Best hotels & accommodations in Ho Chi Minh City

Chill Box Saigon (Google maps knows it as “Chillbox Saigon” if you need to find it that way when you arrive) was everything I could have asked for and more. Due to a minor overbooking issue I was able to experience what it was like to stay in 3 different rooms, including one night by myself in the six person hostel room. All of the rooms were extremely clean, have gre...

Tan Hoang Long Hotel is a lovely, clean haven in the middle of the chaos that is Ho Chi Minh City. The staff were lovely, and there are many shops and western restaurants nearby if that is the kind of food you wish to eat; however there are also Vietnamese food outlets nearby. The hotel is within walking distance to many of the major sights in District 1. The room is a...

that's my first time to travel to Vietnam. I have no idea of evening. I bookwed this hotel for the first2 night. Be honest after that 2 night I don't want to move anymore. Because the staff is the best, they try to help me for any problems I had. They drive to the goldshop to exchange the money for couple time. Just want me to got the highest rant. And the last night i...

Bui Vien is an absolutely noisy place where most activities are at night. The hotel is in front of a bar plays very loud music and lasts until morning. We were lucky to stayed in the back room and not the ones with balcony and faces the bar. Overall it’s good if you want to experience the business of the city. And there are a lots of good food and cafe around

The location of hotel was just near the Bentan Market which is quite convenience to go somewhere in Ho Chi Minh city. All of facilities was good enough to take a rest with the price of hotel. Overall, it is valuable hotel to stay with this price and location.

It's just close to Benh Thanh Market and Bus interchange, which basically you can take bus from Airport which cost only 5000 VND, convenient an d super saver! The drawback is no convenient store around and somehow you have to walk a distance to get one, especially if you are getting tired. The room is good, but light is dim. The rest are good. Breakfast is good for wha...

This is the second visit to Ho Chi Minh city and we stayed here last time as it is fantastic value for money. When you are in your room it is so quiet you would not think you were in the heart of District 1. The family are very obliging and friendly, rooms clean and because it is located at the end of a lane it is also very quiet. It is a great location so when you ste...

My stay at Mai Guest House was nothing short of excellent. To get to the guesthouse from Pham Ngu Lao Street, you have to turn in to this alley at "241", and then you walk down the alley till you find "41". It wasn't as difficult as I thought to find as long as you know how the street address works. That bring said, it is very conveniently located to Bui Vien, which ha...

i've booked this thanh guesthouse hotel for 1 night only as my travel mate decided to stay for only 2 days at Ho Chi Minh City. however, later on, we've decided to stay for one night more so we've surveyed another hotels or guesthouses around the backpackers area to compare the prices. since the price for thanh guesthouse for one more night is the cheapest, so we've de...

the hotel was easy to find, in the center of the tourist district, with clean, quiet rooms (ginormous beds) and a helpful staff. we had to get up and leave at 4:30am and the hotel arranged everything for us. hoping to stay on our return to ho chi Minh!

The homestay doesn't quite look as nice as in the photos. When I first arrived at the place I was looking for a fancy exterior like the photo (which I now recognize as the Fine Arts Museum just down the block). In reality the entrance was found at the end of an alley and it was locked with a sliding metal cage. I had no idea when I would arrive so the family was not e...

This is a very nice place like a small guesthouse/ hotel. On the quiet side street in a non-touristy part of Ho Chi Minh City just across the river to all the major sites dollar 50 grab ride anywhere you want to go. Very walkable to lots of local eateries and street food stalls. The staff is amazingly helpful. The rooms are clean and stylish architecturally significan...

This mini hotel's price here is cheaper more than other 3-5 stars hotels at the central area, if you book the room pay by cash is 15$US , booked from pagoda was 13$US dollars. You can also book the 3 stars hotels room prices from 30$US, but room clean is enough, save the money to buy food and beers. I can say it's the backpacker's area, room is clean, comfortable, frie...

I chose to book this hotel a month before my visit to Ho Chi Minh city, and I am so glad I did! The location is perfect and literally just a minute or two walk from where all the buses stop in the center of the city. I arrived from Cambodia and purchased an open return ticket with Sorya at a discounted price, and it was such an easy and cheap way to travel. The staff a...

The place is a bit difficult to find, is in a alley, but that way is more quiet Is a lovely guest house with friendly staff and a really pretty cat. The place is clean and the beds are really comfortable. I will stay again when I go back to Ho Chi Minh City.

We stayed here for five days and we loved it. It’s very clean, quiet and the rooms are big enough for what you need. They contain everything you need in there for your convenience. The owner Winston is very friendly and will help you with anything you want to know about Ho Chi Min. It’s in District 7, but it’s only 20 minutes to Distract 1 by bus which costs 5000 dong...

This rating is relative to similar budget hotels I have used in Vietnam. This is a very nice place with a quiet location close to the airport. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. As a budget hotel in Ho Chi Minh City it is a great choice, and I have stayed several times, with more to come.

Room was very clean, bathroom was nice. One light in my room was not working though. Front desk staff was very friendly and accomodated to all my requests. Worth every dollar! Only downside is that the hotel is a little hard to locate, especially if it is your first time in Vietnam.

Good: Close to packagers street with a lot of resto around, with a cute cat wants to be petted. Offering taxi to airport services of 180,000vnd. Room rate is attractive. Consideration: As a guesthouse owned and operated by family, I do believe the woman is always trying best to facilitate our needs just that somehow I did not feel she is too friendly tho while ...

I stayed a total of 4 nights. The staff were always willing to help. The tour to the mekong delta trip, that I booked through the hotel was great. The rooms were good for the price and the air con great. They have a tv with English movie channels if you want to chill too, in the room. The location is right in the backpacker area, 1 minute walk from 'beer street'. Whe...

Love this place so much! Unlike Pham Ngu Lao street, this location is quiet and it feels more 'local' as there are less foreigners there. A very cozy place with friendly and helpful worker. Nice location, reachable to tourist spots with motorbike.Cleanliness is very good, will definitely come again!

The hotel is an old hotel actually, riding on RedDoorz branding. Interior looked repainted, can be refurbish for more modern look. Also it looked like a family run business. My room was on 1st floor, back of building. Pros: 2 rooms per floor has lift in front (directly opposite) of a bank, hence security a plus bathroom quite big Satellite TV with few choices of e...

A bit out of the way but a beautiful place to be. Theres a pond and Tom arranged a bike for me. He then gave me a lift to the bus stop after my stay was complete. Rooms are beautiful, especially considering the price. Not much arpund there but hire a bike and the roads arent too busy. A great intro to vietnam . Thanks for the stay Tom it was brilliant!

This is a complete rip off. The pictures are really misleading. The walls of our room had huge patches of mold and water stains, the curtains were also stained and in shreds. It smelled like we would get sick if we stayed in the room for too long, so windows had to be open at all times. I don't know if the guest house was completely booked and we got the worst room in ...

3 people. 4D3N. The staffs were extremely helpful and easygoing. They have this sweet smile on their face all the time. Even though I was told to change from a triple room to two double-bed rooms 2 days before I departed to HCMC, I was satisfied with the arrangment made by Richard (the owner) as he provided an alternative to accommodate our needs. Plus, the receptionis...

in the dorms there is no room for anything! literally 35cm from the bed to the wall! apart from that, it's clean and there are nice balconies in the dorms. It is not as instagrammable as you could think seing the pics. Not easy to mingle, as bunkbeds are capsules and you don't have contact with other guests.

I have been staying at places with similar prices in Saigon but this is the worst one. The room was dark and unclean. Bathroom was filled with cockroaches. I was so disgusted I left after stepping into the room for 5 mins. The owner didn't give me any refund and he was very rude. "I don't care if it's unclean. If you don't like it go away".

The place is a bit difficult to find, is in a alley, but that way is more quiet Is a lovely guest house with friendly staff and a really pretty cat. The place is clean and the beds are really comfortable. I will stay again when I go back to Ho Chi Minh City.

I came to the beauty guesthouse from Hanoi, where I was lucky enough to stay in an up scale hotel called the Hanoi pearl. I was meeting friends in Ho Chi Minh and I was happy to stay anywhere. The rooms in the beauty guesthouse were very clean and comfortable. The bathroom facilities were good too. But the staff here made this guesthouse the best place I have stayed in...

Had a great few nights here! Its a really chilled place. The owner Kd is great company and cooks the best indian food. The inc breakfast was so delicious. Indian flat bread with a vegetable omlette inside. Really felt at home here and slept so well. Its a really peaceful house and area. Its located in a really safe and modern expat area. Its a little out of the way bu...

We've never done a review for anywhere before but for Sam's we really feel people should know how lovely his place is. It's a quiet homestay about a 20 minute ride from the city or a couple of buses which is super easy to do and more of an experience. We didn't come to Vietnam to stay in the middle of Ho Chi Minh where it's a little too crazy and truly not much of a cu...

This hostel has a really great location for tourists. It seems about 2 minutes walking to the city center and it is also located on the best local food street of the city. The room is cool because it is on 12th floor and the bed is very comfortable too. The hostel designs beds in such a smart way, it has 2 layers, one is hard, one is soft which can be upturned ...

The rooms were well laid out and the beds were very comfy and private. Like most hostels in Ho Chi Minh space is a bit limited but it didn't feel cramped or stuffy and there was room to put your luggage under your bed and even space to hang your clothes. There is a nice common room where you can make a cup of tea and sit on the balcony or watch tv. Going through Agod...

The hotel is located in an alley between Pham Ngu Lao and Bui Vien streets. Therefore the location is great if you want to be close to the touristic area and Ben Than market. It has an elevator and the rooms are cleaned daily. The room had a nice bathroom and and all the furniture and beds were nice as well. Also the minibar is very cheap so it saves you the trouble o...

Mai Vy Guest House (Ho Chi Minh City/Saigon, Vietnam) Overall, not bad. But there are only two major problems with this establishment. The first is lack of Air Port Transfer. Through Agoda, they listed Airport Transfer as one of their services which were non-existent. A friend helped me from the airport to the Guest House (as I only asked for airport transfer from ...

the guesthouse is located in the alley surrounded with many other guesthouses . The room is tidy and clean , housekeeping everyday , but not so comfortable mattress and pillow .the staff is friendly and helpful but cant speak good English . would consider to stay in a hotel instead of guesthouse as the hotel room price is quite cheap too .

Really a good deal everytime choosing Reddoorz. Location is a hidden gem in the fancy area. Close to main shopping mall and Korean area. Room is small but cozy and clean, acceptable for this high standard area neighbour. Hope to see more of Reddoorz in Vietnam

Traveler impressions of Ho Chi Minh City
HCMC is a busy, crowded, polluted city. There is not that much that redeems the city other than the Vietnam War exhibits and historical aspect.
Most major attractions can be covered in a day. However if you want to explore in detail, then you will need many days.
This is the cleanest city I have been in in years! Shopping for souvenirs here is the best prices by far.
A very lively city but everything is expensive around ho chi minh city. I like ho chi minh city a lot but the locals here charge us foreigner more than what they sold to their own kind.
Great City, amiable people, good scenary, the airport is very small and crowded, some of the customs officials are corrupt
ho chi minh is one of the best district after hanoi in vietnam. some of the people are very welcoming but some are not.
The city is crazy busy, and the air quality is poor. So get a face mask to help yourself. Don't be afraid of walking/riding around town.
Stayed in District 1 in a fantastic location from here went on to the water park to entertain a 5 year old who absolutely loved the place and didn't want to leave.
HCMC is one of the best cities i have visited in the world. I have been here many times with and without my family and it never disapoints me.
Ho Chi Minh City is in perpetual motion. The ever-present flow of motorbikes on all the roads all the time is like blood in the veins pumping round without cease.
First time but definitely not my last. What a great place! Really enjoyed to the food here, friendly people and the shopping.
Ho Chi Minh city is developing fast but it still has some communist charm. We surprisedly enjoyed our time in this city, walking around and visiting the plazas, Notre Dame, Ben Thanh market and walking along the smelly Saigon River.
Lots of people, lots of bike, interesting how the find their way in their mess by bikes overall nice city if you understand were you are
11 million people-4 million motor bikes.Crossing the road is daunting-cross with a local for reassurance.
Be aware of being charged an unfair amount just for the fact of begin foreigner. Still a lot of places where you will pay exactly what a rich local will pay but in many cases they will try hard to extract as much as they can from you.
Everything is cheap in Ho Chi Minh City for tourists coming from countries with strong currencies, it makes everything valuable.
Finely tuned chaos is the best way of describing HCMC. For an incite into real life here, walk the back streets of district 1.
Take only the 2 branded taxis, the rest will take you for a good ride and frisk you off, speak to any Vietnamese and you will hear that everyone has encountered crimes or criminals.
I found Independence Palace - especially the presidential war room down in the basement bunker fascinating.
Despite the quantity of motorbikes, is well organized within the population. We can survive easily with this amazing traffic.
It is a very boring place. All historical sites can be seen in one day and there is nothing more to do.
Ho Chi Minh City is fast becoming a vibrant metropolis with up-and-coming modern infrastructure like the rail transport system that is being constructed.
HCM is transitioning fast to a modern city. Do come early before all the charm is gone. The Times Square is a wonderful place to hangout with a large area for pedestrians to hangout surrounded by 2 busy roads.
A laidback city. Cheap buys around the markets. But felt unsafe. Plenty of roadside snatch theft happening in broad daylight.
prices are not expensive here. You can pamper yourself with massage, spa. spend time in travelling and know vietnamese war history.
Relatively safe but exercise caution. Not expensive but a bit touristy. Lots of things to do and many districts.
Rollicking city that still retains all the character of Saigon (which is what most of the locals call it).
Rollicking town - very vibrant nightlife. Locals friendly, but with surprisingly aggressive capitalist instincts for a communist country.
Not receommend for the old people or tourist with small children, the walkway along the shop have uneven surface, hardly to push the wheelchair or pushchair.
Very busy city with huge population. Several shopping areas. Communication is a challenge as most locals speak little English.
