Great view but ”

Staff were wonderful. Views and location awesome but the seaview apartment looks old, dirty and very tired. Won't be back.

Great location next to the ocean and marina. Easy access to the rest of the island.

Nice spot, poorly maintained ”

The apartment had a good layout in a nice position, but was poorly maintained. In the main suite, the roller blind above one main window was missing (just the bracket was left) so we needed to use a blanket as a makeshift curtain to block out light. The TV in the bedroom was in the cupboard and not working. The mosaic tiles in the shower recess were loose and falling out with many missing already. The cleanliness of the floor was poor with lots of long hairs mopped into corners in the kitchen, toilet and bathroom. There was even drops of dried urine on the toilet floor. On top of that, we had constant noise during the day with renovation going on in the apartment above. Loud drilling and hammering meant that our 1 year old couldn't sleep during the day. I would expect that we be asked if noise might be problem when we check in. Overall, disappointed after paying a premium price for premium accommodation that didn't deliver.

Prime location ”

Staff called early to say room was available. Very friendly checkin. Room was spacious and clean. Would absolutely return. Hopefully an extra few nights next time

Weekend away ”

Was good escape, bit pricey if your not planning on using all areas (gym, pool etc) but was a great room amazing view, across the road from ferry and IGA and car hire

Aircon didn't work, couldnt sleep most of the night.staff were not very friendly

Holiday by the Ocean”

My husband and I were very disappointed with location of our apt. After booking months ahead and paying over $365 per night we were put into a back unit overlooking a back door of the apts in front of us and very poor water view or anything as far as that is concerned.

Gorgeous views and pools!”

walking distance from the ferry stop with multiple pools. Be sure to take a swim in the pool at the back of the complex as the view is amazing.

Close to ferry”

Other than it being close to the ferry (100m)... there's no food on offer here, so you'll need to walk. No access to the beach from the hotel either, but they are equipped with 4 pools. It's more like a serviced apartment, not a hotel, so don't expect your place cleaned for the length of your visit. I'd stay elsewhere next time.

Amazing Views”

lost a key which we had to pay $150. Was written on paper we took away after booking in, but would have appreciate it having been mentioned to us as well.

Exciting stay attending a wedding on a beautiful island

Really fantastic”

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at these apartments, from beginning to end. Firstly, Rita called us ahead of time to book our airport transfer and ferry from Townsville - now that's service. Then, the apartments are just a short walk from the island's ferry terminal, the staff checked us in warmly and quickly, and we were in the fabulous infinity pool overlooking the sea within 20 mins of touching down in Magnetic! The staff made excellent recommendations re hiring a 4wd (which you can do through them as well) to be able to get to the best bays on the island (Florence, Arthur, West Point beach). I'd love to go back here some day.

My stay was decent didn't stay in the hotel much liked the pool liked the kitchen the pool disliked how you had to pay for a beach towel that sucked but everything else was decent

being very close to the ferry was great just a short walk to our apartment, we also had great help from the staff nothing was to much trouble, the island itself was fantastic drove a open roof moke which was a lot of fun. i certainly would not hesitate to tell people about magnet island i for one will come again and stay at the grand mercure.
