Nine Plus Loft
Sukhumvit,Bangkok - View on map
"This is one of my favorite hotels in Bangkok, mostly because of its location. It is just few hundred meters walk to the nearest BTS station. Single women may find the dark alley a little sketchy, but as someone who has been in Bangkok for an extended period of time, I haven't ever felt unsafe as a male. It would be nice if someone installed some street lights along the access alley. In addition to the great location, this is a very small hotel, with more of a "homestay" feel. The floors and stairs are wooden, and the rooms are small but nicely renovated with modern finishes. Perhaps more important to many, the nightly rate (about $22 US) is among the lowest for any location along Sukhumvit. Staff are very welcoming and they work hard to ensure that every guest is happy. Thanks Nine Plus Loft.. I'm really very grateful and hope to see you again!"

"Really liked this place, we stayed here for 3 nights when we arrived in Bangkok and 1 night before we left, obviously its not luxury for the price, rooms are basic but clean and beds are comfortable. Staff we're friendly and helpful. Wifi worked but you had to continually keep signing in as it would constantly kick you off. Its a 5/10min walk to food, bars & amenities and about 15 mins walk to Khao San Road and probably the quietest you will get in this part of town also only a 20 min walk to The Grand Palace. The pool was nice and clean, breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we had in Thailand! The breakfast terrace looks out onto the river which is very nice and right next to the water taxi docks. Try to request a room in the middle of the hotel so your not looking out on the road, its a bit noisy but didn't really stop us sleeping. When leaving walk 1 min down the road and a meter taxi will pick you up in no time, the taxi drivers waiting outside that reception will direct you to will try to offer you inflated fixed prices and refuse meter."

Bangkok Tree House
South Thonburi,Bangkok - View on map
"I reserved two nights in Bangkok tree house with my boyfriend. This place is more modern than my expectation. The room is well-facilitated, with wifi, PC and air-con. The 2-storey house is absolutely spacious. It's very relaxing to stay at the roof top to enjoy sunset and stars in the evening since the weather becomes cooler. It's a bit scary to use the in-house staircase which is high and narrow! However, the interior deco is stunning that you can feel the nature even you are actually at the city of Bangkok. I would only suggest them to improve is the cleanliness of bedsheet and pillow case where I found some obvious dirt on them. The all-day dinning restaurant is another relaxing place where you can sit, chat and read for 24 hours. Ice-cream and chilled water are provided without charge as a refreshment all the day. The service is exceptional. After our reservation, we received a detailed email telling us the location, transporation and contact method which was very useful. When we arrived the pier, we were impressed that they sent a staff to pick us up and escorted us to the tree house. When we checked out, Joey, who is a nice owner, also sent a staff to assist us to leave and take a taxi. Actually, during the whole stay, the service there is outstanding that cannot be better!"

BBHouse Khlongtan
Sukhumvit,Bangkok - View on map
"We were a little hesitant picking this place at first (I had read the reviews that said the staff didn't speak great English, the building shook, and the wifi was bad) BUT was very pleasantly surprised. The staff spoke English just fine! The wifi worked fantastic! The building does shake on occasion and there is some street noise, but no place is perfect and it honestly didn't bother us too much. The room is a great price, it's brand new and clean, the perfect size, and the bed was amazingly comfortable. We only stayed one night, but we could've easily stayed more. Excellent value! It's super close to the sky train, making it super easy to go to the airport or anywhere else in Bangkok. It's close to a lot of local food places, which we preferred over the more expensive touristy spots. We would love to stay here again."

New Siam II Guest House
Khaosan,Bangkok - View on map
"Its the second time we stayed here. we think it is a good value for the money, espacially compare to other guest houses in this area in a bit cheaper price, after staying in two other next-door guest houses. The location is close enough to rambutri street for you to walk there but far enough so it would be quiet. Tge resturant in the first floor is really nice for breakfast. The room is pretty big and nice furnitured. The pool is nice as well for having a beer or a shake in a hot afternoon. The only thing should be improved is the toilet and bethroom, becouse it's small and not convinyet."

Drop Inn Bangkok
Sukhumvit,Bangkok - View on map
"i prefere small, boutique style hotels anytime. not fancy, quite basic and "homey". the room was supplied with a flatscreen tv, cnn and a movie channel. aircon worked perfectly, the bed could have been a trifle softer as always in thailand. staff were friendly and polite. breakfast very basic, but sufficient for my needs. there are so many restaurants and eating facilities around soi 20, so there is no need to eat in the hotel. situated in a small sideroad, very peaceful and quiet, even though you are smack in the middle of bangkok."

Kritthai Residence
Siam,Bangkok - View on map
"The stay at kritthai was fabulous! Even though its 3 star hotel, we feel it surpasses our expectations. The luxury triple room we had booked was very clean and neat. It was not very spacious but it's sufficient for my family of 4. 1 King size bed and 1 single bed. Breakfast was simple but good. The staff are very friendly and kind. Only grouse was the WiFi. We had to reset the WiFi password several times and feedbacked to office. Please do something about this. The hotel is just a the door step of BTS - National Stadium. Do note that the entrance to lobby is through 2 flights of steps. They have an elevator but its through their carpark. Its a small hotel so they only have 9 levels. "

"I want to say that our stay at Arun was a realy great experience! We had book a nice room but when we arrived the staff said that we could be upgraded to their new built stand alone apartment over the river! :) Damn, that was a suprise! Just wonderful and the room/apartment was so amazing! I just want to say to the staff of Arun Residence: Big Thanx! You guys made our first days in Thailand the best possible! I gonna tell all my friends that are travelling to Bangkok to visit your place and I hope we see each other next time we come! The restaurant and the food was also over the top! We ended the second night at your bar on the top and the view over Wat run and the river did a great job to give us a truly nice evening! Thanx again! See you next time! Big hug from Jocke and Tess from Sweden!"

A House
Thonburi,Bangkok - View on map
"the surroundings of the hotel are realistic lower middle class, practically untouched by tourism. there is some life in the Soi during the day, with one small shop, and one soup stall or so. but at night all is extremely quiet. on the main road there is 7/11 and more street-food during the day, again untouched by tourism. bts is 20 bath with motorbike away, so is easy to reach downtown. taxi to silom/sathorn should be about 100 bath. For a One-star-hotel (!) the reception area appears almost as a lobby, with a fountain and living fish. the interior of the rooms remains solid and appealing. all rooms have balcony; some rooms look out backyards which grants them less light. the bathrooms en suite are real restrooms, with nice interior as well. it should be quite a good plae for families indeed."
