Amazing Choice for a Solo Black Female Traveler”
First... Thank you to the amazing staff at The Grand Riviera Princess! I was so happy with my choice. I was a bit hesitant while I read some of the reviews, but I couldn't have asked for a more amazing trip. I spent 4 days/3 nights at the resort and opted to stay in a Deluxe Junior Suite with Jacuzzi. My room came with 2 Double beds, closet, personal safe, mini fridge, television, bathroom, and a lovely balcony with seating area. While it is an older property, it is well maintained. The room was clean, and had everything you would need for a comfortable stay (except a microwave - which I really didn't need because All food and Drink is included). Shower water pressure and temp was perfect. Beds were comfy. On to Food - I chose to dine at the main Riviera Buffet most days, because I woke up just about 1/2 way through the scheduled breakfast time on most days and it was closest to my room. The food selections were pretty varied and included everything from fresh fruit, cereal, eggs, coffee, tea breakfast burritos for breakfast, and Pizza, Empanadas, Rotisserie Chicken, Salad and so much more for lunch & dinner. They have pretty much anything you could think of including a selection of wine and other beverages. If you’re looking for a fine dining experience, be sure to book your reservation through the hotel app in advance. There are about 6-7 restaurants to choose from aside from the Buffets. For late night eats visit the “5th Ave Sports Bar” Open until 2am everyday. Getting Around - It is a massive resort so be ready to walk. My shins were literally sore every day. There are shuttles, but they take about 15-20 minutes to come around. The Beach - I may be a bit biased since I’m from the Caribbean, but the beach was fairly nice… just a bit too much seaweed for me. The staff do a good job of trying their best to rake up the seaweed and they even have a Scarbat machine that picks up the seaweed piles. There are lots of Cabanas and Loungers… just be sure to get t

Easy vacation!”
We were very happy with our stay at the Grand princess Riviera. There was plenty to do here to stay on site all day every day. We played beach volleyball, went to the pool (s), used their paddle boards, played in the ocean. It was seaweed season, but the hotel was out cleaning up the seaweed every evening that had washed ashore. The only thing that I wasn't thrilled with was the food. It was fine, but it wasn't great. After 3 days, were ready to go into town for better fare. The staff was friendly and helpful, the place was clean. We would go back again if this is the kind of vacation that we were seeking again. Don't forget to get out and see what Playa del Carmen and the rest of the area has to offer!

My husband and I celebrated our 50th year wedding anniversary, and this resort was perfect, and it’s beautiful! The swimup rooms are great! People are very friendly, and the service was excellent! I do recommend this resort. Great for the price!

Just gets better and better”
I hadn't been there for more than five or six years, so I knew The Grand Riviera Princess was a very nice resort. However, I didn't think it could get much better, but boy was I wrong! My wife and two kids really had a GREAT TIME! The bubble cannons at the beach are fabulous fun! The food and service is even better than we remembered. I honestly can't think of one single thing bad or even mediocre to say about the experience. It was just Great!! We definitely have to do it again, like next year.

All inclusive ”
Great staff, great facilities. Drinks and food were plentiful. My only complain is the Oriental restaurant (Miso) was not really close to real Chinese/Thai cuisines. Other than that, place is beautiful and worth the money.

Excellent resort ”
This resort is huge and a lot of things to see and do. We stayed 6nights and didn’t used or see other parts of the resort. All staff are exceptional. Pools are clean, the beach is gorgeous, food are all right. Drinks are yummy, plus a lot of animals are living there these add another awesome things about this resort. 2 things I wish they they had provided since the room we stayed was quite big (junior suite I guess that was their smallest room). I wish they had provided slippers and ropes. Again thanks for all hard working staff.

Think twice before booking here!”
From all restaurants, only 2 were open The bar from the pool closes at 5 pm! No music by the pool, only the echo from loud tourists/kids Bathrooms near the pool were extremely dirty (literally overflowing with 💩) We waited over 20 mins to receive a table for the buffet at breakfast, when we walked in, there were so many empty tables! It is an all inclusive resort, but room service is an extra charge! And is the only option youve got after 9:30 pm TERRIBLE covid measures. Not eco friendly AT ALL. Were living in 2020, this is one of the few hotels in the area that still use plastic disposable cups/plates. In general food was very disappointing. No bathrobes, no extra pillows nor blankets in room, curtains did not close completely, very small TV. The only good things about this hotel is that the hotel itself is very pretty and the staff is nice (special shoutout to Jesus working at the bar by the beach! Excellent service)

Invest a little more elsewhere ! ”
1) Sent an email 10 days before my arrival asking if there was a shuttle from the airport to the hotel, or what was the best option... never received an answer ! To get to the hotel, I bought an ADO bus ticket. At the airport, ask the security guards to know where to get a ticket. Around $12.50 one way to PlayadelCarmen, then $20 for the taxi ride to the hotel. 2) At my arrival, they didn't find my reservation Had to wait 45 minutes and they finally found the reservation ! 3) I'm working online for a hotels reviews website... so I need access to nternet... so here the free wi-fi is so poor that I had to buy a sim card in town to launch this page! 4) To have access to the free wi-fi you have to share your personal information and you have to give access to your phone! Read carefully the conditions and obligations before using it! 5) The premium wifi service doesn't work (May 2021)! So I'm unable to work online. I bought a sim card in Playa del Carmen. Around $30 to get an excellent package. It's $6 per 1.6Go/15 days with Telcel. 6) The reception and bar staff I've met seems to don't care about customers. The looks empty with no emotions, no smiles, no human kindness. There's no extra mile for you here! 7) Bell boys, gardeners and food staff are super friendly! Are very good in English. 8) Overall the site is clean. Pools are perfect for kids. 9) The basic rooms (75% of the rooms) are beige with beige sheets and beige floors... 10) Expect to walk a lot. This is a huge beige resort with stairs to go to the reception and or to your room. 11) For most of the customers (mainly from USA) they're not following the mexican government' Covid19 protocols. Staff, yes they do follow the protocols. Unfortunately, this is not something I'm doing frequently, but I definitely NOT recommend this hotel. Why not invest a little bit more to a better place, where the management is plugged on the 21st century !

Good time in Grand Riviera Princess”
It really was good time in Grand Riviera Princess! The resort is not brand new, but well maintained, clean and pleasant. I travel to different resort every year in Riviera Maya, so I have a good comparison. Princess has a very good design - the dual layout, Sunset on southern side, Riviera on northern side, Platinum to east - close to ocean works great. Plus beach to main lobbies (Sunset & Riviera) walk is nice and seems shorter, because of string of swimming pools on both sides of a walk, with plenty of activity and people around. There is enough of restaurants and large snack bars - Riviera and Sunset changing from breakfast/lunch buffets to evening restaurants- Fondue, Las Olas, Bocca and the steak house 2 is a good idea! Platinum beach was very nice, although the staff is fighting loosing battle with surf, taking the sand away. I saw some palm trees cut away, because the ocean came closer... Food was excellent and service very good. Special thanks to Platinum Lounge people!

Incredible resort, absolutely stunning!”
I could not believe how beautiful this resort was. It was our first time doing an all inclusive holiday and we were spoiled at the grand riviera princess! The food was amazing and drinks never ever stopped flowing! Beautiful spacious rooms and everywhere in the resort is spotlessly clean. The beach is so relaxing and the entertainers are great fun too! Would 100% recommend to others!

Good value for the money”
I've been to several All Inclusive resorts and in my opinion many are on the same category. It only depends on the price point. This resort is very large with well maintained grounds. The beach is eroding, as are most in the area. The food at the al a carte restaurants was much better than the buffets. The buffets were not great, but you could make do. Made to order omelettes in the morning were great. The sports bar is open 24/7 and has good food.

Broken toilet”
We stayed at the grand sunset princess platinum for 5days but when our flight was changed I had to book an extra night and had to go to riviera for just an extra night. It was a huge difference, staff was still amazing and room was clean but the toilet was broken the seat flung when I sat down and no shampoo or conditioner like in the Platnum.

Relaxing fun ”
Loved the pools and beach area. I highly highly recommend the platinum upgrade for rooms being placed close to beach, special beach area with comfortable beach chairs/more shade, and the upgraded liquor selection. Ate at one a la carte (seafood) and it was very good. The dinner buffet...only good thing I can say about it was the desserts were actually amazing. Breakfast and the taco cart by the pool plus snack foods in platinum lounge area kept me going all day. The live bands that played every nite were

Very clean and the food was great. Lots of restaurants to choose from. We called before we booked our trip and asked about what type of liquor they served. They told me it was all good quality liquor but come to find out the hard way that we needed to upgrade our stay. It was still good but not the best. The beach was terrible. Rooms are very nice and clean . Oh forgot room service is not free they charged us for order food.

This hotel and the entire property is beautiful. Be prepared to walk a lot! Food was plentiful and lots of choices, but nothing was out of this world delicious. Be sure to verify your room category. We had lots of people there for a wedding and lots of mixups on the categories. They may try to say you owe more or just place you in something less than you paid for. Just know what you should be getting when you arrive so they do not give you a lower category. Other than that, great fun in the sun!!
