Best hotels & accommodations in Nepal

We went for a 5 day trip to the mesmerizing Nepal. Booked the hotel on our way back to our home country, just the day before our flight. We got a good deal from agoda for a Deluxe bed room. The bed was a bit bigger compare to the size of the room. The bathroom had nice configuration. 24 hrs hot water supply. It had a tiny balcony also, only one person could barely stan...

Since 1999 I have stayed at many small hotels in Kathmandu (I do research on bird migration each October-Nov-Dec) - mostly all in the $10-$25/day USD. Hotel Backyard is at the top of the list because it gets so many things done well such as: (a) internet works fast, even when the hotel is completely full; (b) hot water is really hot (but make sure to take your shower i...

We had stayed at the Kathmandu Guest House on a previous visit and I would recommend the Potala Guest House over that one. The staff was a lot more helpful and friendly. The room was large and there was an outside central area where one could have a drink or something to eat. We will definitely stay at this guest house on future trips to Nepal.

One of the best during my trip to Nepal. The food is amazing! friendly staff (one even offered to take me on a tour around the vicinity the day after my arrival). Owners were very willing to talk and offer recommendations. Probably the best momos in town too! I would definitely come back if I'm ever in Bhaktapur!

I stayed in 4 hotels while traveling in Nepal. This was by far the best value for the money, best wifi, nicest staff, cleanest. It was the only place I stayed that provided toilet paper, water, and cleaned the room each day. Sounds small but hard to find in Nepal. Modern and chic room.

I arrived late night in Kathmandu. I told the hotel that this is my first time in Nepal and if they could provide me a airport service. Govinda and the other one are patiently waiting for us (another guest) in the airport as our flight is delayed. He also accompanied me to walked around Thamel to find a money changer as I have to change money. Even the duty manager hel...

I really like this hotel design , the room , the shoping space and the cleanliness. Bring such a peace and calm once coming to this place , but no tv. Alright pls abandon to have tv just rest and read the books that they give us to read. Such a nice breakfast too! This hotel are so much incredible to me.

For e very first time visiting Nepal, in state of being worried staying alone, e staffs will really give u e sense of security. For e airport pick-up, to ur stay in their hotel, till e day u leave, everything R all well taken care of. I feel tt it's a excellent gd choice for budget/solo traveler (female traveler specially). 1. All the staff & manager are very welcoming and helpful. 2. Room is very clean and spacious. 3. Located in a very strategic place. It's not in the middle of Thamel, hence quiet & calm, yet it takes only 3 minutes of walk to reach the heart of Thamel. 4. Breakfast buffet has a good spread and very tasty. We loved our short stay at this hotel. We wish we could stay th...

All the stafs are very helpful. I never suffer the electricity problem during my stay even the problem occurs in Nepal frequently. This hotel has good back up facilities which operates all aircondition and telephone and lights. Breakfast seems sound in the restaurants. The view from the top is excellent. I have enjoyed lot. Hope to see you again kotee home hotel.

I got upgraded with Shakya when I arrived late at nite . I booked it two hours prior my arrival , the owner was kind enough to arrange everything : pick up - food for me . I arrived like 12 at nite . The room is extremely clean , well located in patan , Patan touristic spots = 12 mins walk . But it's still very peaceful ! Bfast was good ! I was pleased !! The sta...

Wonderful lodge high above Lake Fewa, outside Pokhara, with terrific views of the Annapurna range and the Lake from our own window. Yes, it's a bit isolated from Pokhara, but we loved the peaceful environment, a short walk from the Peace Pagoda. We took a longer walk west across the hills, past villages and fields, to a dramatic view tower run by a small village (its n...

We loved our 2 nights here in early December. We arrived in the dark but a hotel member came out to meet our taxi at the edge of town and accompanied us in the car to the hotel which was very helpful. It's located just off Durbar Square so in a great position for seeing everything but quiet enough on the evening. Both days we got up early to enjoy the amazing views fro...

Rarely did I get in a hotel such a friendly nice welcome. Chefs house is not only well kept, the chef personally is also looking for an amiable watchful service. In addition, he is an excellent cook experienced in traditional Nepalese, Asian and European kitchen that he can combine in a creative way. I had a very pleasant stay there for some days. To recommend as a pla...

We booked our room at hotel Tropicana the day we reached pokhara as we weren’t happy with the location of the booking we had made. We proceeded to the hotel at about 4.30pm at which time there was no one at the reception. I called the hotel number given on agoda and the desk phone rang to which we heard a rude “who’s it” from one of the rooms on the ground floor. The o...

I stayed 6 nights here, do to some work I had in Patan. After a long day of work it was a pleasure to come back to the hotel, where I would enjoy a hot shower in a clean bathroom. Allthough Nepal has power cuts, I had light and electricity at all times. Due to the few rooms (i think 5?) it is very personal. The staff is very helpful with any questions. I was even acco...

Hotel Aster Nepal is definitely one of the best hotels I have stayed in Kathmandu. The location, friendliness and attentiveness of the staff, the luxury elements are just perfect. Every little detail is thought of. Fabulous small hotel in the centre of Thamel and close to all amenities and transport. It is very elegant and comfortable. Rooms are well appointed and the...

Among the five hotels I've experienced in Nepal, Hotel Bright Star was one of my two favorites. The staff was genuinely kind, and restaurants and stores they recommended also had very good value for money. The hotel also had clean and dry beds, and a good supply of hot water without rust. I'd come back again.

All the staff were polite, helpful and also friendly. They welcomed me with big smiles all the time and cared about me to make sure if I am enjoying my stay. There is a lovely cafe on the roof top. It has great view including snow capped mountains, lit up monky temple and so on. And it's surrounded with green plants and flowers, so that I could have peaceful moment in ...

this hotel faces a beautiful traditional square, just a minute walk from street markets and temples and other sites. the area itself is where artists gather and there are ample street arts around, and there will only be more. the building is old and historical, refurbished nicely and with some modernity added. the staff are great and helpful, it is a family and friends...

The Hotel is very clean and well maintained, the fooding and lodging is very good. Main problem is Electricity which is a major problem in Nepal. The Manager was very helpful, when ever any one goes to chitwan always inform the Hotel before one day so as to book the tour on your behalf. The hotel staff was very helpful took us to a ride for conoe trip which is a good e...

The hotel was great for the price. I can't begin to explain how helpful the staff was. They helped us book plane tickets to Lukla and were able to get us bus tickets to Pokhara. The staff was always available to answer any questions. The hotel cafe was nice and had good food for a great price. I would happily stay here again without any hesitation.

First and foremost, after a long road journey I appreciated the hot shower that greeted me. I’ve been traveling around Nepal for about a week and this has to be one of the hottest showers I’ve had. The whole place was clean and the bed was firm but comfy. Most of all, it was absolutely quiet at night. There were the occasional dog barking, but compared to Thamel, this ...

Superb Location. Clean with good showers (and hot water!). Staff are very shy/not communicative (perhaps because of poor English?), was difficult to get any information from them (transport, tours, treks, places to eat etc. They had no clue). We arrived at 9pm on the first night and asked if there were places to eat to which they responded that everything was closed an...

My friends and i stayed in the hotel, two days before and two days after our trek. We booked a room for 3, which come with a nice attached bathroom. We didnt know that our booking comes with free breakfast, until the owner asked us, why arent we having our breakfast? And we are glad he asked! Breakfast was nice with free flow of coffee/ milk tea. Hotel staff are friend...

I found Shree Tibet on-line and after a very simple e-mail confirmation I was picked up at the airport by Shree's driver, Surendra, at midnight, and taken to Shree Tibet. I was greeted by prayer wheels in the entrance and the warmest staff who had a room waiting. I walked into my large room with double bed and ensuite. WOW. Was it 4 star no, but was it instantly home,...

The hotel is centrally located close to all the necessary amenities like many restaurants, walking distance to Katmandu Durbar Sq, the staff and the owner Mr Hritik is an honest and friendly person and very often he walks with us to the sightseeing place to show us where it is. Highly recommended. Best Value for our money. You will not regret.

our room (no.5) was very nice and clean also very close to lake. good value for money really. room is really insect proof however this all goes in vain because there is a huge gap between door and floor that is enough for a fat rat to pass through. mosquitoes are frequent visitors and also roaches from outside of there is any left over food. overall its a really pleasa...

I really love the location of this hotel. It is not on the main road of Pokhara , Fewa Lake.... it's about 5 minutes walk to the main road where all the cafe's and shops are located at . This makes the hotel a really peaceful place and not noisy at all. Perfect if you are trying to chill in Pokhara! It is also near the organic cafe which serves really good food , near ...

I stayed at Hotel Himalaya Yoga in Thamel, Kathmandu for more than a week. Initially, I only booked for 2 nights. I came here because of a positive review from a Kathmandu Guide book. I extended my stay after the first 2 nights. I've been staying in this hotel for a week already. Will stay for a few more days before I head to India. These are the good things abou...

Before 3years ago i'm already visited in this place. At that time all rooms are full. And i was really satisfied this guesthouse. So i reservation again this place. Also this house families are kind and helpful. So i really satisfied again. If I visit again nepal I will come again here.

We were not so sure how it's gonna be after the earthquake, but Thamel area is totally back to normal just without tourists. Our Stay in Hotel Norling has been awesome! Airport pick up was smooth and we were welcomed by staffs. Our room is very clean and the shower here are the best during our 3 months stay in India/Nepal. Nepal has electricity cut out but hotel see...

I met the manager my first night in Nepal, he was extremely welcoming and professional, and I immediately switched guesthouse a to langsisha. It's location is superb - just a few minutes walk to durbar square, twenty minute from swayambunath, and a skip away from thamel. Super nice terrace to relax on and get away from the chaos of the street. I became good friends wit...

For a cheap stop in Kathmandu this place is perfect. The beds are not as comfy as they look in the photos haha but not uncomfortable either. The shower was a mission to understand, but at least it ran hot for a shower! Staff are very helpful. Also right opposite Spize, a great restaurant with cheap delicious food and amazing service, and in the centre of Thames, gr...

We booked this hotel in advance and the hotel picked us up from the airport(for free). We had some nice days at the hotel and travelled further trough nepal. After a few weeks we had to go back to kathmandu so booked this hotel again. Because i got sick, it wasnt possible to be on time in kathmandu, so we came there a few days later. It was no problem at all, however t...

Last minute stumbled upon Yado240 guesthouse after finished trekking n turned out to be the best stay in Kathmandu. The owners are the cutest and sweetest couple i ever met, their hospitality shines through any expectation I had in mind. Cosy firm bed (great for my aching body), best breakfast even for vegetarian like me, great location and helpful services throughout ...

Hard to find hotels, occasional rude staff, owner changing the price on me after I had paid through Agoda were all part of an adventure. But the real kicker is that the hotel is let out to per hour basis late at night, and with all the action next door, banging doors and people screaming, I couldn’t get sleep on two days of the weekend consequently. Two hours each ni...

Highly reccomend Puskar Guesthouse! It's a great place to stay because of the clean, nice rooms and the family who runs this place. They do everything for you to make your stay perfect. We got sick during our stay (because of the food elsewhere) and the family dit everything to make us feel comfy.

First of all I'd like to highlight the extraordinary friendly and helpful hotel staff (great thanks to Humraj!). I always felt like part of the family. We had very good talks about Nepal, it's history, culture, politics. Although I was in Nepal a couple of times before, I got many very good advice for my current trekking, all kind of support in organizing transportatio...

We stayed here twice for two nights. The Guest House lies on a quiet spot in Pokhara near the shops. The owner (Ram) took very good care of us. He arranged a very good guide for tracking, borrowed us some walking sticks and took care of our laundry. Furthermore the ambiance in the Guest House was very good, there were nice people to hang out with and we had a great par...

Everything was awesome, especially the breakfast. Just a few minutes walk from central Thamel. Bed was clean and the patio is really nice. Only drawback was the lack of hot water, but that seems to do with Nepal not the hotel. I would highly advise to stay here

We stay at Mount Paradise for one night. The room is basic but definitely worth the money: very clean, with hot shower available 24 hours. The hotel owner answered our questions very patiently and made you feel at home. The vegetarian food is very good and is charged at reasonable price. The hotel is about 15 minutes' drive to the View Tower and 1 hour's drive to the I...

This is not a bad hotel, pretty basic with shared bathrooms. The best thing is probably the central location, it's just by Yak Restaurant. The staff are all fairly young but when they understand what you want from them they're pretty eager to help, the owner was particularly helpful actually. One thing I would say is don't stay here if you are scared of dogs, they have...

They upgraded me to the lakeview room upon my request even the low room rate I paid, but there aint any other guests else. The room was big, a bit noisy as facing the main road, towel was old and with mold on it, the small Window in bathroom with no glass, water came in when heavily rain. The balcony was full of bird poos, looked like noone ever clean it.Reception did...

Had an amazing experience while staying here. Great food at their restaurant/cafe, live music on Friday’s night, farmers market on Saturday’s morning, great coffee and atmosphere, comfy bed and very lovely rooms. Didn’t want to leave. Best place to stay after all your trekking and activities finished.
