Great value for price”
Great location and very quiet facilities. Despite having to sleep in a room with 10 other people, I slept like a dream! Right around the corner from Tokyo Skytree and Ryōgoku Kokugikan Sumo Stadium.

Hmmm…”
Bathrooms were clean, but bedroom was sucks. I booked private room to avoid crowded place due to COVID-19 pandemic, and the things you can SEE were yes, clean. However, under the bed or bed mattresses were so dirty. Do not recommend to see there.

Good Value. Just know what you're getting in to.”
Great value for the location and proximity to the subway. However, the facilities were pretty lacking. During our three night stay, one of the only two male toilets/sinks was broken. The showers had consistent evidence of mold, and one of the two bunk beds we reserved had confirmed bedbugs. Again, good value for the location in Tokyo, but nothing fancier than a dirty college dorm.

Cheap, but super dirty ”
The location was ideal and the stay was cheap, but I would never stay here again. There was a ton of black mold in the shower, no toilet paper in the bathroom, there was only one toilet for men and you were sharing a room with about 15-20 other people, the washer/dryer didn’t work, and the comforter I was given was pretty dirty. You can definitely find a nicer place to stay for the same price or a couple bucks more—don’t be fooled by the pictures.

Booked 3 nights - Stayed for 7”
I didn't expect much when I first booked Trace. I needed somewhere quickly and inexpensive. It ended up being so good!! -Friendly and comfortable. -They keep your bags up stairs if you arrive early. -There is free coffee every morning from 8am-10am -It's one train from NRT airport -The two stations that are closest are great links. I hadn't been to Tokyo before so I got to see a lot very easily. I stayed on the 4th floor in the female dorms. I would recommend requesting the lower bunk as these have drapes. or beds 416/418 as they are in there own little corner. The showers and toilet area were kept well clean. You get a fresh towel every 3 day. Hairdyer Straighteners Slippers 100yen for washing machine with detergent List goes on... Incredible value for money Thank yoooou Trace!

Exceptional”
I booked Trace last minute and was pleasantly surprised with it. The entrance ways were a bit tiny and can be cluttered with linen during cleaning hours, but the facility and room areas were quite clean. There were many guests in my one room but it never felt like it. I think this was because of all the directive signs that asked guests to follow basic rules. This was exceptional. There is a common room on the 9th floor where guests can talk and eat. My one night there was pleasant. As a note for anyone who may need it, leaving your bag after checkout costs 300 yen. I actually wound up booking this guesthouse 2 weeks after my first stay as well.

Great place at great price”
For a guesthouse, this place represented very good value for money. Well located near higashinihonbashi and presented a lot for the price you are paying. Very flexible and practical support

Convenient location, good place to stay for the night”
The bed was comfortable and the room temperature was perfect. I stayed in a private room where you had to walk past the dorm beds to get to. The room was tiny. If you have a lot of luggage, it might not work out well for you as there's not much room to move around. The bed took up 90% of the room. There's a small elevator to use to go up and down. There are several Wi-fi networks to connect to, and some work better than others so you'll just have to figure out which one. Overall, enjoyed my stay and would consider coming back the next time I'm in Tokyo.

Mixed Dorm”
I felt that the guesthouse was quite far from the station because apparently, I got off a wrong exit. In my one overnight stay, I was able to get out of the subway with the wrong exit a lot of times and finally found the literal nearest exit (and the only one with elevator) when I checked out. It would be nice if the guesthouse can give instructions on the nearest exit for the incoming guests. The guesthouse has a couple of vendo machines around it and if you walked along the road, you can also see some restaurants and convenience stores. They also have a (tax-free) drugstore where you can buy some cosmetics. The Sky Tree can be seen near the guest house. They gave one complimentary drink and since I got a breakfast coupon, I got omelette, bread with jam, and (fresh) salad for breakfast. It starts at 7 AM so if you need to depart earlier, I won't suggest this one. The people at the reception were nice and they can converse in English. They'll give one towel and a yukata. The bathroom is in the floor (I think all floors have their own). They have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. There was no toothpaste. There was a coin laundry in the floor too (it was always occupied so I didn't get to use it) and they have English instructions. I was a bit concerned on the security of the room. All floors can be accessed by a small elevator and I think anyone can get in because the reception area is the restaurant and you don't have to enter there when you're going up. I don't know when they'll lock each door of the room but before I went to bed, I couldn't lock it because there might be other people coming in without keys (I was only given a shoe locker key, not a room key). We don't have a locker for valuables. Maybe you can put them inside your shoe locker (which is just a small one, my laptop couldn't fit) but apart from that, there are no other designated areas where you can secure you things, especially that the room is actually easily accessible by anyone even w

Overnight Accommodation”
The booked room was kind of very small with less space to move around, 1 large bed (with at least 1.5 ft clearance on side of bed to wall and another clearance for the door opening, kind of cramped actually, but the stay was cheap than any other parts of Tokyo, you just have to move sideways to get out of the room, good for small framed guests, not recommended for big framed guests. Though the toilet facilities were complete. Bunk beds are basically outside our room. so, there is a bunk bed beside the toilet, will not recommend to stay on that area, much better if you get a room. Roughly around 3 shower rooms per floor, separate male and female toilet shared by around +-20guests per floor. Not allowed to eat inside the room as well.

Bedbug....”
Stayed for 2 nights in private bunk bed room. 1,"private room" is in dorm room, you walk through dorm room to get to your room. and there's a good gap between the door and the floor so you can hear people in dorm room very well and they can hear you just as much. 2,You are not supposed to eat or drink in your room/bed. you have to go to different floor to do all that. 3,It is not a tidy place. guests slippers scattered at the entrance, clean and used linen stuck up everywhere. it seems like they don't have any storage for cleaning supplies or linen because they used all the space to have more beds for guests so they can make more money. 4,BED BUG. unfortunately the bed we stayed at definitely had bedbug and made our life a lot miserable after the stay. We told staff about it but she seemed to have no idea what having bedbug means for a hostel. assuming they won't do much about it. It is reasonably priced for Tokyo but not worth getting bedbugs.

The price and location are absolutely the best but the room is a little bit smaller and it’s summer now in Japan and our room was very warm. They cant adjust the temperature of our room unfortunately.

Good for budget travels!”
Highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking to travel on a budget! Rooms are quite small but enough room to be comfortable. Hostel was quiet and had good amenities. The girl at the front desk spoke fluent English, which was great as a traveller who does not speak very much Japanese. The only negative thing I have to say was there was some mould on the ceiling in the showers. The rest of the shower was very clean though!

Inexpensive place and good location”
Everything is good. I'd love to share my opinion so the hostel may manage and improve in the future. I lose the shoes key (normal locker key) and I was asked to pay fee 2,000 yen as its rule. I paid before checked out for a day. They told me there are no spare key for your pod. Then, The hostel cannot find the cheapest place to make the new key locker. was asked to pay almost 20,000 yen (The hostel have no spare key and ask me to pay all expense for making the locker key) On the last day, i was called by phone but i cannot pick up due to my business (trip) and after back to pick up my suitcase. I was complained that i was my false by ignored the phone (ask me pay additional fee) and Why do i have to pay for hotel's maintenance cost as the key is belong to hotel and i already paid for its fine (2,000 yen). i keep telling them that i must arrive the airport by 19:00 but they still discuss with manager (almost 2 days since i paid the fine) . so negotiating until behind the time and lose the flight. i have to pay the new ticket for shinkansen at the airport. its cost is awesome as well. I love this place and wish you make the spare keys in advance (atleast 2-3 keys) so you don't have to fix the locker if you manage it and it not good to push the additional cost to customer. in my case, i paid almost 15,000 yen for the new train ticket after waste my time to negotiating about your shoe locker's maintenance fee. The impolite one is, i was asked to present the credit card and forcely expected to charging me at the site (i got the similar experience in a scamming place in Vietnam). I feel not good at that point. Please consider my case, spare more keys and respect the customer's time, don't bring customer to join the hotel maintenance fee. For example: If a customer dropped the shower handle and it was broken so he/she must pay all the mainternance fee for fixing the handle in shower room?) hope to see the improve in the future.

Worth the Pay”
The staff was very nice and informative. The rooms are pretty tiny. There's enough room for your bed and legs to move around. The shower room is a bit moldy on top but the country is surrounded by water (my logic). If you're bothered by a littlenmold then this place is totally worth the pay. I would recommend it!

Super Cheap but could use some improvements ”
For about $20 a night in Tokyo its a steal! By biggest complaint would be the arrangement. There are beds in the same area as the washer, sinks, bathrooms, and showers. So every time someone uses any of those things it woke me up. Other than that pretty good.

Dorm room and beds OK, but lack privacy (more than most dorms)”
As title suggests, room and beds are okay - room is spacious and bed was clean and comfortable. However, dorm beds do not have curtains, so in addition to being visible from the outside, there is no way to block out the room lights, which will be on until midnight or later. This is more of a problem for the top beds.
