A luxury, quality, hotel experience”

The Grand Millennium offers plenty for the solo traveller, couples or families. It is a hotel in the classic mold, luxury, service, quality decor and style. The building itself is grand and stately, the decor lending itself to a mid-century/Japanese aesthetic. I enjoyed the retrospective feel and classic sense of luxury. The staff were highly professional and everything from check in, to parking, to room service went smoothly. The restaurant and bistro were both very good. The gym and sauna are decent, clean and reasonable. I note the Grand Millenium is now listed as a four star hotel rather than a five star. To upgrade the services available, I would like to see a coffee plunger and good coffee in the rooms. A mini bar in the room. A better quality breakfast buffet and most importantly, a greater range of cocktails, especially gin cocktails, available at the bar. I would definitely stay at the Grand Millennium again, for a girl's weekend away or other special events, and I would recommend the Grand Millenium to others.

Pleasantly Surprised”

My wife and I only stayed one night in a King Club Room following a cruise. Prior to joining the cruise we had some spare time so we visited the Grand Millennium just to see what it looked like. Thought it looked Ok but still had some small doubts. Any doubts we had disappeared from the moment we checked in. We arrived at 9.00am from the cruise and they gave us a room straight away. The room was clean and comfortable and of a good size. The bed was great. My wife liked what she saw. The early check in allowed us a day of exploring Auckland. The room also included access to the Executive Club for drinks and canapes plus a buffet breakfast. We were also given a late check out which suited us very well as we had a late flight home. We booked this room through AGODA and after comparing the rates to other Hotel websites we were extremely happy with what we not only paid but saved. We would stay at the Grand Millennium again.

Excellent hotel with excellent service!”

The food, room and friendly & helpful staff.

one of the most enjoyable hotel stays that my husband & i have had. we have travelled alot in the usa & enroute from here and i have yet to have the same level of service as what we experienced at the rendezvous. the food was excellent regardless if it were room service or at the very comfortable resturant. you should know that we were in auckland to visit my very sick mother in icu at auckland hospital. we were already under a lot of stress. your staff, your hotel were just marvellous and just really helped us at a very worrying time. we enjoyed a 'good deal' via the agoda website (accessed in some great haste via my cellphone) and even though i managed to input the wrong date, the desk staff very kindly corrected it and allowed us to stay at the same great rate. so please let me take this opportunity to convey my grateful thanks to your staff for making things just that little bit easier for us at a particulary trying time. thank you.

Crown amongst the jewels”

Value for money

Fantastic....as you can see , we have travelled a bit and had many a hotel experience. We now travel to Auckland quite often and have been trying to find the ideal place to stay in the central city. Our criteria is always around value for money, location (don't want to drive after dinner and a couple of wines), parking at a good price and a feeling of luxury without a feeling of emptying the coffers! Well...guess what....we have found the ideal place. Booked through Agoda deluxe room was night using points. I think the pre discount price was . Either one, this hotel represents good value. (Agoda took points for the difference??) The deluxe room #301 was large with a view to tree lined street opposite the Police Station. Could have been a little noisy if the boys in blue had a busy night but this Friday night must have been a quite one as there was only one squad car and siren leaving their car park in a hurry. Everything about the room was nice. Fresh, clean, comfortable, with good air-con, fridge, TV, phone, jug, desk, chair, easy sofa, foot stool, nice towels, crispy sheets and lovely big comfortable mattress. If I was to be really picky I would suggest some maintenance in the shower to replace the discoloured white grouting between the tiles. Self parking next to the hotel with internal hotel access (level 8) was night. We did not use the hotel restaurant or pool unfortunately (we were too busy). Located just off Queen Street and about 10 minutes easy walk down to the Viaduct basin which is a great people watching place!!

Exceptional”

We had a good stay at the Grand Millennium. We stay here every year after our annual TNA ball . The front desk were very accomodating and friendly. However we were appalled at the amount of time it took for housekeeping to answer their phone and bring towels or any of our requests to our room. The first couple of times we called they didn't answer. We waited almost 20 minutes for extra towels to be delivered and half an hour for a bucket of Ice cubes to be delivered to our room. Staying at the Grand Millennium is not cheap, it would be nice if the service matched it's prices. We stayed at a club room. When I went to get a coffee at 10.10am I was told that the coffee machine was already turned off. The club room is open until 10.30am, therefore the coffee machine should not be switched off so early. We are having second thoughts about staying here next year!

Relaxing stay in burstling city”

pool and gym; location; comfort

We enjoyed our stay. Check-in was real fast, without having to show the confirmation (that is rare!). Our room was tidy, clean, spacious. I used some Agoda points so the price was really acceptable. The weather was average in Auckland, so we decided to head for the swimming pool. We enjoyed the fresh towels and the water was clean. Not so many channels on the TV. The hotel is off Queen St, so very close to Auckland main attractions. We definitely recommend the hotel for a comfortable city stay.

Great staff!”

Upon arriving to the hotel we were greeted by friendly staff. The hotel manager, Jamie checked us in and was very kind and friendly. He asked what bought us to Auckland I said it was to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and he made sure he made the trip extra special to us and looked after us very well and upgraded us to a better room. My girlfriend said this has been one of the best birthday she ever had , thank you Jamie you're awesome. We're very grateful for the service by the staff at the hotel. 10/10 recommend for anyone trying to find a place to stay in Auckland. Very close to city centre and a lot of good restaurants.

A hotel which makes you want to stay longer”

Great room with a view

We were so impressed with our initial stay that we decided to extend it for a couple more days. The room we were given was really nice, spacious and comfortable. It even had an excellent view of the Sky Tower. Since the hotel is in Mayoral Road, which is in the elevated part of Auckland City Central, the hotel's subway access to Aotea Square makes it really convenient for hotel guests to get to Queen Street and all the shops and restaurants that litter the area. For the price we paid, it was definitely worth way more than what we paid for.

Good value, great location, spacious rooms”

Gym, pool, sauna, big rooms, black-backed curtains

The old Carlton Hotel is now the Rendezvous Grand and it's still a great place to stay. Rooms are large and comfortable, with good soft furnishings, a big bath and separate shower, decent beds and all the little things you'd expect from a large former 5 star. Free 3 hours wifi (but its from initial login, and you cannot logout and return later to use the balance) and free local phonecalls makes this a useful base for business customers who have work or meetings in the CBD. Overlooks the Aotea Centre and the Auckland Town Hall in the absolute heart of the city. Fully equipped gym, pool and sauna are clean and excellent.

Large room, comfortable beds, very clean

This was our first visit to Auckland, and we are happy we chose the Rendezvous Grand. Some things we liked are: Coffee pot, refrigerator, mini bar, hair dryer, ironing board, wi-fi access in room, many nice restaurants withing walking distance, Skytower and Inter City bus also within walking distance, hop on - hop off bus stop within walking distance. We had a great time at the Rendezvous Grand and we will definately recommend it to any visitor.

Amazing hotel. Luxurious and comfortable. Friendly staff who are willing to do anything to make your stay most memorable. This hotel I would love to stay at any time in Auckland. Located in close proximity of the Sky city Tower it has a very good location in the downtown area. It’s in easy walking distance of Albert street, Queens street and Federal lane. The lobby entrance is big and grand. The staff at the front desk are very hospitable too.

Gorgeous Stay”

Amazing interior, room very nice and comfortable and the bed was incredibly comfortable, great value for money
None

Rendevous Hotel in Auckland was really nice. The hotel itself is really comfortable with its own bar and restaurant and the rooms are really clean and comfortable. The staff are very helpful. The bed itself is really comfy. Value for money was brilliant. Was sorry that we had only one night to stay there but will stay again when we are back in Auckland. Views from the hotel of the Skycity are also lovely especially at night time

Charming venue with exellent service”

comfortable ,quiet room .

I have stayed in many hotels over many years and rate The Rendezvous very highly. The service was magnificent and everything promised was delivered. We ate in the Japanese restarant which was a very nice meal and had breakfasts in the dining room which was supurb. One very minor critisim would be that we went to Auckland to see the Mary Poppins stage show and asked what time the dining room would be open as we were going to the show. The person gave us the time but did not tell, us there was a special deal for the show.We read about this when we got back to the hotel.

Well Done!”

Great rooms, great service, great night!

Rooms are intelligently laid out. I love the chaise couch/television/desk area. The bathrooms are even better. They have both a full sized whirlpool tub, and a separate shower. Never heard a peep from anyone outside our room. For comfort I don't know how you could improve on these rooms. This was our first trip to Auckland and so we were a little more high maintenance than usual. The staff was more than up to the challenge- arranging cheap airport shuttle service, and directing us to some great sights for our excursion. The only downfall to this hotel, I felt, was the weight room. The cardio equipment was fine, but the resistance equipment was older and more feeble than my grandmother. My kids are older, and so weren't interested in the pool anyway, but it's a small shallow rectangle in a narrow box. With the rest of the hotel being so nice, it was a surprise.

great as usual!”

very comfortable, centrally located, wonderful breakfast

Second time at RendezVous Grand hotel Auckland and it was as great as the first time! The hotel is centrally located, very comfortable and well furnished (it has been renovated few years ago). it has the best breakfast buffet I've ever seen! High speed internet in the room, nice gym with indoor swimming pool, long enough to hold series of laps.

Great stay!”

We stayed at the Club room for one night before leaving Auckland. We are very pleased with this hotel - clean, beds super comfy, staff friendly, especially the lady staff serving in the Club lounge (think she’s from Nepal). Our family find the Club room value for money with complimentary parking, access to Club lounge, free breakfast. However, we will initially confused when booking via agoda which have options of with and without breakfast for Club room bookings. After checking with hotel directly, we were assured that all club rooms come with breakfast.

The best hotel for its value with modern design.”

Beautiful room, modern furnishings, large basic bathroom with tub.

Fast check in, big room. The bedroom furnishings made it feel like a 5 star business hotel. Toilet furnishings was 3 star but saved by its large size and bathtub. The free wifi made this place so much more convenient to stay at as well. Was at the 8th floor so didnt hear any noise from the street level. Had tired other hotels while in auckland but Rendezvous Grand Hotel Auckland even surpassed the No.1 ranked hotel on Trip Advisor. We will recommend and stay here again!
