"wsh is on the north side of washingon sq, in greenwich village, between west and east villages - and just north of soho all easy walking distance - so it has a great location. the staff are all very welcoming and helpful. the hotel has a bar and downstairs a restaurant (although apart from breakfast we didn't eat in - so i can't comment on the food) i travelled with my teenage daughter. we had a twin room with a city view and it suited our needs very well. perhaps not the largest room ever - but not small either. it was very clean. free internet meant i could keep up with work easily. all in all a very good stay - better than other nyc hotels i have stayed in before. i will go back there."

"this place defines a rare gem. Perfect location for NY's west village, the nicest host one would ever hope to encounter, beautifully appointed room, strong wifi and ample tv choices, walking distance to everything and for NY standards, very affordable. This is definitely my new go to hotel in NY! Be warned like most charming four story buildings of this era, there is no elevator for the upper floors so ask for a lower room if you have an issue with stairs. Otherwise - just stay here! "

"This is a great hotel at a unique location, perched above the High Line in NYC. They do not like any kind of late check-out, and only granted a 1 pm check-out (you can get later but pay a hefty 150 USD fee). Despite confirming twice with the staff at the desk (very friendly and helpful), we still got called claiming we did not check out on time, and why was out stuff still in the room ... . A disappointing end for an otherwise great stay."
