Gwangjin hotels & places to stay

I had never been to the Walker Vista before so it was the first time. My wife and I had wanted to go to an outdoor pool hotel but unfortunately it wasn't open until June 22nd which was a let down when we first arrived. Still the manager did her best to make us feel better about our stay by giving us an upgrade which was much appreciated. Even without the use of the outdoor pool I feel this hotel has a lot to offer such as one of the best hotel gym's that I've been in within Seoul. The indoor pool was bright and has an outdoor sunbathing patio which I thought was a great extra to cool off as it gets a bit humid in there. The hotel was extremely clean, even the TV remote has a plastic cover that is replaced with every guest. This hotel also has a unique outside garden patio area to sit that has foot sauna's and hammock to watch the stars at night. I believe that this hotel holds one of the best value for money in Seoul especially in the summer months.

We loved our generous-sized apart-hotel room which fit the 5 of us more than comfortably and never gave us cause to feel crowded out. The amenities provided within the apartment - washing machine, clothes dryer, ventilated clothes drying area, refrigerator, stove, microwave and convection oven, cutlery and utensils, dinnerware, huge sofa, three double beds, spacious toilet, etc. - ensured that all creature comforts were well accounted for. It was like living in a luxurious home away from home. The on-site fitness center was also a sight to behold. Its scale and equipment offerings are on par with some of the best gyms we have in Singapore. The on-site trainers were also very friendly and helpful. Strangely, the place was always empty when we visited, save for a few elderly gym-goers who were content with gentler exercises. One can definitely push the limits here. Having access to this gym is a big plus in our books. Location wise, the hotel is situated next to a shopping mecca otherwise known as the Lotte Department Store, houses numerous cafes and restaurants, and is surrounded by countless other eateries, convenience stores, pubs, street food stalls, a few bus-stops and the Konkuk University train station. Getting around, shopping and foraging for necessities posed no issue, but of course, nothing beats living right in the middle of say, Myeong-dong. We took a star off the 'location' rating because we had to take fairly long rides on public transport to get to other places of interest. That said, our grievances are immaterial given how smoothly traffic flowed (#firstworldproblems). Thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We highly recommend it.

I have a family with 2 children of their middle school ages and needed for 11-night stay due to move and house renovation. I was looking for a hotel with a good price, clean and close to the subway station possibly. The Designers Kondae meets all I needed, and I'm so much happy with the hotel, especially the staffs members. Every single staffs are so nicely prepared and kind ever. I'm glad to recommend to anyone who think about staying with this hotel.

We had a great experience at the Dong Seoul Hotel. When we arrived we had no problem finding the Hotel as it is just across the Dong Seoul Bus Station where our Airport Limousine Dropped us off. Also, for shopping and sightseeing, the hotel is about 5 minutes walk to Exit 4 of the Gangbyeon Railway Station (LINE 2). Another excellent feature of the hotel is the fact that there is a 7/11 and Family mart convenience store just across and around the corner. Also, within 1 minute walk are lots of cheap restaurants and 24 Hour TOM TOM'S COFFEE SHOP. The Rooms were spacious as we had the triple room, it has 3 single beds and the bathroom has all the basic amenities for a relaxing stay. One point though is the fact that their bathroom has no locks. The cleaning lady was very nice and greeted us every morning and our room was kept tidy and organized all the time. Also, the reception team was also very nice and accommodating and they even allowed us to check-in early as we were very tired from our early flight. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to SEOUL.

I definitely enjoyed my stay at H Avenue (Kondae branch). The hotel interior is very aesthetically pleasing and worth the walk from the subway station. As its located at Kondae, there are a lot of eateries and pubs within walking distance. The bed was made every day tho I doubt that the sheets were changed every two days. However, the room was cleaned meticulously every day! The only downside is the lighting in the room. I get that it's probably mostly used as a party hotel or a staycation hotel but the lighting was very dark and the windows allowed hardly any sunlight. So if you're putting on make up in the room, make sure to double check in the mirrors on the way out!!

We arrived super late to this guesthouse due to a delayed flight, but the owner Richard came down and helped us check in with no problem at all. Our stay was amazing, hosts were extremely friendly, helped us out with directions when we needed, ate together and had a wonderful experience of Seoul! Only a 5 minute walk from Ttukseom station, this hostel is right where you need it! There is a 24 hour shop basically next door, a beautiful park 10 minutes walk away, and lots of local restaurants outside. I recommend this place so much, the hosts and the vibe of the whole place made it the best place we stayed in, in our 4 month trip around Asia! Make sure you stay here, and make good friends with the hosts!

Pros: 1. ideal for couple/ family who is looking for nicer hotel, cheaper deal. 2. 2 steps away from train station, easy access to almost anywhere 3. strategic location, restuarants, cafe, drug stores, bars, bakery, convenient stores are all around, very lively and happening area, you can even linger around the area after 5pm for dinner, coffee, or beer. 4. staff cant speak english, but they were trying their best to help! 5. super nice room, good interior design, much love their bath room,(seperated toilet/ bathroom & bathtub) ideal for girls who need to do makeup. 6. spacious. 7. desktop provided. 8. room has alot of extra surprises, e.g: skincare sachets, toielt bidet seats, and even condoms lol Cons: 1. few stations away from city area, need to travel by train most of the time. 2. download some translation app as you will need that to communicate with the hotel staff.

I was surprised to know that it was just a motel for couples. I should have paid more attention to the term “Motel” when booking. The stuff members do not speak nor read English. You might want to have a pen to draw a figure to communicate with them. Actually I did so when I asked for the repair the bath (a jag zee did not work.) But I am satisfied with the stay all together, considering the reasonable price.
