Really great hotel - but a little bit abroad”
We just needed a hotel for the night in Yangon. But next time I'll definitely book again at the Great Feel Hotel! The money you safe compared to hotels downtown is absolutely worth spending on taxis. This hotel is just perfect! Huge, great, new rooms. The staff is fantastic and super friendly and all in all a great deal! Taxis to downtown or airport will cost you about 3$, so still cheaper than most downtown hotels - and way more comfortable!
Very comfortable, quiet surroundings”
Our last day in Yangon was spent at Great Feel Hotel. Excellent room in quiet surroundings and outstanding service from the staff, makes this an excellent choice 6 km from the bustling down town Yangon. Easy access to airport - only 6 km away. Here you can relax, but need taxi for visits to Yangon`s pleasures and attractions. (4000 Khiat to down town)
Homey little hotel”
We stayed 2 nights at the Great Feel hotel at the beginning of our trip. I loved the fact that it was off the main road so off the traffic which is incredibly dense and noisy (motorcycles and scooters have been banned by the military). The hotel only hosts a dozen of rooms spread out over 2 floors plus the ground floor area which is where we slept (see tip below). The staff was adorable, very friendly and spoke English (well not all of them but we always managed to find a way to understand each other). They even helped us find a place for a massage after our first day of visits in the ex capital and one of the staff members even walked us there; we would have never found the place otherwise (ask them if you'd like to give it a go, 1h30 of traditional burmese massage for MMK7,000 which is c.$7, not for the sensitive ones). We loved the coconut noodle soup for breakfast and were gutted our flight to Heho was so early because we had to give it a miss :( They prepared us sandwiches and bananas though which was nice. All in all we were very pleased: it is clean, cheap, in a quite street, slightly off the beaten tracks, has A/C, and an incredibly charming staff. I strongly recommend it. The only downside is wifi which was really slow but then again that was the case pretty much everywhere. There's a restaurant just up the road called Sun which was good even though at first I didn't like its looks (quite big and looked touristy but we actually were the only foreigners there) and another one called Champions' noodles as you turn right onto the main road (good noodle soup, bring your small dictionary as they didn't speak a word of English). There's also a small mall on that main road with a food section.
Good quiet, basic hotel.”
We had a great time at Great Feel Hotel even though it was some 6km outside of Yangon. Please be aware that a taxi into and back from Yangon centre will take a minimum of 1 hour each way because of the traffic situation. One down side was that everyone but everyone driving seems to be chewing QUID or BETEL nuts and then spitting it out. Look for the red spittal marks down the driver's sides of the vehicle doors. Perhaps they do this to be able to live with the traffic. However, that has nothing to do with this lovely little hotel where nothing was too much trouble for the staff, arranging coach tickets, room service etc.. The breakfast left a little to be desired but I suppose they were not too used to people from the UK just yet. We can only see the service getting better as time goes on.
Amazing staff and very light spacious room”
My room had huge windows on two sides and I still had full privacy. The staff is super service minded without being intrusive. Breakfast was great. The hotel is a little far from the city if you have a lot of scheduled meetings down town , but great for airport transfers (no traffic jam saves you at list half the time in rush hours). There is not a desk in the room, but they have a big space with a huge table suitable for working. Internet is good for Yangon.
I stayed this family run small hotel for two nights. As most of the guests commented, this hotel had very nice hospitality and the stuff always tried their best to help and satisfy the guests. The hotel was less than two year old and the room was clean and nothing could be complained. The location of the hotel was little away from center of Yangon, but it is worth staying this hotel because of their hospitality and cleanness of the room. I enjoyed staying this hotel very much and highly recommened.
Wonderful feel and service”
Possibly the best service of all hotels I’ve visited, anywhere. Ready to serve always, inviting, helpful in gathering travel info, supportive with my needs. And so giving. Had a beautiful New Year’s Eve dinner with the hotel staff as I was traveling alone. And the room of course was really nice. Made up each day, bathroomed cleaned, even a bathtub - took my first bath in six months rather than shower - so nice. The staff at this hotel make a great role model for service, aside from the service it was all done with a warm family-like feel.
Quiet Oasis away from the Chaos”
We really love Great Feel! The staff are fantastic, the rooms are very clean and the breakfast will keep you going all day. We liked the location because it was between the city center and the airport. The food at restaurant nearby was decent but we usually ate in the city center before we returned to the hotel. Staff were very helpful always booking our transport and even helped us to the nearby circle train station.
Had a holiday in Myanmar for several days and this was, by far, the best place we stayed. The staff were super friendly, the rooms were spotless, and the location, down a small side street, was peaceful and quiet. The Junction 8 area with many shopping and restaurant choices is a short drive away. This hotel will most likely be the place we will stay on any and all future trips to Yangon. Fantastic experience!
Great place to stay.”
Very convenient to Inya Lake. The hotel was clean, well set up and the staff very helpful.
This hotel made us feel great!”
We stayed at Great Feel when we arrived in Myanmar and just before we depated Myanmar. It is a very conveinient location to either the center of Yangon or the airport. The staff are amazing and the rooms are spotless and comfortable. They have several choice for breakfast and they were all vey good.
Given that Yangon has some of the most overrated overpriced hotels in Asia , this is a charming small gem. The staff struggle with their English but that is normal for Myanmar....good rooms at a reasonable price.
Best hotel all around in 6 weeks of travel in Myan”
Wonderful. An absolute delight. A pleasure to come back to after a good long day of travel. Didn't know it could be this good in this price range. We've booked all of our remaining days in Yangon here that they had available.
Best boutique hotel in 50 yrs of travel”
Wonderful. After 2 months of travel in Myanmar the Great Feel was in a class by itself for our lodging, and in fact in 40 years of travel all over the world we have never had a better budget lodging experience.
nice to stay aat Great Feel Hotel”
The breakfast is good with the volume as well as the assortment with the local taste. The wifi is o.k., although it is not so fast (compared with other hotel of this class, it is good). The room is well cleaned, however, the road construction work is on behind the hotel, so, it is noisy during working hours. The staff is very courteous and efficient. The location is not good for my business appointments in city center due to the traffic jam at Yangon.
Clean, safe, close to the airport”
This hotel was as expected. Very clean, helpful staff, not exactly fancy but a good place to relax and be comfortable. We appreciated everyone's hospitality and kindness. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a reasonable place to stay and do not want to pay hundreds of dollars for a room. Thank you!
Best value for money I've found in Yangon. Staff go out of their way to help and are super friendly. It's a relaxed place and everything is spotlessly clean. Highly recommended.
Good clean friendly hotel”
My stay was very nice, close to the local shops and eating places which were still of an adequate quality. The staff were polite and efficient, offering some fruit or juice from time to time. The a/c was good and the bed was v comfortable. I recommend this for value for money to any traveller to Yangon.
Great hotel, wonderful staff”
This was a fantastic find for my first, but not last, trip to Yangon. Breakfast is huge and staff couldn't be better. The only drawback for me is how far it is from downtown.
Checked in on New years eve, and was invited to the staff party, The staff were very polite and friendly especially Moe Moe. They made be feel, like one of the family..Excellent!!!
