A lovely hotel, great location, nice rooms, friendly helpful staff (especially Ayanda on reception), great views of the stunning Amphitheatre. The free wifi is good too. But a couple of complaints: 1)Paying R110 for a breakfast omelette and R170 for a pasta dinner is just not on. I understand the concept behind a buffet, but there should be an alternative for the not-...

The Blackheath Lodge was a great place to stay in a quite location, taxis are cheap so it's easy to get around. With so few rooms you get great personalised service, the staff were outstanding, especially Michelle who arranged for all our day tours during our stay. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to others who like to stay somewhere with charac...

Our room was on the pool deck and had a beautiful view overlooking the ocean. We found it very quiet and the staff were very helpful. Breakfast had many selections of fruit and breads as well the chef would prepare eggs to your likening. Each day there was a breakfast special. Lunch was available for a charge however we were always out and did not eat there. As is ...

Helpful staff and quick service for check-in and check-out. Very helpful with transport to and from airport. Only 10 min drive from airport. A place I will use again if I go through Johannesburg and will recommend it to friends. It is a kind and friendly picture of the country of South Africa!

Can I say fabulous again...this was by far the best hotel that I have been too and I stay at five star hotels...but the service and grounds were awesome. I think there are 10 rooms so very intimate. The room(suite?)I stayed in had a private outdoor space that included shower, hot tub, lounge area and table and chars that we had breakfast the next morning. The room h...

Our stay was great. You have to pay for parking but thats with most hotels around and witin city. The staff was very friendly and hospitable. The wifi is very fast and reliable although you must have a local south african number to send code to get through to internet. This does not go well with international guest who have no access to south african number . The hotel ...

The hotel was one of many that my wife and I stayed in during a three week visit to South Africa and is was exceptional. The room, breakfast, swimming and public areas were excellent. The only criticism (but I knew this before I booked)was that it is some 2.5miles from Franschhoek. However it did provide a shuttles into town three times a day. I will stay here agin...

The lodge is very confortable and clean. The rooms are spacious, good bed, good shower/bath. The Games are amazing, Trackers and Rangers incredible. We saw the Big 5 doing 2 games. The Staff is incredible, everybody very happy, friendly and doing the best for you.

Probably the loveliest guest house we stayed at during our visit to South Africa. Peter and Bradley were amazing hosts and went out of their way to be helpful and ensure we enjoyed our short visit. Wish we could have stayed longer, we didn't want to leave, it was so peaceful and the garden and pool were fantastic. Peter suggested a lovely winery for dinner which we ...

We were a couple from China on holiday in Cape Town. Our experiences of staying at 3 Camps Bay were superb. Marcell the property manager took great care of explaining to us the nearby sights, the great restaurants, and the different amenities that the hotel offers. The hotel is meticulously kept and all the staff showed proud and enthusiasm in serving the guests. Every...

The accommodation was first class, spacious, clean and very comfortable. The staff friendly and helpful. The game drivers friendly and informative. Everything is very well organised. Because the lodge is in an open space all sorts of animals can wander through, therefore, in the evening when it is dark, you must be escorted to and from your lodge. The food was exce...

-Staff is very helpful and friendly. They help tirelessly with a smile. - Don't go looking for the Kruger experience! There's limited animals. You will probably find them at the same spot :) -They will try their best to create a fair experience for you. -You will also be well fed :) -The package is exceptional.

Overall we were very impressed with this property. We checked in late and we were upgraded as the property was not very busy on the night. :) This was a lovely gesture. Our room was large and well appointed. Dressing gowns awaited us. All the facilities one could think of were available! The dinner was excellent. Really enjoyed my camembert starter. The manageress ...

Upon our arrive staff provided wrong information on availability of restaurant - that was why we stayed there. Bad start. Room was OK but heater didn't work right. Just about everything was just a bit off. For the price point expected much, much better. I would give property low four stars at best. Exception to the above - The Tasting Room was a fabulous experie...

Had my best stays @ 52 De Wet Boutique Hotel. Nothing short of a 5 star standard. The supporting staff are accommodating and put in the extra mile to make my proposal trip memorable. Special thanks to Marnie for the roses and room decoration on my special day :)

We stayed twice at Dunkley House after we arrived in Cape Town and before leaving. We went out to take the Garden Route in between. The staff were great. Very helpful and always smiling. They also gave us a better room than what we got from Agoda, which was a welcome surprise. We even asked if we can use the same room during our second trip and they kindly said yes. ...

Staff were incredibly professional, lovely, helpful and warm. Food was the best we had tried so far on our South African travels. Location is absolutely beautiful, with views of mountains, vineyards and the water/lake (especially the dining area). I can see why many people have their wedding there. I find it difficult writing reviews as I don’t want to seem in-genuine,...

Simply wonderful! We enjoyed every second of it. You have to visit this hotel to experience the beauty of the place, the great hospitality and the best cooking in South Africa. The game drive to the Addo Elephant Park was very interesting thanks to our guide who really had great knowledge of plants and animals.

We only stayed for one night but wish we had booked for many more! We had thought about having dinner in Franschhoek as we had read about the number of great restaurants but are very glad that we ended up returning for a fantastic dinner at the hotel with a 5* MCC sparkling to start the evening off right! After dinner we relaxed on the back porch of our room and watc...

The spa was excellent. He rooms were large, with a comfortable king bed and an amazing shower and bath combo. The rooms and hotel were kept clean throughout ur stay. The area felt very safe to walk around at all times of the day and night. (Pleased to see only a few electric/barbed fences in this area). Unfortunately the spas location leaves it quite a distance from an...

I think this is a great hotel. It has a central location, just under 10min walk to Park station, there are lots of places to eat, many shops etc. It is clean, the breakfasts are amazing and the staff friendly and helpful. The location in Braamfontein is very good and there is a Red Bus stop directly outside the hotel. I would stay there again.

I have been in the hospitality industry for almost 20 years. In the last 5 of these years my family and I have traveled to many lodges, hotels, resorts, spa's and back packers enjoying life, well trying to anyways. To often, actually almost 90% of the time we are disappointed. Being Lilizela award runner ups and winners my wife and I pride ourselves on service and exp...

I really felt that this was our best stay in South Africa. We loved everybit of it. Game drive : Our guide Elode was super informative and good to speak with. We were as close as 1-2 metres from the animals and she really made sure we had a great time. Food : The buffet spread was amazing and we just could not stop eating. Being a vegetarian, I got such delicious fo...

We arrived in a rental car and thought perhaps a four wheel drive would have been a better option. Having got over the drive in we were presented with a secluded complex of small lodges which gave us a real feel for being away from it all. The staff were all lovely and welcoming. We went on 2 safaris and enjoyed both immensely. We didn’t drive our car until we left. S...

My boyfriend and I just spent two nights at Tambuti Lodge last week. I've been on two safaris previously in Sabi Sands, and Tambuti Lodge (though being far less expensive than Sabi Sands) exceeded every expectation of what a South African safari could be!! From the incredible service to the fabulous meals (including a private dinner beautifully served in our room) to...

Lovely friendly and welcoming hosts and bright, cheerful home. If you're single or a young couple looking for somewhere to 'crash' for the night this is your place. I arrived with children in tow and tbh did not feel quite at home in the surroundings due to this BUT no fault of the hosts who were very accommodating.

Beautiful beach house. Very clean and comfortable - across from a secluded beach. Owners Lyle and Linnea and little Khaya were wonderful. We arrived very late at night and someone was there to welcome us. Super super place to visit. Will certainly be back.

Clean rooms, linen. Good bathrooms. Communication not good. Expensive to get to and from the bazbus stop. Hasn't got that "vibe" that many 100's of hostels I've stayed in has when you know youve picked the right one. Maybe its a combination of new owners and winter months. But not for me.

The room was nice and had a sea view. We had access to the kitchen and a living room to hang out and watch tv. It was located in a residential area far from restaurants and commercial stores. It's a destination for surfers but not convenient for the average traveler.

Good option near the airport. Very nice owners. Safe place with closed territory. Be aware that it is not backpackers place - check out is strictly at 9am, and check in is not available before 2pm. So, no couch crush after early departure. Also only first 50 mb of internet is free.

First I booked a self -catering but received a normal room & had to ask for what I had booked - stated it was fault of Agoda. Next the shower exploded - this was fixed by owner upon reporting. Then had 2 nights of no sleep - the first was filled with 50 shades of grey until 01:30 & all could be heard from neighbouring room. The next night was occupied with me screaming...

On the evening of the 5th March, I walked into the dining room too late for dinner yet your staff went out of their way to find me something to eat. The barman on duty went into the kitchen and I had the pleasure of meeting Clive, he went out of his way but never made me feel uncomfortable and the soup and chicken pie were amazing!! Really, what a pleasant and professi...

We've been there before and donated to the Pig Bank to have our names put on a pig and on the wall. We found our names and once again had a wonderful stay. Mondays are the best as thus us Steak night. Most delicious steak and side dishes to mention. They even have prawns yo add. Thank uou we will be back.

My entire experience here was as perfect as it could be! From the moment of my arrival Vanessa met me at the gate, and offered a complimentary breakfast for the following day, as well as giving me detailed directions to get to the sea-side / beach to see the setting sun! Absolutely gorgeous! The room was really lovely, with a lot of local character, clean and airy with...

The place is quite wonderful for the money that you pay. Clean nicely sized rooms and a very polite and helpful staff. The lady, Thelma went out of her way to ensure that we were comfortable. We got to the place at 3am after a long day working onsite and there was a gentleman who still assisted us. Customer service is very good here. Other services quite standard - h...

Lovely hotel within a boutique shopping centre right next to a main road but hitel is quiet.Friendly, accommodating and welcoming staff. Large and comfortable bed. Shower head needs replacing but otherwise room all good. Magnolia restaurant for evening meal had wonderful vibe and delicious food. Will stay at Casterbrook again when in White River.

We really enjoyed our stay at Lavender Farm Guest House. We were warmly greeted by our host Don who imparted his local knowledge about the Restaurants and Wineries in the Franschhoek region and even made a booking at a restaurant for us for the evening. The room was spacious, luxurious and beautifully decorated with every desired facility. The setting was just delightf...

We visited the Fernery Lodge during our 11 day tour of the Garden Route and voted this our best stop out of six hotels. We were so impressed with the concept of the venue, location and accommodation. The staff were wonderful and the grounds, walks and views were amazing. Simply wonderful.

We stayed in the Penthouse for a month and we all agreed it was the best holiday we ever had. The Penthouse has very modern furniture in my favorite color scheme - white with gleaming floors. The suite was cleaned every day by a trio of very friendly ladies; leaving the place spotless and smelling heavenly. The staff at reception was the friendliest we have come acro...

Lovely setting in gardens 6 mins from Jo'Burg airport. Nice rooms and relaxing atmosphere. BUT: We booked and paid for a family suite but they were given to somebody else. We were provided 2 twin rooms. Nice rooms, comfortable and spacious, except one of the TVs didn't work and the floors were covered in black soot and no towels. One room had bird droppings on the she...

This is a well organized Guest House very close to Johannesburg airport with good facilities, large rooms and free WiFi which is a rarity in South Africa. It is very convenient for people arriving from, or departing for, overseas destinations. Good value for money.

We stayed in a Superior Family room. The room is big, and very pretty - Comfortable beds, big bathroom with a bathtub and a shower. Housekeeping kept the room clean. All staff at La Roca were very friendly and helpful. Natasha checked us in after 9pm, and Thea took care of us every morning at breakfast. Breakfast was always delicious, and the coffee was great too. :)

My husband and I booked Macaron Guesthouse for the first part of our honeymoon in Franschhoek and absolutely loved our time there. It’s quaint and perfectly situated in a quiet street just off the main road within a three-minute walk. It’s a great spot if you want to be near the Franschhoek Wine Tram ticket booth/pick up and drop off spot, as well as many restaurants. ...

Stunning boutique hotel, the room we stayed in was huge with a balcony and ocean view. It was so beautifully decorated, the bathroom was stunning with a free standing bath, double shower and basin. The restaurant is stunning as well and the food was delicious. Overall the service we received from when we arrived was exceptional! I would recommend this to any traveler a...

Wow - what an amazing place. The lodge is just incredible. Situated in the most beautiful place with stunning views. Our room was perfect and everything has real character. The staff were amazing and breakfast and dinner were gorgeous! I wish I could stay again soon!

The hotel was easy to find and well sign posted from the road. The location couldn't be beat as it was literally on the beach! The rooms were well appointed, we had a balcony facing the sea. The best was the Restaurant attached but not owned by Milkwood Manner, where we probably had the best meals during our 21 days traveling the country. Service was outstanding. ...

Great place to stay, amazing food!! Very unusual setting but great, disappointing first impression with staff but the second day was good when we met the owner.... expensive place to stay but great for a special occasion. We got married whilst staying here and wanted to get married (with no guests) on the premises but it appeared expensive so we did it on the beach t...

My family and I had a great stay at Perry's Bridge Hotel. We arrived late but were helped quickly by attentive staff who delighted in entertaining our 8 month old baby. They offered us a travel baby cot and baby bath bassinet (very nice touch!). We brought our own cot and the check-in attendant who helped us with our luggage quickly unfolded our cot like an expert. ...

We had a lovely warm welcome from the owner Tim on arrival at Ashbourne House - he gave us loads of recommendations for vineyards and restaurants in the local area. The room and pool were lovely as well as a delicious breakfast! Will definitely stay here again when I come back to Franschhoek.

Our stay was a treat from start to finish. The location, over looking the Knysna lagoon, is both convenient and yet tucked away from the main city bustle. From the moment we arrived Fish was efficient and friendly and the owners were a wealth of knowledge about the area and local activities. The view from our room (visible from every aspect of the bedroom and bathroom)...

The best thing about the place was the staff, Gloria and Randell , Both New at thier work had been exceptional. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and had been so accommodating that we felt they were part of our family. (I have stayed in many hotels round the world which we cannot compare to as this was a lodge / B&B type place) , however the servic...

If you are looking for a relaxing personal experience this is your place. This is small place with a welcome home feel. Michael was an absolute delight. Everyone was helpful, with places to go and how to get there. The location was perfect for touring, viewing or dining. We could not have picked a better place to stay. 5 Stars all the way!!

i was very impresssed on the kind of service that the rivonia b&b staff had provided. the staff (namely zani, fillitah, farmer, jessica, charles and trust) were very friendly, kind and have a genuine desire to make your stay enjoyable. the room was very spacious and clean - it's better than a 4 star hotel! as a frequent traveller, i greatly appreciated that i was abl...

My booking wasn't in in the system and was asked to move to another hotel but couldn't as it was 20 minutes away so I got a room eventually but the TV and kettle didn't work, so were replaced, there was no hairdryer but when asked I got one and when I eventually took a shower, realised it leaked water onto the bathroom floor. The WIFI signal is so weak, it keeps losin...

I had an excellent experience as a woman traveling alone, first visit to South Africa. Everything at Tshukudu was well and thoughtfully done. The staff go above and beyond to make you happy. My guide was knowledgeable and cared deeply about the animals we were seeing. We saw big five, African Wild Dogs, and much more. Great experience. Note: virtually no cell signal an...

We stayed in the Nautulis room with its own private plung pool. I have to say we were looking forward to staying here as it was £300+ per night and sadly we were somewhat disappointed. The room has a stunning view however, recent guests failed to mention that iits directly on the main coastal road and VERY noisy. The room was lovely but the pool is not heated so not...

We only used the place for sleeping as we were out and about. It is 2 blocks from the strip and beach which is perfect. It has all the facilities for dining, cooking etc - we just didn't use them. It was clean and comfortable. The TV is old and very few stations so night time wind down with a TV is not the best.

The majeka is one of the best hotels I have stayed in around the world and an excellent value for the money. Every single staff member was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was one of the best presented meals and the quality of food amazing. I cannot wait to return.

It was our first time at the hotel and what a pleasant surprise to discover this hidden gem. Definitely one of the best hotels we've stayed in. Everything was just perfection, from the warm welcome when we arrived to the beautiful spacious eclectically decorated rooms. The rooms finally touches was just amazing, they've thought of everything to make your stay very comf...

Amazing views we didn’t wanna leave but we chose a wrong time to go where it was cloudy and rainy.. but still when the sun peaks out it was breathtaking... we got one of the best views! Food there is amazing too and wine tasting was so affordable and the cloud wines are top notch! Will go there again as it’s next to the Delaire Graff also, and we get a private buggy to...

No 5 is a hotel located in a quiet street 5 minutes from seafront in Port Elizabeth. It is an absolutely stunning hotel with the most beautiful rooms. Found Carslogie House excellent. Spacious, beautifully-appointed room with every comfort - great bed, TV, ironing board, tea-coffee, mini-fridge, wifi. Bathroom also spacious and spotless. This property surpasses any expectation we had. We knew that it looked good on paper,, but reality blew us away. Every aspect of our spacious, well appointed accommodations was perfect. The staff was attentive, informative and friendly. The grounds were beautiful and secure. We would definitely book again.

Best place which i ever stayed in South Africa. Lovely house, lovely design, beautiful and comfortable room with a nice view to the ocean. Breakfast was good with lots of option, freshly cooked and prepared by the staff. We can walk to the ocean which is only 2 mins walking. Located at great location. The only downside is poor internet connection in our room but no pro...
