The place itself is such a great deal. It is clean, spacious, and very cozy. But there happened to be a someone playing music in my room at 3 in the morning, which completely ruined my sleep. But this is the risk you take staying at any hostel, you never know who might be sharing the room with you.

Perfect stay at a very center location”
Staff are very welcoming. Rooms and bed are nice and spacious. I stayed in female dorm for 2 nights, they did the cleaning everyday. Shared bathrooms are also clean. Location is perfect, 2 minutes walk from monorail. I would love to stay here again for my next Okinawa trip :)

Perfect for early morning flight”
I had to catch an early morning flight so I slept for several hours here. The staff were friendly and the facility was clean! I stayed on the female only floor, it was securely locked and had their own bathroom, shower, laundry room on this female only floor. Because there’s no airport hotel at the moment, this is the next best place to rest between flights or before early flight.

I stayed during COVID so not sure if the bed is the same cost during 'normal' times but it was a steal! The rooms are large and comfortable, did not feel crowded in the slightest. Very clean in all areas of the hostel. Great location, super close to a train stop which will get you to and from the airport and other areas very easily. Only downside was carrying the luggage up the stair cases, but no big deal really. 100% Recommend that you stay here.

Convenient location”
Good parts are dorms are spacious and airconditioned. Beds are comfortable. Common room has kettle, microwave and fridge but no cooking facilities. I also noticed decent selection of comic books and shared PC. Now for bad part Mens rooms are on 5th floor no lifts so have to climb stairs. The room itself is quite large and maybe fits 30 or more beds. The problem is that there is zero sound insulation in the room so very easy to hear everything in the room whether someone staying up using their phone, or some idiots (more than 1） triggering alarms at 2am and not switching them off, and ofcourse typical SNORERS esp for males. Using earplugs didnt help too much when they are near by. It is difficult to get good night rest in a large room with ppl like this. In that aspect I think capsule type would be better option it will block sound to some extent so even snorers were not as noticeable when using ear plugs.

Very close to Yui rail station. Very helpful staff. Special thanks to Sasaki san who helped with my cancelled flight. Enjoyed the Doll Festival event provided by the Hostel.

Honestly a solid place! Great location near kokusai street, nice and cheap, and is fairly clean. Not a ton of showers in the large male dormitory, but I was always able to use it when I wanted to. Highly recommend!

As the guest house will change the password for the front lock every day, remember to take a photo of the new password during day time. I almost spent my night outside the guest house because I forgot to take note of the password and the bell outside the guest house was also out of order.

Garbage attitude”
Female staff from Aichi is drunken with rudeness. Their luggage lift was helpful on check in day. But when you need to check out 10:00 a.m. they don't care you have a 25 kg suitcase you need to carry 5 floors down. She unapologetically informed me lift operating time was 15:00-21:00. I asked if I could come back after 15:00, she replied it was not posssible.

Guest House Umikaji is conveniently located near the Prefecture Monorial Station, RyuBo Shopping Centre and Kokusai Street. Monorail ticket is Yen 260 from Naha Airport, only seven stations away. Suggest check-in time to bring forward to 2pm from current 3pm. Otherwise, Guests can stay/rest in the reception lounge/dining room, surf internet on the two internet terminals or read the story books and sight seeing materials provided. On the whole, a clean and comfortable place to stay while on holiday in Okinawa. I will stay again!

Second stay in this property and will stay again”
The location is a stone throw away from Prefecture Government Office Monorail Station. It is about 15 mins ride from Naha Airport. Close to RyuBo departmental store, KFC, MOS burger and supermarket. About 4-5 mins walk to Kokusai Street. Witnessed some nice upgrades in the property as compared with my first stay in April 2019. Perhaps the free WiFi can be improved further on coverage and speed. Will choose Umikaji again when I come back to Okinawa.

This is a new guesthouse that Naha needed. Having been to Naha several times, I have stayed at different guesthouses and hostels. Guesthouse Umikaji is fairly new addition. Location is great, only a few minute walk from Kenchomae station. It is also very close to the bus stops and Kokusaidori, the main street in Naha city. More importantly, all of the staff members are great and super kind and professional. I had a very rare travel-related, lack of sleep related memory problem, yet the staff was understanding and very kind regardless. You will be happy to meet and to know all of the staff but especially Misaki-san, Maki-san, and Masa-san. They are always very kind, friendly, and helpful with any of your questions.
