Cheap place in Ludao”
If you rent a scooter and hang out the whole day, this place is a nice one. Good for spending night kind of place: AC works fine, doesn't have any bad smells, shared bath but not that busy. The host is not paying a lot of attention to guests when he talks to cuz usually busy doing something else. But doesn't seem too impolite, just kinda feels like he doesn't want to improve service. Breakfast vouchers can cover one egg pancake, pretty good quality food.

It was surprised that the host offered free pick up and drop off service, later i found out that every hotel on the Green Island do that too, which is a good point. We have trouble with renting bike from local stores but the host helped us to resolve the problem. They do have free wifi, but only availble on the first floor. The 4g signal on the island is quite unstable so lacking off wifi connection is something you might concern if you wanna stay there. My girl friend complained that the owner sometime ask strange questions, probably due to language barrier as we have to use google translate all the time.

Owner was rude and inhospitable. We didn’t feel welcome and that atmosphere permeated our entire stay. The “blanket” that was left on our bed was paper thin and dirty— it looked like it was for a dog and not a human being. Would not recommend. On a lighter note— to be fair— the AC worked and the room was clean. Take it for face value. If you are an adventurous type that is looking for one night? Sure. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

Staff was busy gaming every time I speak to him, and replied to me in mono-syllables even though I speak Mandarin. I was for wifi, he say "map". What was I supposed to do with that? The place is runned down with stuff all over the place. The pictures of the location is really misleading. The area is really runned down

Awesome host and fun activities”
The B&B makes all the essential arrangements for you: scooter/bike rental, snorkeling/diving equipment rental. The host will provide transport from the ferry terminal on the day you check in and to the terminal when you check out. However, do let him know in advance (via email/phone) your ferry timing. The host is very friendly and knows the island very well. He took us on a free and very informative night tour to see the wildlife (deers and insects) and places of interest on the island. He was our guide for the snorkeling trip and we got to see a lot as he knows the spot very well. The B&B is off the main road and hence the environment is very quiet. The rooms and shared bathroom were clean. The host was also very kind; he allowed us to use the washing machine and sometimes bought drinks for us. Overall, I would recommend the B&B to anybody wishing to get the most out of their stay at Green Island/Lyudao. I would definitely stay here again when I visit Green Island in the future.

At first , I was worried about my trip in Greenisland cuz there are lots of bad comments about this B&B . But after my wonderful 2 nights trip. I found all of comments are incorrect! The host is definitely friendly. Really NICE ！ 1 The Site. The site is very nice in village, it is very easy to 7-11 and family Mart. The island is very small,you can live anywhere you want. 2 The host. The host and his brother are very nice,friendly ,just a little shy, so a lot of comments said they have a poker face .They are very very friendly will help you renting motorcycle ,taking you night touring(finding sika deer , other special insects and the beautiful galaxy),snorkeling and diving. Ps .They took us to some great sceneries only the local people knows. You can talk to them and they can offer all the help you want . Just Talk to them,trust me , you will have a wonderful trip! The brothers are nice guys! 岛上的民宿住宿都很一般 所以我们不挑剔 主要是出来游玩 玩得开心就好啊！老板和弟弟人超级好！！好多评论说他们POKER FACE 导致我们去的时候有点怕怕的 .但其实不是啊！！老板人超级好啊！！真的超级好！！ 你要多和他们聊天啊 ！他会带你们去玩水 还会夜游看星星看银河！弟弟有带我们玩两天 晚上带我们去月出！！还去了好多游客不会去的当地人才知道的地方！景色超级美！！还带我们去跳水！！人生第一次跳水 虽然很怂了 但是超级好玩 真的！ 不要被评论吓到 老板人真的很好 多沟通就好了

Super-friendly staff with nice rooms.”
We entered Green Island with a ferry from Taitung and were picked up by the owner of the B&B with a mini-van. He also asked if we would like to rent a scooter (which I highly recommend because it only costs 300 ntd per day). It was a very friendly man who also returned our luggage to the harbor, the last day of our stay. We stayed for one night in a double bedroom. We had our own tv (which we didn't use), bathroom and lavatory. All was clean and tidy. Our beds were good as well. The breakfast was not what we expected, but all in all ok. He gave us coupons for a breakfast in a nearby restaurant which provided a modest breakfast at best. If you are a big breakfast eater like me, you will probably have to order some additional sandwiches.

I think I had very great and special experience in Greedisland.The host is very hospitable.He is very familiar with everything about Greenisland.He took us around the whole island and told us lots of special animals,plants,scenics in the island.I stongly recommend my friends visit greenisland and live in this hostel.

A great hotel in the Green Island”
The hotel is not in the town area but i feel so comfortable as you can enjoy the peace in night. I had 2 great nights at here and the owner is very helpful, he even spend his time to bring us go out at night to see the animals and explain more about Green Island...Strongly recommend..Anyway, in the island, the best transport is motor..you can enjoy riding around!!

Ok if you have a scooter”
We decided not to rent a scooter upon arriving on Green Island, and the hotel is a 20-30 minute walk from the ferry terminal. (It's only a 10-minute walk from the airport, if you fly in). There aren't any taxis on the island so we stopped by another hotel and asked them to call the B&B and ask them to pick us up. The person who works there picked us up within a few minutes and took us to the guesthouse, which was good because there isn't any signage that would make it clear that it's the place we were looking for. The room was clean, as was the shared bathroom. It seemed like we were the only people staying there, so it was really quiet. There's no internet in the rooms but there's a family room downstairs with fast wi-fi. The guesthouse is a 15-minute walk from the village with all the restaurants and shops, so it's a little inconvenient if you don't have a scooter. The lighthouse is really close and it's a nice walk. You can also walk to a nearby snorkel site. They don't provide breakfast, but they do give you vouchers for 50 Taiwanese dollars ($1.50 USD) to a local restaurant that's just across from the Family Mart. The voucher will almost cover a pancake and a cup of coffee; we thought it was worth using since they have good food. Our only real issue with the guesthouse (aside from the internet) was that the person who works there is really not friendly. There is a language barrier since he doesn't speak any English and we don't speak Chinese (he did occasionally call someone on the phone who could translate). But we have interactions all the time where we can't speak to someone and they're still nice to us. Every time we interacted with him he'd stare at us blankly, and sometimes with an unmistakable tinge of disdain. We felt like we were intruding, even more so since the place is set up like a large house and we seemed to be the only guests. If we go back to Green Island we'll stay somewhere else.

Green Island is great. the hostel is nice and near port. the host is friendly and quite helpful. You can ask questions and seek their advise. Room standard is not bad also. Overall it is worth trying.

This hotel was a great find on the Island! Inexpensive, clean and close proximity to everything. The owner was extremely friendly! He gave us advice on attractions and was super caring when we decided to go on a motor bike ride at night. I would definitely recommend this place to travellers alike. Good surprises !”
The B&B is clean, with large beds and good bathrooms. The breakfast place is not at the B&B, however it's really good and traditionnal ! The staff seemed a little cold at first, but after asking few informations (in chinese), it wasn't anymore. We were driven to see a lot of sika deers at night, and to get some free bikes at the tourism center !

A worst stay yet...”
The ferry trip from Tai Tong to Green Island was a suffering, as the sea was choppy due to the monsoon. When I reached Green Island, I was pale and groggy. Fortunately, arrangement was made with the XD B&B owner to fetch us at the ferry terminal and he helped me to rent a car for travelling round the island. These were the only two things that I can say about the B&B owner. The overall impression that I had on him was poor. He was unfriendly, unapproachable and not responsive to our request. I requested him to make a call to a taxi driver at Tai Tong to fetch us when we return a day before we left. He said there was no need to do so and he could make the call on the day of our departure. He seemed uninterested to help and sure enough on the day of our departure, he did not even offer to call for us. The worst thing that we experienced with this XD B&B was that just before checking out time at 11am, the owner reminded us to leave an hour prior. I've an impression that he wanted us to leave quickly, so that he could do something else. I'll never consider this B&B again.

If you can't speak Chinese Do Not Stay Here!!”
The breakfast is not served at the homestay, you receive a voucher for a restaurant in the main street, the menu is in Chinese only. We only received our vouchers on our first morning and the host was not around any other morning to give them to us. The room was nice and clean with good aircon but the bed was very hard. Bath towels are not provided, a large papertowel is provided instead which is not ideal for a shared bathroom situation. We were not offered any of the things that other reviewers mention, no night tour, no snorkel tour and hiring a moped through the host was not easy. You absolutely must contact the owner before you arrive to advise what boat you are on so that you can be collected. We emailed and got no response and when we rang the number on the Agoda booking they hung up. There are no taxis or buses on Green Island so you need the owner to pick you up. We thankfully received the help of a kind local who rang the host for us after 20 minutes stood around at the pier. To visit Green Island you must be confident riding a scooter as it is the only way to get around, there is apparently a bus but we didn't see it in 4 days. The home stay is about a 15 minute walk from the main town. Our host charged us $500 per day for an electric scooter, he charged the battery for us when we left it on his desk. The battery will last long enough to get you around the island once before needing a recharge, but you can exchange the battery in 7-11 or at the hot spring. I suspect that you get a very different service if you can speak Chinese, but as an English speaker who is very well traveled, trying very hard with Google translate we endured a very uncomfortable and unfriendly stay.

Despite having read a lot of negative reviews of the host, I still took the plunge and gave this place a try. Turned out I wasn't disappointed. He might be considered taciturn but definitely not rude. In fact, he had a sense of humour! As for the homestay, it was homey enough although a little run down. The air-con of our room was definitely not cold enough but we didn't complain. I guess just some routine maintenance would bring it back to life. I certainly liked the quiet location and his outside only cats. Unlike in Lanyu, the "night observation" was led by the host himself enthusiastically free of charge! Notice that free wifi was available on ground floor only. Perhaps the 2nd floor could get it but not on the 3rd that I stayed.
