Very nice and clean hotel on main street in Silverton. We stayed on third floor. Hotel does not have elevator, but we knew about it and this was OK with us. No air conditioning, but this was no problem as we had window open. We definitely would come back.

Really great historical hotel with a great restoration and fascinating history. Jim and his staff made our stay superb We brought 8 other couples with us this year and everyone was thoroughly happy with their accommodations.

A great place to stay and then go ski Silverton. Right in town with coffee shops and breweries right next-door.

Very clean. Close to RR”
This is a beautiful, historic hotel. Great location. Everything is within walking distance. It is so clean! The housekeeping crew is so good at what they do! The hotel allowed us to pre-ship a package of clean clothes and held it for our arrival as it was the last stop of our backpacking journey. Very nice staff, just a little short handed, so be patient at check in. Also, there is no elevator.

Nice hotel in middle of Silverton”
I had a nice stay at the Grand Imperial Hotel in downtown Silverton. I have stayed at multiple "classic" hotels, and this is one of the nicer ones I have had the pleasure to stay at. Like many classics, there is no elevator and you will hear a bit more noise from outside your room. However, the room and furnishings were great, the bathroom was modern and nice, and you absolutely cannot beat the location! I will stay here again the next time I come to the San Juan mountains to enjoy all of their beautiful outdoor activities and delicious local brewed beers.

H ell with silver this is gold!”
Young lady at checkin made the whole trip. Pleasant, informative and even helped with our bag. Hotel is still in renovation but is beautiful. We have been in the area for a number of generations and it was good to see people caring for the heritage left to them good or bad. Mike Born

Comfortable Historic Hotel”
Great experience for an older facility. Clean and well maintained. Don’t look for modern amenities such as A/C, complimentary breakfast, in-room coffee, fridge or microwave.

Very good”
Of course I wish there was an elevator but I understand why not. It's a very old building. Very squeaky floors. Room and bathroom were immaculate!

It was clean and beautiful but the beds are very small and no air conditioners in our room. We went in early July and it was very warm in the room.

Not great but probably best in town”
Everything in this town is “historic” or in other words very old. The rooms are tiny. The floors are really creaky. No elevator. No AC. Windows hard to open and loud at night. No modern amenities. From what I saw of the other hotels in town this is the same for them all. So don’t expect to find any standard lodging in this town. If you want real accommodations you probably need to stay in Durango

Grand Imperial”
Nice if your goal is to visit a hotel from the 1880s, everything was OK, no elevator and long staircase - no fridge in room to put your travel foods. and too pricey for a museum visit.

Above average”
Room was 81 degrees. No air conditioning and no screens on the windows to open without bugs getting in. Too hot to get any sleep. Shower setup terrible. Was not informed of parking regulations like they are supposed to and got a ticket. Desk clerk was unapologetic.

Won't book again”
Room faced main street which led to noisy night events; couldn't play any video (i.e., Youtube) due to poor wifi bandwidth; couldn't take a bath on first night because bathtub's drain stopper didn't work. The result? Very disappointed! We won't book again.

terrible experience”
check in time is 3:00pm. we sat in lobby for 1.5 hours waiting for our room at 4:30pm. Next day returned to the room at 5:00pm after being gone all day, bed unmade, no fresh towels. The TV remote did not work and had to go to the desk for a new one. Internet is slow. Poor value for the money
