Stayed in the private room and loved it :D”

I was here with 3 of my friends. We booked the private room that had 4 beds in a bunk style, private toilet and shower. Nice cosy little room. Place has 2 common spaces and the one at the top floor has a kettle, microwave and fridge. My only complain is that the ladders for the bunk beds are really small so it can get annoying. About a 10min walk to Akihabara Station which is awesome. I had to use google maps to get to the station initially but after the 3rd day I could easily walk back without assistance as the route was pretty simple. It is nice and quiet but isn't too far from the main area of Akihabara. It is less crowded than Shinjuku so that's definitely a plus for me. If you are on a budget I do feel this is the best place you can get around Tokyo area. Staff speaks English :D I would like to emphasize that I am speaking for the private room only. I'm not really sure how it's like in the shared rooms.

      High C/P”

I stayed in Grids Akihabara Hostel for twelve days consecutively. The place is clean and tidy. It is very convenient to go everywhere from hostel which is very near to three subway line. They are Asakusa line, Shinjuku line and Hibiya line respectively. But the private space is small. Nevertheless, I am more than satisified with what they provide.

      A Most Inviting Experience”

      Hospitality, Design and Hosts.

We discovered Grids late in our stay in Japan and planed on staying one night. We stayed over a week and wanted to stay forever. The design is excellent from the private rooms to the sleeping pods, to the communal open air lounge area and reception. All of the staff are exceptionally helpful and genuine in their kindness, especially Yohei, who made our stay. The mix of room types results in an array of travellers crossing paths, combined with the outlook of everyone who works there, it creates a warm and inviting atmosphere that we will miss. The kitchen offers up ever changing daily choices of lunch and dinner which were delicious and reasonable in price and free top ups of coffee and tea set us on our way each morning. We left in a taxi in the rain and the whole staff stood outside and waved us goodbye. This new hotel on the scene will soon become a Tokyo mainstay. Stay there if you get the chance. Adam & Lucia.

TOP place for those traveling on a budget.”

I was a bit scared at first for going to capsule style place. I'm much of a hotel person but traveling solo this time plus having to stay longer than usual made me give it a try considering the HUGE price difference between this and taking a single hotel room. The place is VERY clean, you don´t feel too confined in bed, services are good, you can bring your own food and eat in the last floor, there is laundry (dryers take forever, like 3 times what they say but still ok), there are plugs bye the bed and a light, they give you a clean towel EVERY DAY!, wifi works, staff really is helpfull. Can get a bit cold in winter so bring a decent thick pajama. The lockers are SMALL and weak, not real lockers, so if you travel with a BIG bag like you come from Europe, won´t fit, so like may you leave it in the alley, with a lock. The quality of sleep is ok, you'll hear ppl snooze if they do and vice versa. It's about 10 min from Akihabara Station from where you take the Yamanote line and you can see like EVERYTHING without changing line, so location is very convinient. (you've to switch to yurikamone 4 odaiba, yet the best connection for that, too). As said the place by default is perfectly priced plus I got it on discount so I HAD to give it a try. After 6 nights I booked another week.... May be a bit too long for such a place but I used just for going sleep and stay the rest of the day out this place saved my trip, basically. Ideal for going solo or with some mates, totaly recommend.

Comfortable stay in good location. ”

The hostel is big. Located a 10min walk from Akihabara station. They are nice staff. Had morning coffees in the Streamer cafe at the reception. I had a corner all to myself as i booked the ‘single room’ type. Had space for my 24” luggage to pack. Right next to bed is the Common Area for guests to pack their luggages so maybe not the perfect spot. But love the lighting and space of my ‘room’. Clean place, with a japanese bath! I use that instead of showers. Perfect for a tired body! Did not expect that in a hostel. A pleasant surprise. Will definitely come again!

      Amazing Hostel”

      Clean, Comfortable & Accessible

A fantastic hostel to stay at as it is very close to Akihabara Station (less than 10 minutes) & Asakusabashi Station (about 5 minutes). It is VERY clean, particularly the bathroom! The staff are very friendly, helpful and are very fluent in english. The pods were also very comfortable, there are a few power outlets inside the pod and a light. If you close the blinds it is very private and blocks out a lot of outside light. If you are a solo female traveller book a pod on the female only floor (floor 5). Overall this was a fantastic hostel and I would not hesitate to stay here again!

      Good spot”

If you're in Tokyo, it's a little out of the way in Akihabara, but it is good for it's price as it is a capsule hotel. They have showers, but no baths like in First Cabin. Either way, you can get some rest, but not much room to do anything else. As long as you spend your time to just sleep it is a great place to crash for the night. And the reception is great, although I got in late, so the receptionist at the time was half a sleep trying to help me check in.

Other than common area at 7th floor quite small but you can sit at lobby lounge, i found Grid is so recommended 👍 i spent 3D 2N. There is Family Mart near by and a delicious ramen restaurant around 15 minutes walking, i found it using Google the price is 1100 yen.. If you only buy Tokyo Metro Pass you should walk lil more to entrace Asakusabashi Station; the first entrace is for JR pass. I found so many restaurants around the station but haven't had time to try it.

The staff is super nice! There is a small coffee-shop at the 24h reception and the overall atmosphere is very pleasant. We came there earlier and we could leave our luggage without any issue. The room is very comfortable and you have your private toilet which is cool! The bathrooms are close and clean. The location is great, it's a 10 minute walk from akihabara station, and a number of cool bars are around. Again the staff is very nice and helpful. Would come back for a stay in akihabara!

      Pretty nice accomodation”

With low price, good hygiene, nice and english available staffs but location is little tricky. There are akihabara station and asakusabashi station near the hotel. And both station takes about 10~15 mins by walk. And the hotel's facility for food is all concentrated on 1st floor. Someone who doesn't like to meet others during their rest might not like this kind of facility.

The location is good if are interested in Akihabara. I found everything about the hostel to be comfortable and clean. The staff is great with very good English. It is not a super social hostel (at least when I was there) but I feel this is pretty standard for the Japanese pod-style hostels.

      Decent stay”

      Price, facilities, amenities

Fantastic! Located just a few minutes walk away from a big station such as Akihabara, and subway station Iwamotocho, which is a great travel point across Tokyo. Many shopping and dining places around. Decent price considering their location, excellent staff performance, they speak fluent English.

      First Solo Adventure”

Went to Tokyo, Japan from January 17 to January 20 and stayed here. Got a solo room with curtains as covers. The staff were really great and I enjoyed my stay. The facilities were good and had my room cleaned everyday. Towels, shampoo, body soap and hair conditioner provided but you may bring your own if you wish. You may opt not to have your room cleaned if you tell them not to do so. Their check in time is 4pm but you may leave your luggage with them just in case you arrived early. Near Metro and JR stations as well. I will recommend this place to my family and friends should they decide to visit Tokyo anytime soon. I will definitely come back!

Best place to stay in Akihabara ”

The hotel is located near different subway lines so its really easy to get where you want with less transfers, also really close a convenience store and a 24/7 restaurant, the capsule part is so good if you will only stay for the sleeping time, the staff is also amazing and always helped me and my friend. If I go back to Akihabara I will 100% sure stay there again.

      Perfect ”

The hostel is very clean, quiet. The staffs are nice and helpful. The room is comfortable with toilet inside. Location is good, 800m from akihabara station and 300m from asakusabashi station, suitable for walking by foot.

      Affordable and comfortable stay ”

In Japanese fashion, hostel was very clean. Affordable stay 10mins walk from Akihabara. Simple facilities. Had to pay 100yen for towels. The shared areas were small and simple. But otherwise it was really lovely place.

For capsule hotel fans, this place is for you”

If you don’t mind not chit chatting with others alot, need quiete place and not claustrophobic, please stay here. This place is clean and the staff is helpful. The common room is warm and nice to chill. Quite a walk to Akihabara but it is fine. Remember not to make alot of noise especially when you are packing your bags in the dorm. But if you are with your friends, better find a place where you can chit chat all night long after your fun trip in Japan.

      Strategic location, pantry is small”

The best thing about this hostel is where it is located, Family Mart is 100 metres away, Subway Metro Akihabara Station is 500 metres away. Pods are too small for a big size guest. Pantry is small and has limited space.

      Good place”

      Location, cleanness, staff

It located near by Akihabara station, but using Askusabashi station or Bakurocho station is also fine. Convenient store Family Mart is located near by. Each bed has lamp and three outlet to charge own devices. All staffs are very kind, and all equipments are clean. I'd prefer to visit there next time. (Not recommended for those who are not familiar with japanese style capsule bed.)
