Best choice I ever made”

If you really want the experience in living in a Japanese house, then this is the best choice. The owners Ken and his wife were really kind and nice to me, they are very accommodating. I was even very late for my check-in time but they waited for me. The place is quite clean, and pretty much everything you need is there (clean bathroom, wifi, power outlet, water). I pretty much just wanted a good place to stay, but I intended to be outside most of the time. but the place was really accessible for me, the staff is very kind. The area is safe even at night (i came late like 11pm++) I was even able to meet other travelers by chance (Melanie and Rafael :D) and if I ever have a trip for Osaka again, i'd go back and book here that's for sure! Tip: the nearest JR Station is Shinimamiya, the Tennoji station is a bit farther.

Great budget hostel”

Great hostel based in a big, old, traditional japanese house. The place was very clean and well maintained. I decided to try this hostel for a quick, one night stay but finally stayed 2 nights. The host kindly accomodated my last minute request. He was very helpful and courtous, waiting for my late arrival, helped with laundry and even brought electric heater to dry clothes inside the room as the weather was rainy. Rooms, kitchen, showers were spotless, the bunk bed was comfortable (I was lucky to be only person in the room as it is dorm style) and the overall experience was fantastic. Thank you!

Convenient, but have to becareful at night ”

Convenient place for foods and ShinSekkai street. Just becareful when first looking for the guest house. We accidentally entered a red light district, but luckily it's morning. Overall it's a very good place, very free to come back and go out any time you want.

Nice japanese style guest house.”

I love the Japanese style accommodation, and this fits what I wanted. I stayed in a family room with my parents and my brother. The room is clean and very comfortable. very helpful. The only thing that needs improvement is the bathrooms; it should have more bathrooms to handle number of guests if possible, or have a private bathroom for the family room. And the toilet on the second floor needs to be fixed, the washing mode is not working. The overall stay for me was okay. I was happy :)

Convenient room”

The hostel was fine for the price and the owner was nice, if a bit distracted while I was there (he was setting up new bunk beds in the kitchen area which seemed a bit of a weird place to sleep considering other guests might disturb sleepers if they wish to use the kitchen, but maybe it's work in progress? This space seemed like it would have been great as a common area for guests to socialise) I think a curfue would have been nice as one night I was awoken at 2am by a guest checking in to my bunk room. The next night some women in the room next to my bed (separated by very thin Japanese doors) kept their lights on and chatted until after midnight. Someone was smoking in the rooms that night as well (which I don't think was allowed but the smell was distinctive) The area was walking distance (~20min) to Tennoji station, and the Zoo, Temple etc. Which was great but the area itself was very dated. In saying that I felt totally safe here, there was lots of kids and old people around, just to get a bit of tourist life you'll want to walk a bit). Overall a satisfactory hostel but with a few touch up to consider the needs of backpackers it could be great.

Good location”

Overall stay was fine. Difficult to find the guest house, you need to google in advance. Only face towel available, no bath towel and basic toiletries. Face towel was retrieved the night before check-out. Check out at 11am is too early. No water use for shower from 11pm.

Staff very friendly and helpfull but only speak japanese. Toilet and bath room small and dirty. Big Kitchen but dirty and cannot be Used at all. Never make up room, towel so small and never replace so do the blanket and bes aheet. Quite a distance from subway and the area is not safe, poor community area. Best don't stay in this place. We move out to 3 star hotel with all the facilities and yet the rental is Just a bit more then the lousy dirty sosial guess house. One major set back is that this guess house never lock at all the time, security at risk

Good value ”

Fairly good value for money although the bathroom is a bit mouldy...but the owner is very friendly and helpful. There is no reason why I should complain.

First of all this hostel look like renovate from japanese house shower not clean but i have no choice to use when you walk to this place you will pass bar and i not recomment for women who travel alone stay in this hostel environment not good at all so scary when i walk at night roon not clean enounge i so upset to stay in this place just thank god that i stay only 1 night never ever go back again

Decent place”

The host cannot speak English thus we have to use Google translate for communication. Internet was broken for 2 days, then the host shared the hotspot via her mobilephone for us in the last day. It was Japanese Golden week, so every other hotels were fully booked, and we have to stay at this place.
