I have tried other hotels in Dipolog, Cebu & Dumaguete . Gwandalan House is a bed and breakfast but has the comfort of a hotel. It started September 2018 with only 12 units. It has a unique ambience and homey atmosphere. It is always fully-booked. One has to try staying here in order to appreciate the simple pleasures of life. Very clean, with friendly staff trained to please clientele, I got the most out of my money. Free breakfast for me & my 81 y. o. sister everyday). The ground floor is popular and preferable; there is a small relaxation garden with bonsai trees. One can explore nearby markets and buy tropical fruits like sweet mangoes, bananas, etc., and ask staff to include these for breakfast. We went to Manukan and bought dried fish "palotpot", a Filipino favorite, had them for breakfast with omelet and "chorizo" or "tapa". There is no telephone but it is not a hindrance; staff is accessible and ready to help. My sister and I enjoyed our 7-day stay.

Exceptional”
My first impression upon arrival at the entrance of the hotel was that this may not the one that we booked online, that's just because what I saw was as luxurious room. I had second thoughts while at the reception area... but mind you, the room is not just what you see online, it will exceed your expectation. Looks like 5 Star for a Bed & Breakfast Hotel. Super clean! They will change your towels if you request too (but be cautious to save planet earth). I love their free breakfast and the staff are friendly too and very accommodating if we have some personal request. Feels like home. When in Dipolog, don't miss Gwandalan House!

Place is very very nice, room is awesome looking and beautifully designed, and as our best praise: "We wanted a room like this" , even though it is smaller than many hotel rooms we have tried, it really did captivated our eyes and the space is well optimized. People here are really kind and their auras feel good, we enjoyed our stay, money is beyond it's worth. They only have 12 rooms as of the moment so it's quiet, their area is smaller but well optimized, they have open kitchen which is very very nice, food is prepared well in front of you and tasted great. They have no pool as of the moment, I hope they expand. Still it is one of the Best hotels we are in, both local and international. The vive here is great, a fusion of province's serenity with the latest modern architectural design. We will definitely come back. This place is new, try it ^_^ our fellow guests were happy too, and this is well reviewed. It is a Pleasure, Thank you

Gwandalan House is such a charm, with rooms comparable to those in upscale hotels. Every piece in this accommodation seems to be carefully picked and put together to come up with a classy whole. This boutique bed and breakfast is set to amaze because it goes beyond providing just the bare basics. It has exquisitely decorated rooms, firm mattresses, clean sheets and towels, huge flat screen tv, airconditioner, hot and cold shower, even bathrobes, a hair dryer, bedroom slippers, pretty lamps and paintings-- all thought of just so it lives up to being the “restful place” it was envisioned to be. It’s our newfound home away from home when in Dipolog City. You should make it yours, too!

Made 3 different bookings. All were efficiently handled. Special requests were granted and confirmed directly by Gwandaland. Furnishings from finishes, linen and amenities exceeded my expectations. Everything was immaculately clean. Many delicious breakfast choices included with the rate. Even got invited to a small family party with 3 other guests. Privileged to have met the owners and some members of their family. Gwandaland- truly a resting place. Highest accolades for the people who own and run it for warmly taking care of us guests. Great Bed and Breakfast place”
I would recommend staying here since this is very nice comfortable, clean and friendly place to stay for one day or week. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is very good and not a special menu but your free breakfast is from their main menu and can select your choice. The offer airport pickup service so easy to get there with baggage.

Favorite stopover at Dipolog!”
We've been to Dipolog three times, and in all of those three time we've only stayed at Gwandalan House. Yes, that's how much we enjoy our stay when we're there. Everything is spotlessly clean, and the amenities are well thought-out. As for the staff, they were all kind and accommodating. Food is also delicious.

I don’t think you can find another place better to stay in Dipolog everything is very nice and clean and the bed is very nice big bed. The only minus I can say about it is the fact that it doesn’t have a fridge in the room. But the restaurant bar is just outside and it’s reasonable priced so you can have a cold drink.

We stayed here for 3 nights and we were quite impressed with everything! Good location, just a 5 minute ride going to the city centre. Spacious rooms and comfy beds. Breakfast was great and their Spanish chorizo carbonara and limone shrimp pasta were delicious! Staff were friendly and accommodating! Truly a bang for your buck!

More than just a place to sleep in, Gwandalan House is a cozy inn with all the amenities you need. - clean rooms, firm mattress, two different sizes of pillows, large TV, A/C, good water pressure, and courteous staff. They’re easy to reach via email and they respond quickly. There are also books that you can borrow and read while you’re staying at the inn. Truly a wonderful place.

Clean, simple, comfortable”
The rooms are very clean and are packed with the usual comforts of a hotel stay: robe, slippers, hair dryer, hot/cold shower, electric kettle, toiletries, and the like. The only odd thing is that there is no clear demarcation between the room and the bathroom. The sink area is just five steps away from the bed, and the only thing that provides the toilet and bath areas a bit of privacy is a shower curtain. Share this room only if you are really close with your companion! Expect a half-hour wait for breakfast, since the staff will prepare it in their open kitchen right after you order it. The food is good. In case you intend to pay on-site: their credit card machine malfunctions frequently, so prepare to either pay in cash or use bank transfer to settle your bill. There are fastfood establishments nearby, and it's pretty easy to hail a motorcab from the area. Parking space is limited, but the staff will assist you if you arrive with a car. All in all, this hotel provided a great experience. Recommended!

It was unfortunate that the room allocated to you was the one where the glass partition to the toilet was broken and so we temporarily covered it with a curtain. We are currently waiting for the glass supplier to change the broken glass door. We will also look into finding a back up credit card machine. We hope we shall see you again in the near future.
