Best In Reno”

The best Hotel in Reno, with beautiful rooms, and great housekeeping. All hotel employees do their best to make your stay enjoyable, and the hotel offers many restaurants, shops and activites. A stay at this hotel will keep you entertained as well as comfortable. I highly recommend The Grand Sierra Resort for anyone's stay in Reno.

Granny O”

The casino itself is awesome. The restaurants are impressive and overall all the staff we interacted with throughout the facility were very pleasant and courteous. However, was disappointed with our room. Although it was clean, the room seems to be very dated. We had a dresser that the drawer would not stay closed. The bed pillows were past their prime. Any puffiness would quickly deflat once you layed on them. Our shower curtain had a large hole near the upper half. We have stayed at Grand Sierra many times in the past and while the facility itself has had many improvements during these years, a little tic and updating should be given to certain visitors rooms in the lower floors of the hotel.

Nice hotel for the price”

GSR is a very nice hotel for the price. I loved that it wasn't among all the other casino hotels in downtown Reno but still close to everything. The facilities they offer are great. There are several restaurants that are appealing and offer all kinds of different types of food. (casual to high end). There are so many activities as well. There is the casino, a family pool and an adult only pool, a bowling alley, and a theater. There are many shops and a child care facility. There is a lot to do so you really don't have to leave the hotel if you don't want. I would definitely stay here again.

My favorite hotel in Reno ”

This hotel checks all the boxes. Great newly renovated pool, summit rooms are nice, self contained resort with great restaurants, bars and gambling areas, movie theater, conference rooms and shopping and a Starbucks in lobby too. Very nice staff as well. I’ve tried quite a few other hotels in Reno and this one is by far my favorite.

Weekday get-away.”

My wife and I go to Reno every other week and decided we were going to stay at our favorite casino. Had a great time, room was perfect. The only blemish on the entire stay was the biscuit and gravy my wife ordered for breakfast at the Grand Cafe, the biscuit was literally hard as a rock, I couldn't cut it with my steak knife. The waitress did the right thing and didn't charge me for the biscuits and gravy.

Don't believe the quoted price!”

The Grand Sierra Resort provided us with a 400+ square foot room and a king size bed. It's a city in itself with restaurants, fitness center, stores, and large pool. My biggest complaint was that there was a daily resort fee of $32+ that we weren't made aware of when we made the reservation.

Pros: things for kids to do, late night food, fun for all. Cons: none Grand Sierra remodeled their property. It is beautiful and cozy. My family and I we're pleased and plan on a few weekend getaways there this Summer.

The car show was the primary reason for the visit, gambling second, being a little older makes it harder to travel from rear of parking lot at 100* days with no water or drink, is this your normal policy of no venders outside or just a slip up. Have never stayed at any other hotel in Reno, but this is a big concern for me, as all of the other ones we visited had vendors outside.

Fun place to stay”

This was a fabulous hotel for an amazing rate. It offers so many cool features, like ice rink, movie theater, arcade, and casino. There are two 24 hour restaurants. I imagine it would be great for traveling with kids since there is a lot to do while safe in the hotel/casino while mom and dad gamble or go to the spa. The room was spotless and had a beautiful view. We would love to return and spend more time there.

Comfortable resort”

We stayed here for 4 nights, while we used it as a base camp to get our son settled into his dorm at local university. It was close to shopping and restaurants. Large room, lots of space. Comfortable bedding and nice bath. Resort was busy but large enough to not be overwhelming. On site dining had multiple choices. We liked the amenities such as bowling, go karts, movies and pool. Although we didn't have a lot of time to enjoy the resort in all its glory, we will be returning to spend more time on our next visit!

Nice hotel, updated and modern”

I have stayed at this hotel before several years ago. I always liked it and always have been very fond of it. The only disappointment this time was some of the items in my room we’re not very clean. That was a throw blanket across the bed and there was hair in my shower. I called for housekeeping to come no one ever arrived. I spoke to housekeeping and management the following day and was accommodated by having the services, that day and having my resort fees credited. Apparently because I booked through a third-party there was nothing they could do regarding my actual hotel cost. I would stay again

Very convenient location as a few minutes from airport. Shuttle to & from airport starting at 4:30 a.m. smoke free and no musty odor at this casino/hotel. Very clean and modern. Lots of restaurants with good food. Summit level 22nd fl is where I stayed and it was excellent. I would stay here again.

Great place with plenty to do, no need to leave the resort.”

The worst thing I could see is having to pay $32 resort fees per room, per day after I booked the room online through Agoda. There were people checking in the same time I was and they all had the same complaint. When it was The Hilton years ago, I never had a resort fee. On the other side of things, vacation is over, we had fun, and I would recommend GSR to anyone.

not my cup of tea ”

I realized during this stay that I don’t like hotel casinos and would be ok if I never visited one again! My reservation was for The A standard room but with this being my first stay there, I was given a room at the Grand level... I only learned this after reviewing their website the next morning. There are different levels of rooms so double check that whatever floor you end up on reflects your reservation because the person checking you in will not do it for you. The resort fee was not worth paying because it did not feel like a resort at all. Smokey, crowded, and some idiots kept running down the hall and yelling outside our room at 11 pm. The shower head had hair hanging off of it and while the room was non-smoking the smell of cigarettes have seeped into the room. The bed was very squeaky and there is NO fridge or microwave in the room either. Didn’t use room service and didn’t go to any restaurants there so can’t comment on quality of food. Glad we only had to stay one night.

Beyond My Expectations”

I wanted a hotel that had a 4-star feel, but was family friendly. I'd hoped there would be enough to do without leaving the grounds to thoroughly entertain my grandchildren. Expectations met—and exceeded. The rooms are tastefully decorated and clean. The pool is huge and meant for kids. (There is a separate pool for adults only.) The food at the poolside cafe was excellent, fairly priced, and beautifully presented. Room service was the same. My grandchildren had a great time at the arcade, and otherwise chose to live at the pool. We ended our stay with a trip to Reno's fabulous Discovery Museum (a children's interactive museum). Perfect mini-vacay.

Very good”

We reserved a King months ago. They didn't have one when we arrived, but the room with 2 queens was clean. Coffee maker in room with no to-go cups. A list of restaurants are in the room. We made reservations at a restaurant that no longer exists - pizza place now. That was frustrating. Updated hotel info would be helpful. When we were checking out, I realized I couldn't find a denim jacket. I asked the front desk person about lost and found; she told me she couldn't access the lost and found database. She suggested I "walk the casino floor to find a security guard". You've got to be kidding me -- I told her to page someone. She didn't. Soon a security guard appeared and was just about as rude as you can get....looked me in the eye and ignore my questions or comments. His name is Christopher. Not impressed with the front desk staff as a result. We'll stay elsewhere next year.
