Not the best option”
We knew we were choosing a lower budget option, but this was a bit more bare bones than we had been led to believe from the website. We hardly saw any staff the whole time we were there, our room was never serviced, we had only two towels and two bottles of water for a three-person room, the bathroom sink drained directly onto the floor. There were no amenities of any sort. In short, it was a place to sleep, but nothing more than that.

The only good thing of this hotel is the breakfast. The a/c didn't work well at all, even I turned on the fan; still felt like I was in the oven. The room looks nice and clean but not ideas where those ants coming from, and I didn't eat any snacks in the room. Staff is not really that helpful, whenever I asked; he just pointed me to the his boss because of the language. However, he has his cell phone with him all the time, can use Google translate right? The owner didn't really helpful as well, asked for helping to get transport to the train station and he just said I find it by myself. However, the other hostel in Luang Prabang was helping to send me to the bus station.

Last minutes booking but really worth it”
We booked this hotel at last minutes..our luck that we had been given room with balcony overlooking stunning mountain cave..centrally located in vang vieng..owner can speak simple language and lack is the wifi only at the lobby..I guess it's the same as other guesthouse nearby

Good location.”
I was expecting a very nice view from my room balcony, but there were other guesthouse which is blocking my nice view. I saw many pictures taken from Grandview Guest from other bloggers and they were very nice. I guess recently other gueshouse was built. Also, I got a hot deal from Agoda, but the room was actually for three people and therefore expensive than the actual price for one bed room on the spot. But overall clean room and convenient location.

Best hotel I have stayed during my vacation”
Though I stayed in various cities and accomodations, Grandview was the best among all of them. It was very clean and the staffes were kind and nice. Bird cage in the lobby was entertaining as well. Some disadvantages would be night noise around the hotel by several party houses, and the wifi which could not be used within the room. Despite its location right nearby the river, there weren't any bugs in the room. If you are one of the bug haters like me, this would be the best choice.

Unhelpful staff”
When I arrived at the Grandview Riverside Hotel, there were bugs in my room and no wifi. Vang Vieng is in the middle of the jungle, so I am not too worried about a few insects. However, when I went to management to ask about the wifi, the staff literally laughed in my face and one person turned away from me. The manager told me I was the only person who has a problem and no one has ever complained about the hotel (reviews here would suggest otherwise). Again, the lack of wifi wasn't a big deal, but their reaction to it was. If I had known the service was so bad, I would have rather have stayed in a hostel, because at least then I would be getting what I paid for.

Not Good because my completed booking was cancelled by their ignorant staff, but finally reimbursed”
I booked the room on the same day for my sister in the afternoon. At 7 PM, my sister checked out and the hotel was fully booked, the hotel staff said their internet access was not working. That's why they sold out the rooms. My sister was asked to pay the fees for agoda or cancellation by our selves. however it was not that easy on the same day that my sister supposed to check in. My sister insisted to get the full refund without penalty since the hotel gave the rooms to the other guests without checking Agoda. However, the day after my sister got the full refund. But it was the bad experience we have got. The hotel should install stable internet access.

grandview guesthouse will be your best choice. you could see an amazing view that river and mountain from your balcony in the morning. the staffs are very kind. but i recommend that you don't need to book the room with incl. breakfast. they offer the breakfast after they buy some sandwich in front of guesthouse...

Extremely poor management, loud, WiFi doesn’t work”
Although a good location and good views, we would strongly recommend against staying here. Not worth the money, spend it elsewhere at a better hotel. 1) there was no staff on site at night, and therefore no regulation of the noise within the hotel. For a town like Vang Vieng that has a lot of partners, this was a problem and we were kept up all night and eventually forfeited our last night and left because it was so rediculous. 2) WiFi did not work in rooms, and barely worked in the lobby. I approached the management several times about this, as I work while traveling and needed WiFi. They made one excuse after another and kept saying they’d fix it but never did. The last time I approached them they were incredibly rude, lied to my face, and then took off on their motorbike in the middle of our conversation. 3) our room was comfortable enough. But when we were checked in they basically just handed us a key and didn’t say a single word.

Love the view and the location, the balcony has no fence between rooms, great for a big group travel to reach each other (cuz we were too cool to knock on the front door) ; easy access to shops and restaurants along nam song; kayaking was only 60k Kip per person (booked and paid through hotel)

Great location view of the Nam Song river + Krasts”
Charming bungalow just next to the river. The view from the balcony and the room of the river with the foot-bridge and the distance mountain is amazing. Hotel owner was friendly and invited me to join him for TV and talk about his family. Location of hotel is great as it is near the shop for tubing. Room is a little small but good toilet. Fairly good standard of cleanliness.

There are better places”
The guesthouse is in a very good location and quiet in the evenings. It is right on the river and offers a beautiful view of the mountains and river, if your room is on the correct side. If not, you get to see the street. The rooms are a nice size and the bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom left much to be desired. Because of the building design, the bathrooms is always damp and thus the walls are covered with mold and mildew. The towels were old, small and threadbare. Breakfast was simply a matter of the owner walking to the front of the guesthouse and buying a scrambled egg and ham baguette from a street vendor. Save your money just buy your own. The guesthouse offers coffee, so the extra cost of breakfast is really a waste. Better, there are restaurants next-door that have a complete menu and serve full English or American breakfast at a reasonable price. As for the staff they were not rude but were not overly friendly. They were polite in a sterile way. Overall not a terrible place. However, this was my second time to stay here and the price has increased while the quality has decreased. There are equally as nice places nearby that cost much less.

Nice location but construction ongoing”
Location is good, quite central in vang vieng. They're building a new hotel/guesthouse in front of the existing one so no views at all and some construction noise during morning and day. Facilities are adequate, you can shower while using the toilet.

Adequate for Vang Vieng”
It is a decent hotel situated right in the middle of Vang Vieng's tubing/party scene. If you get lucky, you can request a riverside view which isn't too bad. The rooms are generally clean, but the hotel itself is somewhat rundown.
