Nice Hotel in Good Location”
I booked this hotel because of the location (withing walking distance to my daughter's apartment) as well as the reviews that I read online. The rooms were well maintained and the staff was friendly. This was my first time in China. James, who I believe was the Assistant Manager was especially helpful with directions and advice on where to go and how to get there. I was very appreciative since I only speak English. I would definitely stay at the Grand Regency on my next visit to Qingdao.

Early luxury hotel in Qingdao”
Before international the uber luxurious brand arrives in Qingdao, there was Grand Regency Hotel, or called Lijing Hotel. This place is as good as a 1980's Chinese hotel can get, and it was refurbished with cable TV (international programme). The hotel was located in strategic location, had good service with large room. Airport shuttle which costs 20 RMB per person, and airport taxi fees is around RMB 120 per trip. This hotel was less than 5 minutes walk to eating street where you can find local food, shopping mall and convenience store too.

Great place to stay though the facility is bit old”
I have stayed at this hotel around 20 years ago. By the time it was the best hotel in Qingdao. Other big brands has been built new hotels. But the location and the service of Grand Regency is still in place. Price is very reasonable. Strongly recommended.

Nice hotel, english speaking staff & good location”
The superior room was large, little bit old fashion and acceptable clean. There is no seperated shower place and the bathroom better can have a little refurbishment. If you don't make a big deal about this all, like me, then it is a nice room to stay in. The staff of the hotel mostly speak decent english and there service was very good. I really enjoyed my stay in the Grand Regency Hotel and Qingdao in general ofcourse.

stayed at the grand for one night, had dinner at the buffet with business partners. the selection was pretty good, seafood, sushi, meats and salad's , desert offering was good. the room was comfortable and clean. i would stay next time in qingdao at this hotel.

I would stay in this hotel again”
The hotel is actually big. the rooms are located in a wing whereas, the activity center (swimming pool, gym, there is even a squash court) located in a connected building. There are several conference halls in the building itself. Staff was accomodating. rooms are okay. The hotel is located in the central area as well but i didint notice shops nearby so if you are travelling to Qingdao for shopping, this may not be the hotel for you. But you may grab a taxi and go to the nearby shops, sights and beaches. The people are actually friendly.

I have stayed at this hotel many times over 10 years. Cleanliness and fittings are as good as ever. Its a hotel in the tradition Chinese style but is much better than most I have stayed in. Its located in a convenient location in Qingdao for the businesses I visit. As there is little to no parking in this area, its convenient to walk to the offices nearby. I had a great seafood buffet on the visit, as good as any international hotel.

First time in Qingdao, stayed for 2 nights. Smooth check-in. Location slightly far from touristy places though taxi easy to find and relatively cheap. Food not sure there were many breakfast places around the hotel. Didn't have enough time to try out the gym. Room was large, and clean. Airport shuttle from hotel was great - there were 2 of us and not sure for that reason, we had a car take us to the hotel! (had to pay but believe cheaper than a taxi)

this hotel locates at the central business district of qingdao. as a result, there are many japanese staying in this hotel. however, i find the hotel is bit old. despite this, the room is large and the restaurants are quite ok. besides, the price of this hotel is good for business trip. however, if you are coming to qingdao with your family, i will recommend other hotels near the yacht centre.

simple neat and clean facility. the lobby is big but always crowded. variety of in house dining options. location is good, right in the middle of qingdao cbd area, useful for business person. the traffic is bad in the evening so may take awhile to reach your destination during these period i.e. getting to or moving away from the hotel

Hotel listing do not show the essential requirement for business traveller like free internet, break fast inluced in price or not until the room is selected or paid for the room. Once paid no way to correct the mistake if any happens. Even within few minutes correction not allowed and contacting the support service is hopeless. Only recorded message and holding the telephone line for long time the line gets cutoff.

The hotel is in a very large area. It seemed to be in a convenient location, since the boardwalk was only a few minutes away by cab. Whilst the room fascilities were comfortable, the bathrooms did not come to standard. The bathroom appointments are okay excep for some mildew in the grouting which I find unacceptable for the hotel category. Breakfast selection is sufficient.

Almost, but not quite”
The hotel seems grandeur and really fancy at first glance. But upon closer look, the details just didn't quite make it seem that nice. 3 star hotels in the US are much cleaner and pay attention to details. For eg, some windows going to the swimming pool were cracked. No one bothered to fix them? The service was outstanding. They always came within minutes whenever we called. The internet was decent. They only give coffee once a day or else charge for extra coffee packets. Besides that, for China it's decent, but not quite.

Great Location but old rooms”
the room is a little old, bathroom is not good. shower is too small. Bed is soft and big. Buffet breakfast is horrible, limited choices and poor service. Overall it doesn't feel like a 5-star hotel. more like a 4.5 star.

Not the service and the quality of a 4-star hotel”
The regency is a classic Chinese 4-start hotel with baroque decor and a kind of sad, faded look. The check-in was very long and the hotel was unable to find my reservation. I've got a room on the 5th floor and at around 1am some construction work was going on somewhere around. People were replacing pipes and hammering the walls in the middle of the night. I complained but they would not stop the work. Eventually in the middle of the night they moved me to another floor. This completely ruined my night. I would not recommend this hotel at all following this bad experience.
