The staff (a girl from Scotland was very friendly and very helpful providing information and directions. The heater broke down at 11pm and the daughter of the owners came down with one of her own heaters to replace the malfunction unit. The breakfast was simple but most hotels/motels in New Zealand do not provide breakfast.

stayed in deluxe king room. a big clean room. service is great as well. upon arrival, we were approached on places that can be visited, places to eat, etc... second day of stay, we did not need the room to be cleaned. however, new set of towels are automatically given to us without having to request. basement parking is available. access to room from basement is ju...

We are travelling for 30 days across New Zealand and staying in different Holiday parks, bed and breakfast and so on. This was the perfect stop to relax, eat, enjoy and get charged up for more adventure. Very friendly owner that gave good tips where to go. Would recommend for everyone!

The only downside to this b&b is it's up a steep hill from town but taxis are pretty cheap from downtown - we walked, even upon returning from the 5 day trek at Milford Track, carrying our stuff. We immediately relaxed with friends on the patio with a fabulous view of town and the lake. At 5:30 we were treated to wine and beer and appetizers. Followed by more appetizer...

Of special note: the Fiordland NP Lodge, in Te Anau Downs, is the first lodging place on the road out of Milford Sound. It is lakeside (spectacular location!) about 25 km before Te Anau town and, according to my investigation, its self-catering units are considerably cheaper than similar offers in Te Anau. The lodge has been under new ownership since mid 2017 and manag...

They provided us the best accommodation service so far in New Zealand and will definitely recommend this place to anyone who is planning to go to Franz Josef. I will surely stay here again if I get to visit Franz Josef again! ;) Thank u again for the best offer and hospitality.

The house located near the church. There are 3 bedrooms, the mattress in the upstair room can’t use. The house is clean, it has a balcony you can see star from there. It has wifi but it’s very weak. I would recommend if you are looking for a place that close to the church so that you can go out at night and take some picture of the church with milky way.

Lovely hosts, couldn't have been more welcoming. They seemed genuinely interested in what you were up to and happily offered advice about the best places to visit, sights to see, routes to take and places to eat. Also as a nice surprise - breakfast was fully included. Home-made exquisite continental breakfast and cooked meal. Welcome drinks and cookies were also offe...

We could only stay one night which was the only negative about the experience. I wish we could have stayed for a week. Everything was great and we will definitely stay there again. The staff was awesome and very accommodating to our international flight the next day and helping us to have a comfortable transition to the end of our 16 day trip. Truly an awesome expe...

It was our best stay in NZ in all 22 days of our travel. The couple who owned the place was among the best innkeepers in NZ. We appreciated their hospitality and the fantastic breakfast every morning before starting our days of adventure. I hope Janice and Lindsey will continue to do well in the future endeavours and we wish them the best of luck. Do not forget ethel (...

My stay at Ponsonby was incredible. This was the first time I've ever been in Auckland and I wanted a place I could easily locate and have city transport nearby. I wanted a quiet place to complete my studies as well as have restaurants and stores nearby because I was not planning on cooking. The Manor accomplished all this and more. I was very lucky. I had booked ...

We arrived after 22 hours of travelling, were greated very friendly and give advice how to spend our time in Wellington after a short rest. We didn't need a car, only 15 minutes walk to the centre of town. As on every Thursday, the museum has long opening hours, we enjoyed that. After we came back, we slept like babies in the relaxed and quiet atmosphere and were gree...

Typically, we stay at 4-5 star, large chain resorts but we were tremendously pleased with the comfort and charm of of Tekapo Heights. Sam was very polite, thoughtful, and made good recommendations. Having come from a disappointing and expensive hotel the night before in another NZ city, the attention to detail in our room was very much appreciated. Everything ran s...

staying at the okiwa bay lodge was a highlight of our 3-week trip to new zealand and australia. watching the sun rise over queen charlotte sound from our room was unforgettable. susie and martin were perfect hosts and we enjoyed all the time we spent relaxing on their deck, eating excellent meals they prepared, and driving with them up and down the windy road from pict...

They have most of room can stay up to 4 or 5 people. The bath room and toile are shared for the whole floor of 10 rooms. You need to use before crowd time. The best thing is the location, workable distance to Roy bay of lake Wanaka. Price is higher than other city.

As we were travelling round the south island, we booked to stay in a variety of different paces. Spa B&B was the best place we stayed in. It exceeded expectations, and this was mostly because of the excellent host Josef for whom nothing was too much. He answered all our questions, went the extra mile with advice, he even turned on the jacuzzi so we could enjoy it und...

We came here in late August 2016 for skiing trip to treble cone and Cardrona. Does this B&B a hotel islocated within five minutes drive from the want to cut town so it's quite convenient if you want to go for grocery shopping or a go to a restaurant in town, provided you have a car. The rooms are clean and spacious. The view from the room is awesome, facing toward the ...

My wife and I really enjoyed our time at the Shakespeare B&B. Liz and Nathan were our host and they really made you feel welcomed!! Our room was spotless and we enjoyed relaxing out in the conservatory. They offered a great breakfast each morning. We would highly recommend staying at this B&B.

Ron and Lesley have been absolutely wonderful, they definitely made us very warm upon our arrival. Of all other accomodation we stayed in, Ron and Lesley’s definitely left us with the most memorable view and experience staying in a BnB. Karanda BnB is definitely the best place to stay for a couple and even a family. I surely feel like home. Looking forward to stay a...

I love this place!! Best hostel I've found in all of nz. The reception is so friendly and helpful. Free yummy homebread for breakfast and pasta for dinner! Very comfortable bed! The patio is awesome and great hangout area! Clean! Close enough to everything! Stayed an extra night because I liked it so much!!

The cheerful greeting from Alistair set the tone for a great stay. Rooms clean and comfortable. Loved the fresh milk offered for the room to add to tea coffee supplies etc already provided in room Wi-Fi works well Pool is large and well maintained although it was too cool for our group to enjoy Several options suggested for local dining .we chose Indian spice and re...

Its a wonderful experience stay there in De Lavender, compare to the high price of other hotels in Queenstown, I will definitely choose this one again. Its just 2-3mins walk to the bus stop as I didn't hire a car. The most impressive thing is the amazing million dollars lake view, from anywhere in the house--spacious Living area, awesome kitchen, lovely bedroom and ...

We booked late & also arrived late at the property. Greg greeted us & were pleased to notice he was also was happy to see our 1 yr old son. Our previous experience staying at B&Bs / motels were mixed.. even though we added child on the reservation.. :/ They even dropped some toys over for him to play with in the morning. We really appreciated this kind gesture. The ...

I booked a 3 bedroom cottage. 2 bedrooms were upstairs but there were no toilets upstairs. Not convenient for me as I was travelling with my in laws. Also, shower place leaked as the shower doors cannot close properly. Environment is cosy and nice though!

The new owners, Kedy and Alex, were so happy to greet us and tried extremely hard to please us, and they did just that. Our room was booked last minute and the owner told us it was a warm room, but that was the hottest room in the house due to its location. The fan helped a lot. The breakfast was great. Hot scrambled or fried eggs, bacon, ham, sausages, cereal, yogurt...

The design, ranging from bedding to decoration, can show the dedication and the passion of the host! Kevin and Jenny are helpful and nice to serve the guests! We feel comfortable and relaxing both in the room and the common area! The view is superb and the breakfast provides us a big feast! We feel so grateful to have chosen this place during our stay! It adds to ...

Me and my partner stayed over for one night. We much preferred this venue than staying in a hotel/motel or hostel because of the homely nature of the place. Anna and Diane were both very down to earth and willing to help us at any cost. The ambience, facilities, venue, location and lodging was all absolutely brilliant and we would recommend this to any individual, co...

This is a B&B in the classic style. I stayed in the master bedroom, which was spacious and comfortable. The full English breakfast was suitably lavish and there is a lounge that I did not use, but seemed nice. It is perhaps a bit far to walk to the main attractions, but as long as you have a car it is a great place to stay.

Anita was just the loveliest host imaginable! She even spontaneously invited us for a delicious homemade dinner, since she saw us browing our phones looking for dinner opportunities. The day we were there, she even prepared free breakfast for everyone! I mean WHO DOES THAT?! She is very knowledgeable and gave us tons of inside tips of what to do and see around the area...

Bruce is helpful. First night and First time in New Zealand. The place is well kept and everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Really made the start of our honeymoon on a good Vibe. Will definitely stay here again when i come over New Zealand for our anniversary.

Lovely place next to the river. Beautiful grounds with tables to sit outside to eat if we wanted to. Hammocks to lie in and enjoy the garden. Very clean kitchen. Hosts were welcoming and helpful. A fabulous restaurant right next door. I would definitely go back there.

Stayed at Arcadia Lodge for two night for Mount Taranaki hike on Day 1. This stay is great. We stayed in the en-suite, room abit small but managable and ok. The wifi is strong, carpark are free and available, the staff are very friendly and helpful. We walk around New Plymount and the stay is only a few min walk. Best value for money stay in New Zealand.

We found Snow Denn by accident due to last minute cancellation of another booking. But we called this blessed in disguise! Arrived at night and George welcomed us very friendly. He told us every facilities we can use. The room is clean. Tomorrow morning when we were about to check out suddenly George gave us complimentary breakfast at Arabica, the place we planned to ...

Waikonini Homestead is a lovely place to stay for a few days, even the drive to there brings you through a quiet area, with forest, deer and sheep and then suddenly you arrive within a place with an amazing house and a nice garden. The owner Mary who is running the business provides with great hospitality a warm home feeling during our stay, explains the history of the...

Perfect B&B. Al and Rosie are very hospitable and friendly. Felt like home. I got a piece of homemade carrot pie when I arrived. Room is very clean and cosy. Flowers in de room. Breakfast is the best I have had in NZ. Homemade bread, yoghurt, muesli, fresh fruit etc. It was a pity I could only stay one night.

We booked the cheapest room, if we have to go again i will book for a bigger room with a view of nelson, this house was build in 1876 so its really really old, but the owners maintain the design of it, old phones , a big classy bathtub , and the breakfast were awesome you've got a big kitchen with plenty stuff to cook nd eat, it was great .

The Nunnery is not actually a hotel. It is a delightful well furnished former nunnery with a very pleasant atmosphere in beautiful spacious surroundings. There are all the usual cooking facilities but we chose to sample Te Aroha's interesting cafes and restaurants for breakfast lunch and dinner. Plenty of advice available as to the best venues. Our bedroom was spacious...

Miki and Yan were absolutely wonderful. Miki helped arrange pickup from airport, finding directions to town, and transport to airport early next morning, even lending some cash to pay for the bus fare as I only had cards. Bathrooms were clean and dry. The house is very cozy and nicely decorated. Environment is quiet, perfect for resting up. Bedroom was cozy and spaciou...

Loved our stay here. The house is so well designed. Immaculate and super clean. Location is very convenient. The parking space for our van was the only issue we had other than that it's was a wonderful stay. Micheal was a very friendly host. I would definitely be back. Loved those bickies in the jar 😉

I am a group of 4 people’s from Malaysia, we stayed there for a night during our nz south journey for 13days. We are really satisfied with everything in the house. I had a really wonderful time staying at this B&B! The bed was so comfortable, there was good breakfast (Sausages, eggs, cereals), and you can have all the coffee, & tea all you want all day long! The wifi was also fast, and worked. The bathroom was sharing, but it still felt like your own bathroom as you could just lock the door and it felt like yours. Not to mentio...

We had such a great stay in Poplar Creek B&B. Aside from the welcoming ambience, Julz and her kids greeted us and asked for anything we need. Julz also responded so quickly on some of my urgent concerns/requests. Speaking of the suite, it has a homey feeling. They provide breakfast supplies.😊😊 Cozy beds and blankets, with toys for my son to keeps him busy. After a ...

Super friendly of the guest house owner, Ginny. We book for a triple stand room (lower price). Due to the low season of our visit, Ginny upgrade us to Deluxe room which attached with bathroom. the reception is very kind and room is clean. also this motel has a swimming pool, trempolin(i don' t know the right spelling), a lemon tree and orage tree. it's so amazing! the most important thing for me is electric hot matte. i'm Korean and in my country every room must be kept warmly even thought in winter. so i felt everywhere i visited in New Zealand is very col...

the bathroom has a bathtub, this is so comfortable (there's also shower) but there is only one bathroom. Staff was friendly as well as dog and cat. I had best view of morning scene around this hotel. Location was not far from Waitomo glowworm cave.

Great little B&B located about 1km from Whitianga centre and 150m from beach. Everything is spotlessly clean and the well setup. The room has a nice en-suite bathroom and built in wardrobe. There is a communal area for B&B guests with lounge with skyTV and small book swap library, dining area and kitchenette. Tea, coffee, biscuits, bread, milk, juice etc are all provi...

This is the best I have stayed in among all other New Zealand lodges and hotels, even compared to Auckland's hotel. Classic design with very clean and comfortable room (I took the room with ensuite bathroom), my fiancee and myself thoroughly enjoyed this stay. There are 5 very friendly sheep which you can actually feed, as well as a very modern and amazing spa in the g...

Last minute booking due to flight cancellation. We reached there at around 930 pm and Peggy welcomed us. We stay in the master bedroom which have bathroom and changing room. The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable. The view from the room is superb. Next day Peggy prepared decent breakfast for us and sent us to the airport. Thank you Peggy.

The Gables is very centrally located, close to the waters and the main shopping district, with comfortable and homey space (we stayed at the cottages). The host, Warren is fantastic, helpful and very kind. They have also just started a wonderful hop on hop off bus tour among the marlborough vineyards which is the best way to visit the NZ wineries. Finally, they surpris...

Driving around the South Island Kiakoura was a must do. With limited properties avalaible i was able to book The Hamptons last minute. The alpacas here are super cute and come in every colour! They are super gentle creatures. Our host Lorna took great care of us, introduced us to all the farm animals and made breakfast for us. I love the cute interior and cozy environment and like how we are the only ones living here (apart from the hosts) without other customers.

Private room in new home with great view of the ocean. Close to Shell beach. Less than a 10 minute drive to food and shopping. Host was very warm an accommodating. Bed was comfortable and shower amenities were great. Quiet neighborhood but it is in the flight path for the airport. Didn't notice the flights after 10 pm or before 7 am. Check in and out process was very...

Great service, beautiful room and lodging. We really enjoyed our stay and truly felt like we exerienced New Zealand. There is so much to do in the area and the Ferry is a great location to access it all and every morning Glenys was so helpful in booking the many activities we did each day.

We had a most comfortable and surprising 3 days, the owners were so friendly and welcoming. The rooms are excellent in size and decor and the additional recreation facilities were more than expected. We have paid a great deal more for a Hotel stay that was nothing in comparison to this establishment. We would highly recommend this place to anyone. My name us Roy Mackin ...

Very nice and cosy apartment. Only problem is that the address is wrongly indicated via the Agoda website and as a result we had to spend a bit of time looking around. Perfect and unblocked view of the sea. Will definitely want to stay @ this property again :)

We had a great stay at Cambria House. Karel was very helpful and provided advice once we had booked, as well as during our stay. The cooked breakfast was great, and we loved the luxurious room. This was definitely one of the accommodation highlights of our trip to the NZ South Island and we would love to return one day! Thank you very much Karel and David!

The Manse has a great location in the vineyards of Hawkes Bay. We had a wonderful stay here I could not fault ANYTHING ! The rooms are very comfortable with luxurious amenities. This short stay was truly delightful. Jo and Peter were superb hosts, taking care of every detail. this is the best choice i did for South Island trip! Sue and Robbin are really nice. We do like the garden, and the room. The breakfast was most from the garden, really amazing! We chose Takatu Lodge for the last night of our trip to New Zealand and couldn't have been more delighted. The Lodge exudes a feeling of luxury yet has a very relaxed atmosphere. The food was excellent as was the service we received - we really wished that we didn't have to leave.

Finding this B&B in a quiet town was like finding treasure. Twizel is a great midway stop between Christchurch and Queenstown and staying in a beautiful place like Heartland Lodge made a one-night stopover feel like a one-week relaxing holiday. The rooms are big, modern, comfortable, with huge gorgeous bathrooms and spectular views to the mountains. The house and groun...

We stayed for only one night but it was a little piece of paradise. We had a room with our own little terrasse overlooking the amazing lake view. The room was very comfortable. This was a life changing experience. The lodge is spacious and the views are incredible...I could have sat on the balcony all day and not got tired of the view. The isolation is just incredible yet the service and friendliness of the couple was second to none. If we visit New Zealand again we will be returning and we would recommend it to everyone! This house is located in a quiet residential area. It is very comfortable, spacious and meeting the highest standards, being built only a few years ago. Breakfast (hot and cold) was prepared individually and served by the lovely hosts in the first floor. From there, you have a wonderful panoramic view over the lake. The bedroom was on the ground floor and had access to...

This is what I always thought a B & B should be. This retired couple doesn't need the income, they simply love to meet people and socialize if the client wants. If you've been to Tuscany, you would love the whole neighbourhood, every house is brick and terra cotta, various palms and flowers, all manicured. I couldn't believe the facilities, we arrived on a hot muggy af...

A personal, quaint, delightful stay! Our hosts were wonderful, charming and entertaining. We enjoyed immensely our stay. Not only did we have the most comfortable accommodations but also were given the delightful experience of feeding their sheep. It was the highlight of our stay in New Zealand. J & E

The basement room is at the back of the property does provide privacy, however, I could hear all the noises from any movement upstairs. The room is full of personal items and things that I had to remove the cushions to sit down and there is no table surface to put my personal bags on. It will be a good idea to simplify the room. The spa pool and the light were swit...

the owner was very nice when i arrived and set me up - the room was nice and clean - and the internet was fast and without the usual password/10 min crap you get everywhere else in New Zealand! so that was a big plus. the organic breakfast was just delicious and great! location is good for a short walk into the main shopping and restaurant area of Nelson.
