A Wonderful Stay at GVR Beitou ”
My sister recommended Grand View Resort Beitou after her two vacations in Taipei. I would highly recommend this resort if you are looking for a private onsen (hotspring bathtubs)in your room. You would need to contact the customer service staff about the free shuttle service prior to arrival - first trip commences at 10 a.m. After you exit the Beitou MRT station, turn to your right and wait for a white pickup with the resort's name printed on it. The shuttle service to send you to the station takes place at the 15th and 45th minute of every hour and pickup from the station is at the hour and 30th minute (for e.g. 10 a.m and 10.30 a.m.) I contacted the resort staff at the MRT station and while waiting, I had my breakfast nearby. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly service staff at the resort who gave us very detailed recommendations about places to visit near Beitou. He was knowledgeable and was patient with his explanations when we asked a few questions. The room which I stayed in had 2 bathtubs - 1 for hotspring water and another 1 for cold water. There are also a shower area and a separate toilet cubicle with electronic toilet seat. The toilet bowl cover will lift up automatically before you use it as it has a sensor. My hubby was impressed with it. The toiletries and snacks provided were delightful! I used the facial mask provided after a day's travelling and the snacks were healthy and tasty. A music CD was also available for our enjoyment when we soaked in the hotspring water tub. Breakfast comes with buffet items as well as an ala carte dish. The variety of buffet items is limited but they were scrumptious. Overall, it is a 5-star resort (I paid SGD600 for a night's stay at the highest floor - 6th floor - with a view of the trees) with 5-star service. :) An area for improvement would be for the staff to respond to email queries pro
Excellent Choice for Spa”
I had an excellent overnight stay at Grand View Resort Beitou during Feb 2017. Pros: - Location: the hotel is located near all the other hot spring resorts in the Beitou area, less than an hour drive from downtown Taipei. - Hotel Facilities/Rooms - the hotel facilities were of top quality - the room (including the bathroom) was clean, spacious and very well kept. The room came with two hot spring spa tubs - one for hot spring and the other one for cold water. Both were very large and can easily fit multiple people. - Service was also of top quality. - Breakfast portions were very generous and was a nice touch after a relaxing night at the hotel. Cons: - Price: I guess this is the local market price. Hotels in Taiwan are generally very pricey by global standards. - Dinner at the Chinese restaurant downstairs was decent, but a bit overpriced at over NT$2,000 per person. Overall, I had a very satisfactory stay at the Grand View Resort Beitou and would definitely return for another visit.
I love Grand View Resort Beitou!!!!!”
The staff at Grand View Resort Beitou are wonderful and welcoming. Once we step out of our taxi, we were greeted at the door. Roxy made us feel pampered as she asked us to relax at the couch with cups of teas while she prepares for our checkin. Very professional. I woke up early next day and explore the beautiful hotel while my family slept in. John who was just about to finish his night shift, offer to help me take pictures when he saw I was trying to take selfies. He was so sweet. I ask him for recommendation for what to do around town and how to get to the thermal pool. He was nice to show me a short cut to the thermal pool. He got of work late because of me. Coco and Charles were very helpful with booking our shuttles to and from town for my group of 11 people. They even booked a great hot pot restaurant in town. It was good. One of the most memorable thing of the hotel is the private indoor hot springs and cold water spa in my room. You just can beat that. I will be back!!
Remote but fantastic hotel”
we stayed in grand view resort beitou for one night on 12 dec 2012 (superior room). it is located way up a hill and can be quite frightening to go up by car at night. the road was narrow, long, winding and full of other hotels. upon finding the hotel, however, we started to relax and enjoy. the check-in service was good and we had dinner at their western restaurant before going up to the room (the service at the restaurant was flawless, but the fare not bad, though not great). the room was the main highlight of the stay. there was a cold tub and a hot spring tub, and a separate shower and toilet. the vanity counter had two basins, which made it very convenient for us to get ready (there were three of us sharing the room). the sulphur smell from the hot spring water can be quite overwhelming, though. another downside is that the water heater wasn't working at first and we had to get the housekeeping to fix it (which take a rather long time). the room was very well appointed, with comfortable beds and a day bed at the balcony. the bathroom had a wide variety of toiletries and spa items for guests to use (anything from face mask to toner!) and the minibar is free. there were healthy nut snacks (very good), dessert from the western restaurant (not bad), fresh fruits, japanese sake, beer, mineral water, high grade chinese tea, western tea and a nespresso machine. the breakfast that we had the next day was fantastic. though the semi-buffet spread is small, the quality is good and the a la carte main course for breakfast is beautifully done. overall, a beautiful hotel in a quiet location, with awesome room facilities, fantastic service and a good breakfast. recommended for a one-night stay to rest and relax before exploring taipei.
One of the nicest hot spring resorts ever”
A good resort to us means good service, nice big room with great facilities and yummy food. GV Beitou ticked all three nicely. From the moment we checked in to the detailed walk through of our room to the spa & airport transport booking, all were done promptly and smoothly. Everywhere we went, the service team always greeted us with a warm service and offered to be of service, be it taking pictures, sharing details of & suggesting nearby attractions or weather forecast. Room wise, it is a nice big room with quality king sized bed with welcome fruits & snacks and free minibar access. The bespoke, relaxing music sets a relaxing ambience and helped us decided to stay in most of the time. We can either chill at the balcony with forest view or in the hot & cold sulphur tubs. Influenced by Japanese style of presentation, the sunshine breakfast tasted as good as it looked. It takes abt 15 mins to serve from the moment we were seated. Set breakfasts are served and we have 2 options; Western or Taiwanese Chinese style. To us, the Taiwanese set taste better, relatively. We can opt for a range of drinks from organic soya bean milk to various fruit juices to coffee & tea. Do opt for a window facing seat if you can to better enjoy the zen hill view outside. I tried the back massage and facial package at the ESPA spa (standard price not on promotion). It is one of the better massage experience in Taiwan, similar to Thai massage techniques. The facial was the best part of it where the therapist did a thorough check of my skin condition before applying the suitable lotions. My skin was glowing when I left the spa and remains so up to now as I wrote this review (3 days later). Highly recommended! It will be helpful if they could offer more promotional spa packages to attract house guests to try.
As a hot Springs lover”
I am a hot Springs lover, this time I stayed at Grand View Resort. This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in Beitou! Service, cleanliness, food and beverages, amenities, facilities, all are the best! Usually I will try out different hotels if I pay visit to Beitou, this one I will certainly come again, see ya!
Great Service, Clean Hotel”
I really enjoyed my stay at Grand View Resort Beitou. Services provided by the hotel was great, all staffs were polite. They even left sojiu for us after we return from outside. However, one downside of the hotel was the renovation that was going on beside the hotel. It disrupted the quiet environment. Other than that, everything was great. Will definitely go back.
One of the best hotels ive been to!”
i called the hotel a day prior to checking-in to see if they could arrange a bday cake (which was so soft and delicious!) for my partner. they were so thoughtful to call me at 1pm the next day to tell me our room was ready (check-in time is 3pm) and to check if we will be arriving soon so they could place they cake in the room for a surprise when he enters. gvrb is located far up the hill and you'll pass by many hotspring hotels but the exterior doesnt even look half as good as gvrb, though they probably cost way lesser..check-in was efficient and they showed us to our room in no time. the room was splendid! though our room was on the 3rd floor, from the balcony we could see the swimming pool, parts of a town and some greenery from a nearby hill - was just perfect to enjoy the cool air and their turn-down drink - japanese plum liqueur. generous range of toiletries and most products come from their spa. make-up removing lotion, face moisturizer and face mask! even the facial cleasner has a "his" and "hers"! which hotel does that!? the toilet had a built-in toto bidet and warmed toilet seat which i really appreciate because i cant stand (pun intended) icy cold toilet seats in hotels. in-room hotspring was lovely, dipping in hot white sulphur spring water was heavenly plus they have a 1-way glass so you could enjoy the view out there without worrying about your privacy. they also have free shuttle svcs to beitou train station every hour, free dvds rental, a gym, guest lounge with snacks and drinks and complimentary use of public hotspring - all in good clean condition. all in all, i really enjoyed my stay here and will surely return for a longer stay the next time i visit taipei!
Great place for inner respite”
The service at Grandview is splendid. Attentive staff made sure your every needs is taken care off without being too intrusive. Breakfast was of international standard. A must try is the french toast. Best one I've had ever! Beds were comfortable with complimentary in-room pajamas and minibar comprising chinese tea, nespresso coffee and daily fruits and yogurt. The private in-room hot spring/coldspring tubs overlooking the Beitou city and Yang Ming Shan mountain was also fantastic. Although the hotel is halfway up the mountain, the hotel shuttle to and from Beitou MRT made it extremely convenient to get around. For some quiet activity, it is easy to do a short hike upwards the mountain to see some temples, or downwards towards the Thermal Valley and other attractions. Just opened in 2011, everything was clean and new. I had an amazing stay at Grandview and would definitely pay to go back again for some quiet getaway.
Great hot spring hotel”
It is worth every penny if you want to spend a relaxing day in this private hot spring hotel. We stayed at a family room, equipped for 4 people, with large bathtub enough for 3 adults & balcony area with mountain view. Toilet & shower booth is separated to give enough privacy. Service was nice & attentive from when we arrived till we left by taxi. Location is not near from Beitou center, but that guaranteed a peaceful night & morning. Breakfast was served exactly as per the picture shown when we check in. We missed a chance to check out the swimming pool, as we were told that pool is filled with cold water, and only a small hot spring tub is next to it. It was rainy & sort of chill, so we did not use the pool. Private hot spring in the room was good enough for us. I would strongly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Taipei and want to treat yourself with relaxing hot spring.
I and my husband love this resort so much. Very relax and peaceful place. It has shuttle bus between Beitou st & resort that makes convenient transportation. We enjoy hot spring at our room. Breakfast is very good too. Their staff are very friendly and professional, especially Jade who helped us for check-in. Beitou Museum is just next door so we only walk there in 1 min for visiting.
lovely hotel and service with a smile”
Very nice hotel located in beitou spring district. A pretty new 5 star hotel with mordern design. Everything is so nice except the price is a bit expensive. Staffs are very friendly. In room mini bar food and drinks are free. Room is big and the view is nice. Both indoor and outdoor spring.
Very well designed Hotel with Excellent service”
The stay over at grand view resort beitou was a real eye opener. I never did met such good service in my entire life, though I may not be that old... The Decor and the ambiance of place would be a 10/10 for me too. impressive bed, impressive spa, impressive decor, even provides u with a relaxation CD! haha The downfall of the hotel would be that the food provided were too creative for my palate and didn't really suit my taste. And the fact that its rather far up on the hill top, its not really a good hotel to stay if you want to explore Beitou, especially at night... But it is a really impressive couple getaway!
Great hot spring resort experience ”
We stayed over the Chinese New Year period but the hotel never seemed crowded or too busy. We took the shuttle from Beitou MRT (the tourist information staff in the station can direct you to the stop). The room was nice, overlooking a hill/park. We were on the top floor, so it was pretty quiet. The in-room baths were very nice, and the rooms and bathrooms well-appointed. The hotel provided a cot, baby bath and baby toiletries (as well as a bottle steriliser, which we didn't need but would be useful if you did). The public baths downstairs were very nice, one is larger than the other but they alternate male/female each day. I went early in the morning one day, and after check out time another day, and both times there was only 1 other person in there. Breakfast was good, but the restaurant was always very cold (at dinner, too), so bring a coat if you're there in winter. Go next door to the museum (the driveway next to the hotel).
Comfortable stay but on-going construction nearby”
One of the best hotel we have stayed in Taipei in terms of service, ambience and staff quality. A bit far from eateries and local shopping area, on-going construction opposite the hotel spoilt what would be a really comfortable stay. Hotel Provide shuttle bus service to Beitou station but it was rather squeezey. The nice in-room hot spring makes up for everything. Would be better if the bathroom and toilet doors are not transparent in the family suite.
hot spring room. spacious, luxury”
the most expensive hotel in the hot spring area in beitou taipei, service was great room amenities are great, great hot spring tub big enough for 4 adults. refreshments are free. free wifi, but dinner (chinese style) was terrible tastes bad and very expensive, i should have eaten outside. decent breakfast (chinese or western style) tasted much better. free rides to nearby beitou train station has other restaurants to choose.
Spring water spa is great”
The hotel hot spring spa is great. It is located inside the room. There are cold water pond and hot water pond. Night time will be slightly quiet but you can rent movie to watch in the room or drink at the lobby. The hotel provide shuttle bus from mrt station to hotel at the interval of 10 mins. You can tour around the beitou town during day time. In short, the hotel is ideal for family gathering
relaxing place with great service”
The hotel design and environment is great. Just half hour from Taipei City, you could reach a place of relaxing Beitou with hot spring and fresh air. The in room hot spring tub is spacious and clean. The tub is facing the mountain and you could have a view with the plum wine serviced by the hotel during your soak. If you a hot spring lover, you should try the public hot spring bath. The hot stone bed there is great.
highly recommended this hotel, nice staff, nice nice nice. first time to beitou and enjoy so much staying there, definitely will go back. onsen inside the room is so nice, neat and tidy. spacious room, relaxing atmosphere..... little comment : would be nice if the bed is slightly bigger and if restaurant can close at 10pm.
Excellent room condition and impressive view aroun”
We enjoyed the stay in Grand View Resort very much. The hotel is new and the room condition is excellent. We stayed in room facing the hill and the view at day is impressive. We particularly enjoyed the in-room hot spring facilities and the in-room balcony. The size of the in-room hot spring bath tubs is spacious. One serves for cold water and another larger one serves for the hot spring. The whole environment of the hotel is relax and comfortable. It would be great if the hotel can set up a snack corner or snack vandoring machines. Not much food choices nearby apart from the hotel restaurants.
