Second Time at The Grand Sukhumvit & loved it ”

Great Location, modern styling and comfortable

I have stayed here before and because I enjoyed it so much the first time I decided to just come back to what I knew and liked. The location is great because it's pretty central to a lot of things. Touring the temples is quite easy with a tour or a private car, the public train system is a block away it seems so it is easy to travel that way if you don't want to get into a tuk tuk or a taxi. It's close to shopping and a few stops away from Pat Pong where you can enjoy the Night Markets and the Bangkok experience. Upon arrival it was quite early with the flight times and although it wasn't under the normal check in times they gladly provided me with a room that was already available for me. Although it would have been 20 more minutes for me to wait until the room was completely re-cleaned, they must have saw the tired look on my face from the flight and upgraded me to a nicer room that was ready to go. I ended up getting a king size bed with a living room and kitchenette. The bathroom was huge with a shower and a nice bath tub. I only stayed one night because I was in passing to Vietnam but I was comforted in the amenities that made it feel like home whilst being on vacation at the same time. The buffet dinner had a wide range of food and it was of pretty good quality. I enjoyed it. Front desk personnel and concierge, bellman, and security were all very welcoming and super helpful. They made going out into Bangkok a little bit easier by just giving great customer service. I have noticed that you don't really get that all too often in Asia and I was really surprised with the professionalism they had. I would suggest The Grand Sukhumvit hotel to anyone that is coming to Bangkok and will definitely be back if I am ever in the area again. Thanks for you hospitality and a memorable time in Thailand.

A reliable favorite”

Great location, friendly patient staff, spacious rooms

I've stayed with Grand Sukhumvit Hotel Bangkok - Managed by Accor many times over the past years, and will continue to visit. Staff ensure a comfortable and pleasant check in and check out, and they are attentive to needs and very helpful. The location is great for holiday makers in Bangkok, a brief walk (or tuk-tuk from hotel) from Skytrain and from busy Sukhumvit Road. Rooms are generous in size, and a very good deal at current prices. Thanks to Sukhumvit Grand!

Perfect location and frendly staff”

Very clean and modern rooms, top location, top service

Again we chose Grand Sukhumvit Hotel , Soi 6, Bangkok for our stay in Bangkok. It is a very nice Hotel with very friendly staff and the location ist top ! We felt at home and familiar with the room we had as we stayed many times there. The Staff is very friendly and accomodation is just great. Only negative point was, early morning breakfast on terrace.......tooo many group tourists , mainly from China and Korea .... the service there was not perfect. I expect that staff at breakfast buffet should know who is non-group tourist and that they should reserve a few table on terrace for individual travellers ! Nevertheless we will stay again in our favorite Hotel in Bangkok at our nex stay soon. PS for regular guests with that kind of room, free wi-fi should be a must and not charged per day Baht 390.--

Swimming pool very cold! No free internet, no wireless in room

We stayed at the Grand Sukhumvit hotel Bangkok for 1 night. The service was professional and friendly. The swimming pool is a nice place to relax, although the water was very cold. Room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. We ordered room service and it was delivered piping hot and in a timely manner. Overall an excellent hotel for the price. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Grand Sukhumvit”

Large Rooms, Nice decor, In suite Kitchen
Expensive minibar & hotel services (500 baht internet per day), no wireless internet

This was our 2nd stay at the grand Sukhumvit hotel. During our first stay we received a free upgrade to the diamond suite. Unfortunately this time around the hotel was full and we didn't receive the upgrade. However the room we did receive was up to par and was nicely laid out. My only complaint would be that the cost of additional amenities is quite expensive. Drinks, internet, etc are 10-15 times the price you can find just down the street at the 7-11 or local internet cafe. However the room price via agoda is worth the what you get regardless. I would recommend this hotel to others staying in bangkok.

Service, room standard and great facilities

the grand sukhumvit hotel is great in many ways. it's right by nana skytrain which is easily reached from the main airport. it's right in the middle of so many great venues, the food is amazing and the staff are all excellent. i would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and booking through agoda saved me around 50% of their normal price. the pool area and spa are also very nice. all in all a great way to start your time in bangkok.

Great value at Grand Sukhumvit Hotel by Accor”

Room: Very well appointed Junior Suite (Platinum Room), seems newly renovated in great condition Staff: Typical Thai mentality, friendly and helpful
Access by car can be difficult at certain periods of the day

Stayed at the Grand Sukhumvit Hotel by Accor in early December 2009. Hotel is well known and thus directing a cab to the hotel form the airport is easy. Check in was a breeze when presenting the Agoda booking confirmation. The Hotel to a large extent seems to have undergone a renovation not long ago. The room I stayed in - a so called Platinum room - which essentially is a Junior Suite had a living room with mini kitchenette and a bedroom. Both rooms were very well appointed (e.g. Plasma TV in each room) and left nothing to be desired. The service level in the hotel was standard Thai friendliness which was perfectly fine. Overall I would give this hotel a very high rating especially when combined with the attractive Agoda pricing. There are certainly cheaper hotels in the vicinity but I doubt that there is any better value available than this hotel.

Very Grande!”

Great service, nice views, value for money, and last but not least a upgrade to a suite, a wonderful gesture.
only weakness is the location, hard to get to from the other side of Sukhumvit and taxis parked outside insist on not using meters

I have stay in numerous hotels in Bangkok but was very pleasantly surprise with the Grande Sukhumvit, it has links with Sofitel so it should be 5 stars. All the receptionist was professional and efficient with that Thai charm and upon check -in I was upgraded to a suite room, which has never happen to me but from that moment on, everything seems fine but the hotel do have nice views and one of Bangkok best value for money accommodation, only quibble was the location and the taxi drivers outside who insist on not using meters.

Ticks all the boxes”

Comort, location, service

the grand sukhumvit is 2 minutes walk from nana sky train station and one station (or 15mins walk) away from asok station where you can connect with the metro. for around $6.00 you can get almost anywhere in quick, airconditioned comfort. between these two stations are the street markets, terrific street food (stuff yourself for $4.00) and excellent tailors. i recommend marty's (178/1 sukhumvit rd. between sois 8 and 10). the hotel itself is set back in a quiet cul de sac and is a quiet refuge from the hustle and bustle that is bangkok. highly recommended.

Grand Sukhumvit Accor - A great place to stay”

great staff hassle free check-in very comfortable rooms close to skytrain station (Nana) and hence close to all the shopping hotspots reasonably priced room well-stocked with all amenities
none

Very courteous staff, hassle free check-in upon presentation of hotel voucher from Agoda. Surprisingly got upgraded to Platinum Suite (had taken Diamond Suite). Very comfortable rooms. Room/Suite had all amenities and a fully functional kitchen with utensils, cooking hub and microwave. Comfortable bedroom and sitting room. The loo was clean and had all that you need. The location of the hotel is great as it is located close to the Nana Skytrain Station and hence it is extremely convenient to reach all the major shopping destinations in less than 15 minutes. Also there are always taxi available at the hotel doorstep if you are not keen to try the skytrain. There is a 7-11 right next to the hotel and it offers all that a tourist would need at any time of the day or night. The concierge is extremely helpful in guiding you regarding your location and the nearby spots and how to get to them. Also asked them for a late checkout the night before we were to leave as we had to leave for the airport at 2.00 pm and they let us have it at no extra charge. Overall it is a convenient and comfortable place to stay and would give you full satisfaction for the money you spend. Highly recommended. I would always go back and stay at Grand Sukhumvit Accor and would always book through Agoda.

Great rooms.”

Great rooms, great service.
Must pay Bht500 for 24hrs of internet.

I've stayed in Bangkok many times, the Grand Sukhumvit by Sofitel Hotel Bangkok has some very nice rooms. Very business oriented, very much like a small apartment. The only thing that I didn't like was that you had to pay for internet. I feel that for what you're paying for the room, internet should be included. Bht500 for 24hrs of internet seems a little outrageous considering most have it for free.

Getting to any hotel there from the airport on a Friday afternoon is a nightmare. Not their fault!

We liked everything about the Grand Sukhumvit hotel and it was a shame we could not stay longer. On arrival we were upgraded to a suite, which was very roomy and had absolutely everything in it, from 2 flat screen TVs to fridge and stove, nice decor and stunning views over Bangkok, day and night. Its central location and closeness to the train station make it an ideal hotel. 10 out of 10!

Pleasurable experience at Grand Sukhumvit”

Clean, modern, spacious, friendly staff, close to BTS station Nana, and convenient location.
Concierge pushing for a tailor that was not good; hotel allowing taxis to run some sort of scam in front of hotel

Overall my fiance and I enjoyed our stay at The Grand Sukhumvit tremendously. We stayed for 4 nights, and all went without a hitch. There're 3 things I'd like hotel management to improve on. 1) When my fiance asked the hotel concierge to recommend a tailor for his suits, James Tailor was recommended. However, James Tailor is not a good tailor. They are more or less an assembly line tailor serving tourists who can't really stay in Thailand long to complain should the clothes not fit right. I now believe the concierge must have got a commission from the tailor. 2) Right in front of the hotel where the guard is, taxi drivers would bother hotel guests such as us by asking where we'd like to go and would offer a very low fare, but when we agreed to go, they asked us to stop at a shop near the place we'd like to go to get them some sort of coupons. I refused and told them I'd just get in a regular metered taxi if they would not turn on their meter. This happened a few times. It was annoying. The hotel should not allow these taxi drivers to run this scam to bother tourists. I heard from a regular taxi driver that a guest complained to him that she fell for the scam and was taken to 3-4 shops before getting to her destination, and wasted almost half of her day. This is not right.

Holiday in Thailand”

Friendlyness of the staff.
Comunication standard at reception.

In general my stay at Grand Sukhumvit was very good .. this is not the first time I use the same hotel .. I will always recommened it to my friends as welll as using Agoda for their hotel bookings. Just one small comment. I think the hotel need to provide fridges with freezer compartment in the rooms, as it is very important, especially for people having to suffer from diabetics .. Ice packes are a very important item to be carried arround with insulin .. I have given my ice pack to the reception to be kept in the freezer and I made sure it goes in the freezer and the receptionest confirmed that she understood my request, but on checking out to travell back to Dubai, I was surprised to find out my ice pack for my medications was still in liquid form!! .. which means my injections are not going to be as effictive and not forget the get spoiled and for information they are very expensive injection.

Beds so comfy we actually took note of their brand. Friendly staff and fabulous location. Will stay again. Internet cafe and 7/11 next door very handy.
Not the hotel exactly but we got our laundry done next door.

We were particularly impressed with this hotels proximity to the Nana Station. With fun little night markets a laneway away, a 7-11 and internet cafe next door, a swimming pool and possibly the comfiest beds in Thailand we were very happy with our choice to stay the Grand Sukhumvit Hotel. The staff were very friendly, the place was spotless and the rooms spacious. We even found the scales in the room handy when it came to weighing our excess baggage!

Grand Sukhumvit by Sofitel is well situated just a 3 minute walk from Sukhumvit night life and many restaurants which offer many choices of both traditional Thai and Western foods. There are also many massage shops to relax after hard day shopping at the MBK and Siam Centres nearby. The BTS Skytrain is also a 3 minute walk and is an ontime and excellent method of travelling around Bangkok.

Value for money”

I was surprised to see the room layout, it was spacious, tidy and clean. I booked two silver rooms and the check in rep upgraded for me to two suites with little kitchen, living room with LCD TV and comfortable L-shape sofa, bedroom with another LCD TV and big bathroom. Location is great, near Nana BTS, it provides Tuktuk transportation to Nana BTS. There are many restaurants in Soi 4, which is a walking distance from the hotel.

I would recommend Grand Sukhumvit to my friends, because of its location, clean and nice design of the rooms. My husband and I enjoyed the live band performance, eventhough the lounge was small but we felt comfortably with the music and songs. My kids enjoyed the stay in Grand Sukhumvit because of its room, eventhough the location is nearby those bars and pub, but it didn't affect our stay in the hotel.
