Beautiful, modern hotel in the heart of the city”
We stayed at the Cumberland for three nights as part of a business trip. I brought my wife along so she could do some shopping and she picked the hotel based on the location. Fortunately, everything else about the Cumberland was great too! We love a modern interior design and their lobby set the stage. Quirky projected videos, statues, lighting and furniture give it plenty of interest. The only drawback is the perfume they pump into the lobby that was quite a bit too strong. It reminded us of the Vegas hotels that try to overpower the smoke smell, but there was no smoke here to overpower. The location, right across from Hyde Park and on the Oxford shopping strip was perfect for us. A short walk to the Underground and I could get to any meeting while my wife could shop Oxford street without having to take transit. The concierge was very helpful in guiding us to local restaurants and activities. We would stay here again.
Ideal location”
The Cumberland was a great stay, it's next door to the subway and you're minutes away from most things you may want to see. Across the street is Hyde Park and if you're a morning person, the park makes for a great jog in the morning and since you're Oxford Street itself, you have ample shopping opportunities nearby, it's a lot like being in Union Square in San Francisco. The room size for a double twin was more than ample compared to that of other hotels I've been in New York and Tokyo but most of all, the rooms were comfortable enough that if you wanted to take a break from your vacation, you could settle back and just enjoy the ambience of the room. I have to admit though, the half shower door threw me off, you would imagine it would make a bigger mess but it doesn't. The size of the bathroom catches you off guard how big it is. There are ample charging outlets in the room, just be sure to bring your converter otherwise there's a 110V plug in the bathroom if you're in a pinch and from the US.
Engaging view of the West End”
although i know the west end of london quite well i've never stayed in such a deluxe location as that occupied by the cumberland hotel. i was both surprised and amazed to look out of my window to see marble arch less than 50 metres away and to be looking straight down the length of park lane. i was in london for a conference and was the only one of my colleagues staying in such a prestigious location and paying the lowest price for the privilege! the room was "compact" but more than adequate. decor was slightly dated and i had a bath as well as shower. the room was well sound proofed - essential as oxford street is busy and never sleeps and had all of the usual conveniences. service was good and very polite. my air con was malfunctioning but quickly attended to. my only criticism was that internet access was chargeable throughout the hotel- things like this should be complementary these days. overall a very pleasurable experience and excellent value for money. highly recommended.
Great Location”
We booked into this hotel for its great central location. We had been invited to Buckingham Palace Diamond Jubilee picnic and concert. The Cumberland is also close to Hyde Park and other amenities. Breakfast was not included in the price but for £15.00 per person offered an array of hot and cold buffet with something for everyone. Service was efficient and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back in the future. The foyer has great scultputers and art work and a great place to people watch!
Great location in the West End”
i had no hesitation in selecting the cumberland for the second consecutive year for my stay in london. the location in the west end is perfect; it actually sits on top of the marble arch tube station and you often get a room overlooking hyde park and oxford street - perfect for an early morning walk, shopping or simply gazing at the most attractive part of london. if you love lebanese food, as i do, then it is a quick walk to the lebanese quarter. the rooms are on the "petite" side but well furnished in a contemporary style with a good bed, bathroom (baths or showers on request) and free wi-fi.
EXCELLENT”
Our stay at the Cumberland Hotel is going to be unforgettable thanks to the exceptional service it offers and the astonishing professionalism that the staff displays. We enjoyed an incredibly delicious breakfast constisting of a variety of choices for all the tastes. Our room with a view to Oxford street was neat and clean everyday and we feel the need to say that we were amazed by the kindness and willingness of the staff and especially by Miss Theano Karathanasopoulou, the reception supervisor, who was there for us by the moment we arrived at the hotel, made us feel at ease and she didn't miss a chance to satisfy our needs. It goes without saying that we are looking forward to staying again at the Cumberland Hotel during our next trip to London.

Perfect location and very good service”
Stayed for two nights at The cumberland and really enjoyed this hotel. The staff was very service minded, the location is just perfect for shopping and we loved that it was so close to Hyde park. The room was clean and the design of the bathroom was really nice. Beds were very comfortable. We had to pay extra for breakfast but since it was so good it was definitely worth it. The fitness room have several cardio machines with TV-screens but limited resources for weight lifting (a few machines and dumbbells).
Great Location”
This was my second time I have stayed at The Cumberland. The location is great. I had a short time to spend this time so location was my priority and the Cumberland has that. Oxford street is the next street so there is easy access to shop and then is Hyde Park one minute away to enjoy. I will stay there again, hopefully soon. Hugs from Iceland
Pre Honey-Moon Holiday”
I must say that the hotel service staff were excellent and Wendy t beyond our expectations. The front desk and reception manned by Milda & Niksan were both friendly and thoughtful. Knowing that my partner and I landed early at 6am in London, they expedited our check-in and gave us a Fantasic Room, upon knowing that it’s our pre-Honey Moon Holiday. In the end we didn’t have to wait till 3pm for check-in, which would have been dreadful and awfully tired for us. I must commend them on their thoughtfulness also in giving us a quiet room as I am a light sleeper. In addition, the Cumberland has an ideal location, right next to the Marble Arch Tube station and lots of shops near by. I would highly recommend the Cumberland and it’s staff for thief excellence. Keep up the good work!
Dear Ivan, Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for taking the time to post your feedback. We are glad to have met your expectations and that you had a pleasant time with us! It was our pleasure accommodating you, and we hope you will make The Cumberland Hotel your home away from home whenever your travels bring you to our city. Kind regards, The Cumberland Team
Great hotel, perfectblocation”
This was an upgrade by Agoda from as my original booking for Saba was double booked. I must admit after staying in the Cumberland I'm glad this was the case as The Cumberland is a fantastic hotel. Literally right next to Marble Arch tube station and in the heart of the shopping area this is a fantastic location. Hotel was clean, modern and staff were very friendly, check in/out was very quick. Hotel prices for food/drink were pricey but this is to be expected in London and this standard of hotel.
Great location, good value but no free wifi”
it has been a pleasant stay at the cumberland hotel. it is in a prime location with lots of shops and restaurants around. close to the underground and is convenient to travel to most places we need to cover. given the short stay we had in london, this was a great plus. the check-in and check-out were smooth. the hotel staffs were friendly and happy to accommodate our needs. the concierge was particularly helpful. the gym is a plus. i think the only downside was that there were no free wifi, not even in the lobby. a free wifi was provided at a lot of the hotels i have been staying at in the past few years.
Fantastic Service and spacious rooms!”
We arrived early morning and let the concierge staff store our bags whilst we explored London. Upon returning to the hotle we found our room ready for us and a complementary bottle of wine and cakes to wish us a Happy Anniversary, which was a lovely suprise! Our room was large and comfortable with a great view over Hyde Park, and even though it was facing out on to the main road there was little traffic noise (although we were on the 6th floor!). Overall a fantastic stay made extra special by the great staff, we would not hesitate to recommend the hotel.
wonderful hotel with a great central location”
affordable, large well appointed rooms, interesting lobby art, discount dining coupons provided upon arrival, many affordable dining and a variety of shopping options within easy walking distance, Marble Arch subway steps away, hop-on-hop-off buses available within a block or so, great central access to Hyde Park, the Marble Arch and many other noteworthy historical and cultural sites ... overall a highly recommended hotel and central London location
Modern & Comfortable, Great Location and Value”
i have stayed at the cumberland a number of times and have always been pleased. i like the simple modern decor; the beds with duvets are extremely comfortable and rooms are very well equipped, with excellent tea/ coffee making facilities in-room, ironing board/iron, etc. i typically book a twin room even when traveling alone, just to have a bit more space. i find that the rooms are large for london. the location is extremely convenient, just steps from the marble arch tube station, and of course all the shops on oxford street. i have always been assigned an "inner room" which has no view, but this is a huge advantage, because it means the room is very quiet--no street noise at all. and while i pick a hotel for the guest rooms and not for the lobby, the ultra-modern lobby with space age lighting and amusing sculptures always makes me smile.
beautiful art deco hotel refurbished”
our travel agent recommended the cumberland hotel for the london portion of our honeymoon and we couldn't have been happier, and on check-in we were upgraded to a bigger deluxe room, and it was beautiful. the staff were lovely and helpful throughout our stay. we dined in the 1* michelin restaurant and it was fabulous. the location at the top of oxford street meant that we were minutes from everywhere we wanted to be. we definately recommend this hotel with great rates through agoda.
Excellent hotel in excellent location ”
It was a great stay at The Cumberland Hotel, Marble Arch; its location is really fantastic, the staff were very good ; the beauty of the hotel is that it is on the begging of The Oxford street very near to the Edgward road which are the most popular roads in London; I will stay in the Cumberland hotel again and again; and I do encourage people visiting London to stay in this hotel.
Dear Khalid, Thank you for your online feedback. You have beautifully described our property and most of what we have to offer to all of our guests. We truly thank you for your great recommendation to potential customers about our product and service. We can't wait to have you back to your home away from hoe. Kind regards, The Cumberland Team
Great hotel with a uniquely decorated lobby”
our second stay at the cumberland and, again, were treated to a room upgrade even though the hotel was very busy. staff were wonderful. the bar is known for it's cocktails, but they are a bit pricey. they had only bottled beer, so had to go to a pub around the corner for a pint of real ale. the executive room was big with a mini fridge with some complimentary bottled water. lovely modern decor throughout. great value for money and will return when london beckons in the future.
Great hotel with great location”
it was a great experience to stay at the cumberland hotel. location was excellent, right next to underground station and hyde park. rooms were nice and clean. staff members were nice and helpful. only con i have is it's bit pricey for a business purpose. i would recomment this hotel to my friends, family and coworkers.
4 star hotel, 5 star experience!”
This is indeed a very interesting hotel. Upon arrival, we were not sure as to whether we walked into a hotel reception or into an art gallery. It has a massive reception hall with statues and coloured lights. Bedroom was equally big and well decorated, with a very comfortable bed. Ordered food from room service and it was superb. In terms of location, it couldn't be on a better spot. The hotel is literally above Marble Arch tube station, across the road from Hyde Park and around the corner from Bond / Oxford street. Great location for everything: shopping, nightlife, bars and restaurants, for exercising and relaxation. The only negative(s) is that there's no swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room / sauna or spa. If there was, it would be perfect. But still, it is great value for money.
Tourist-friendly hotel ”
We booked this hotel twice because its location was very convenient for us, it is just beside the Marble Arch Station and it is near the shopping centers at Oxford street. Since we're a family of five, we got one standard double room for our parents and a triple room for my two siblings and I. The size of the rooms were pretty decent if you don't have huge luggages with you. This goes for the bathroom as well. The rooms were simple with a modern design, beds and pillows were comfortable and most importantly, they were kept clean. We availed of their breakfast and they have a variety of food to choose from. I personally love their pork sausage and mushrooms! They also have a vegetarian menu. The men at the concierge were very accommodating. They attended to every need that their guests have. They gladly assisted guests regarding directions, courier service, airport transfers etc. The Cumberland is a very busy hotel with at least 10 people inquiring about something at the concierge but the guys there were patient enough and still all smiles to answer every inquiry. I recommend this hotel for tourists who wish to explore London.
