That made the swimming pool not clean and smells bad. I couldn't enjoy that facility. And I felt bad in my eyes after the swimming two whole days. Anyway, thanks for your considerate services and delightful kindness about letting the small exceptions and gorgeous facilities. Grand Hyatt Shanghai in Pudong : 5 point in 4 , but 3 point in swimming pool. Almost perfect.

Grand Hyatt Shanghai - a grand experience”

Loved the location, great views, attentive staff, and nice work out facilities. The location is great for the view and the easy access to the subway and there is a plethora of cabs. I also loved having a beautiful view of the river and the Bund clock tower from my room. Staying on the Bund side is a mess with all the construction, dust and and congestion. Staying in Pudong is much nicer.
The more expensive the hotel, the more they charge for internet access. In this regard, the Grand Hyatt is like other hotels, but it still annoys me to pay extra for an essential service.........And while it wasn't the hotel's doing, not being able to log on to Facebook or Twitter during my stay is a reminder that the hand of government is watching.... "Nice" restaurants in China aren't conducive to single customers since most food is served family style. This was true in the hotel's "Canton" restaurant. I ordered some fried rice to go with my soup and the platter or rice was enough to feed four people!

The views are spectacular. The hotel has s warm and friendly staff that bent over backwards to be helpful and courteous. They made the stay very relaxing. When I made a small suggestion to the front desk that their web site would be improved by including the name of the Luijiazui subway stop for the hotel, rather than just posting to take subway line number 2, I got a follow up thank you call. (Note: don't confuse the Century Park stop on line 2 with the hotel's Century Blvd address on the hotel's web site map.) Hotel has a very nice pool, great for swimming laps after a long flight. I was there for 8 days and no one seemed to use it but me. I worked out every morning at 6 a.m. for 90 minutes. The weight room is pretty crowded with the latest equipment. Some days there were lots of people working out in the morning, other days, none. Staff brought me a water bottle to drink whenever they noticed I had finished the one I had. I compared the Grand Hyatt with the Hyatt next door in the World Financial Center. I liked the atmosphere of the Grand Hyatt in JinMao Tower much better. It is a much more open feeling; the WFC Hyatt had so much security that it made me feel uncomfortable. Overall, the Grand Hyatt in the JinMao tower is a great business hotel, with plenty of nice touches that made me feel like I was on a vacation.

Exceptional”

As my previous stay, it was excellent in every respect. Unfortunately, after arriving at Pudong Airport, the taxi driver was very dishonest. He took my card before we left the airport for Grand Hyatt and said "It doesn't work - try another card?" I used another card. He said the same thing: "Hmmm, doesn't work. Let me use another card reader". Then I put my card in the new card reader. He said "Now it works". When I returned home to Tokyo, I discovered that he charged me 3 times for a total of RMB 14,520! I only tell you this sad story so that maybe Grand Hyatt can find a way to help customers get from the airport and back without being robbed by such dishonest people. This would be a great service if possible. In any case, this has nothing to do with my very positive experience at Grand Hyatt - only a suggestion for an additional service.

Beautiful hotel in the Pudong financial district”

Great view of the bund, clean comfortable rooms, good location

I had a very pretty stay at the Grand Hyatt. I made my booking only 36 hours in advance, so unfortunately the hotel did not have my reservation. Agoda had confirmed with me, but hadn't confirmed with the hotel. I suppose that isn't the hotel's fault. They handled it relatively well. I booked this hotel based on the location, as I had business in the Shanghai Stock Exchange and it is within walking distance. The rooms are great, spotlessly clean, and has a beautiful view of the bund. It is located in the iconic Jin Mao tower which is a must see in Pudong. As for the food, I was pretty disappointed in the buffet. Also, I had ordered a glass of wine in the lobby area with my colleagues and when I tried to bring my half full glass into the restaurant (about 20 feet away), the lobby lounge waitress stopped me and said I couldn't bring it in the restaurant. I didn't want to make my whole group wait, so I chugged the rest of my red wine.

Wonderful services provided by friendly and caring staff”

There are many luxury hotels in Shanghai and Grand Hyatt Shanghai may not be the one newest, but oh how wonderful their customer service was! I arrived deadly tired at midnight and the receptionist immediately took care of me, offering a complimentary breakfast and room with preferred bed size so that I could rest and enjoy the rest of stay with them. I was able to enjoy their morning exercise class and taste their beautifully crafted chocolate. I will definitely recommend this hotel to all business travellers who need a nice couple of nights to relax.

Great hotel with great staff and wonderful views”

The views

I have stayed here before about three years ago on business but this time decided to treat the family to one night here on our last day in Shanghai (we had lived for two years). I am a fan of Hyatt anyway but just loved their friendly and professional service here and we were certainly well looked after here. This is isnt a cheap hotel but we did get a great deal by being out of season and using Agoda points so we stayed in one the world's highest hotels for just about 60USD with free internet - a steal for such a memorable night especially as were further rewarded with a river view at the very top on the 81st floor so had views to die for. Staff were wonderful all through especially as we have a very energetic 18 month old who they treated with as much love and care as if they were their own son. Rooms are a little aged now but then with a view like that it’s not the carpet you will be looking at. Main things we used were the pool which is great though small but still not bad for 50th floor! Also baby sitting services which was also great. The bar at the top for a drink (well worth it to look over the night scene of Shanghai and the drinks are pretty good too!). Also breakfast in the morning which was scrummy delicious and enjoyed by all of us. Definitely worth a visit just remember to take the camera.

Cocktails & Buffet in Club Bar, Spa area

we spend the weekend in the grand hyatt. we booked a king room and were offered an upgrade to club room during check-in, which was good-value including breakfast and afternoon/evening buffet and cocktails (everything + wine/champagne) for the price of 2 breakfasts in pre-booking. the room was big and comfy, included everything we needed and more! just the river view was not at the bund but the south of downtown shanghai and the construction work on a new tower far below us. the spa area consists of a big mixed swimming pool on 53th floor and, unfortunately, gender separated big jacuzzi and sauna. the staff was nice and polite at all places!

Beautiful hotel on the Pudong side of the Bund”

This is one of the 3 Hyatt Hotels in Shanghai (Hyatt on the Bund and Park Hyatt being the other two) so this is the mid-range between the other two. The staff were kind and helpful and the rooms were comfortable and clean. The gym, locker room and pool of this hotel are amazing and there are lots of dining options and great room service. Highly recommend.

Hotel with wonderful architecture but antiquated decoration”

I travelled to Shanghai on a vocation trip with my family this October. The Shanghai Grand Hyatt Hotel is located in Jin Mao Tower, which was designed by SOM. The building itself is a state-of-the-art architectural masterpiece, but the hotel wasn’t, at less it is not at today’s environment. The staffs were very kind and efficient, both during the check-in and check-out procedures. I tried to make the reservation through Hyatt’s website, but it told me all the rooms are unavailable on the selected date. So I have to booked my rooms through an online travel agency. The room size is reasonable, with out-of-fashion facilities and decoration, through the linen and towel was brand new. The coffee cups needs to be replace, with tones of scratches on them.

Fantastic iconic hotel option in SH ”

Great hotel to enjoy new financial district of Shanghai. The hotel is situated in lujiazhui which is where the iconic 3 major sky scrapers sit and the oriental pearl tower. The sizes of the building are just breathtaking so you can imagine what it is like wheb check in is on tge 54th floor and rooms are above that. We had a stansard room and was our 3 years anniversary and hotel kindly gave us complimentry sparkling wine. We enjoyed the hotel facilities during our stay which all was very nice. Rooms are clean and has everythung you need. For the price and product i say its well worth it. Very close to malls and restaruants. 10 mins walk to the metro line1

Pure Class”

Cloud 9 Bar on the 87th Floor,

I only stayed for one night so hard to get a good "feel" for the hotel but in the short time I was there my experience was all good. The hotel lobby is on the 54th floor and my room was on the 85th floor which is the highest floors with rooms, needless to say my room had a great view of the city of Shanghai. 2 floors up is the Cloud 9 Bar, which also had great views, but for a hotel bar it was very dark inside which made reading the drink menu rather difficult by candle light. All in all though the hotel is very impressive, service is excellent, room was large and spotless. A bit on the expensive side but the luxury is there.

we had a pleasant stay at the grand hyatt, it was easy to get in and out of the building with dedicated lifts. staff was very professional. I needed a hard bed which I forgot to request and they made sure in the middle of the night to provide me with hardboard and solution for my sleep. good happy stay.

Shanghai Grand Hyatt”

Excellent facilities, friendly staff, free internet
None

An excellent hotel to stay in Shanghai. One of the tallest in the world, so get a high floor room and enjoy the view. It is quite new, so the rooms and furnishing are very nice. Staff speaks English and are friendly. Also like the fact that Internet is provided free to all guests. The hotel is also walking distance to the subway station and the shopping district. Can't think of any downside for this hotel, except it would be even better if the rates were lower.

Location and excellent service ”

Location and service

Our family stayed here for our getaway to Shanghai, everything was great and service was excellent. The front office staff were superb, we had a few problems on check in with bedding configuration and connecting rooms but they were extremely impressive and provided fantastic services to our family. Special mention to David (I assume he was the Front Office Manager), who exceeded our expectations, who got out of his way in providing exceptional service. We saw him asking many other guests if everything was OK and he was always there to help his team when they needed help. It's the little things that counts for a hotel to succeed.
